Grateful for the change in the flow of conversation, Sissy replied, "If we can pull them away from the food, we might be able to." She gave a slight, lopsided smile. "As long as you're not intending to get us all involved in researching colonial American history." She knew that Heidi wouldn't do that, but it was suppose to be a little joke.

"Cute, Sis," Heidi returned dryly, but she smiled. "I wouldn't do that to you -- not unless I thought you all deserved some punishment." She winked. "What do you think they might be up for? Monopoly? Charades?" She started giggling at the idea of Devon getting into charades.

She noted the dry tone and made a mental note to not try any more bad jokes. She hated bad jokes, especially when she was the one that made them. "I don't know. Monopoly always seems to take forever, but charades could be really fun- and funny- if we could get a big enough group together to play." She made a face. "Of course, I'm terrible at it. Still, that actually could be entertaining." As restless as she was, Monopoly would probably seem like a nightmare, but she thought that charades- or something like it- would be good for her, even if she did up making an idiot out of herself.

"Charades it is," Heidi agreed. "This could be priceless, really, someone should bring a camera or something. Let's go see who we can round up."

Heidi's fingers tapped almost irritably at the keys of her laptop. George Taylor, you are a piece of work. She did, at least, manage to find some very nice online photos of one of the two homes he owned in eastern Pennsylvania, even if the town in which the house was situated was virtually unpronounceable.
She had sensed the return of the Alpha male -- as, she suspected, had most of the pack. She suspected that he had succeeded in bringing the new "recruit" back to the hotel with him, since he had not called for a leaders' meeting, but she refrained from going down to meet the newcomer. Most of the kids will probably swarm in the area before too long, and we don't want to overwhelm the poor girl. If I'm needed, Cole knows how to find me. And he would, she suspected, before long; he usually relied on Heidi to help those joining the pack who had been recently bitten. She was, after all, the only one of the Alphas and Betas who was not a pureborn werewolf -- she knew what a newly bitten wolf had to endure.

Continued from: Cassidy’s Bedroom.
Slowing in pace as she drew up to the Beta female’s office, the green eyes of the relatively young female fixed on the door as she got closer, wondering if she would be interrupting, and if so, just what she would be interrupting. Cassidy had always been somewhat curious about the older female’s line of work, but it was rather more like a ‘sisterly’ curiosity than anything else… for lack of a better term.
Coming up on the door itself, she hesitated only for a moment, and then lifted her hand, knocking four times gently on the wood. And then she waited.

"Come on in," Heidi called, mildly distracted. Almost automatically, she saved her work before glancing up; she'd learned the hard way (thanks to some of Steven's less opportune drop-ins) that frequent saves were an absolute necessity.
"Hi, Cass," she greeted the younger wolf, stilling her fingers on the keyboard. "What's going on? Did you meet our 'new recruit' yet?"

The redhead smiled politely in return of the greeting, and closed the door behind her, moving a little closer to the desk as Heidi inquired after the new recruit.
“Funny you should mention that,” she replied, with the faintest of chuckles in her tone. She paused for a moment, chewing on the inside of her bottom lip before she continued, “We met her in the music room. We went in there to see Nate, and Cole brought her in for her check-up or whatever… but something happened, and she kinda… spazzed.”
Bad terminology.
“Sorry… I mean she freaked out a little bit. Sissy and I think she might have been reacting to someone’s emotions in the room or something, because nobody had said anything to her, or moved or anything.” She realised she’d gone a little off-topic from her intention, and inwardly kicked herself… but there was time.

Heidi raised an eyebrow. "That does sound a bit strange," she mused. "Then again, the full moon is very close. Maybe it made her oversensitive, and she was probably a little frightened to start with."
She double-checked that her work was saved, and allowed the laptop to power down. "I have no idea how long I've been in here," she admitted, stretching, "but I know I'm overdue for a break. So what else have you been up to? The hotel's been really quiet, so I know you and Devon haven't been at each other's throats." She grinned at Cassidy.

Cassidy laughed, actually having always liked bickering with Devon… as strange as that sounded; she wasn’t about to admit to it though. For the most part, she would just come off as smug, because most of the time, one way or another, she won their little ‘fights’. Whether he liked it or not, or would admit to such.
“Well… I actually came here to ask for your advice.” She smiled faintly. “On behalf of a friend…” She trailed off, waiting for Heidi to inquire before she went off on a tangent. It wouldn’t do to ramble, after all.

"My advice?" Heidi repeated, startled. "For a friend, you say? Well, I must admit you have my attention." With a chuckle, she added, "I just hope you're not asking for love advice, because that's definitely not something I'm exactly an expert on. But fire away."

Even as she was sitting herself down on the opposite side of the desk, the younger female let out an abrupt, somewhat nervous laugh, and then quickly cut it off, cursing her reaction internally.
Way to be mature.
“Um… not exactly. I don’t think.” She pulled a face, and then just decided to get it over with. There was no time like the present after all. “So, yeah… there’s Nate, right? He’s human, as we all know, but… basically, what I came here to ask, or talk about, was maybe whether or not anything like this had ever happened before.” It was only when she stopped talking that she realised she hadn’t said what that something was. “Whether or not a werewolf had… um… fallen for a human before, that is…”

"A werewolf falling for a human?" Heidi repeated, startled. She looked thoughtful for several minutes, trying to think.
"Well...I can think of at least one instance where a human was attracted to a werewolf," she said finally. She was, of course, referring to what Marion had told her about Andrew, not that she would say as much unless asked directly. "But a werewolf falling for a human -- no, I don't remember hearing about any such instances. I'm sure such situations have happened, I just don't know of any personally."

“Damn.”
It was muttered quietly, and Cassidy absently chewed on her thumbnail, pensive and puzzled. “So you wouldn’t have any advice for how to deal with that then?” she ventured, lifting her eyes to look to the second-in-command female, and only bitten leader of the pack. Perhaps that was why Cassidy was so comfortable talking about matters like this with Heidi, rather than Dia… she felt a connection with her, in regards to their origins. Not that she had anything against their Alpha female, who was a wonderful leader, but… there was just something about another bitten werewolf that comforted her somehow.

Heidi shook her head. "I'm afraid not. Except -- proceed with caution, I guess." She thought over the rest of what Cass had said.
"You said you -- that is, your friend -- has these feelings about Nate?" She couldn't fault the attraction, really. Nate was intelligent, funny, charming, musical, and not at all hard on the eyes. He got on with the entire pack almost as well as if he'd been one of their own; which, after a fashion, he sort of was. But she wasn't sure how comfortable he'd be if he discovered that one of the younger wolves had a "thing" for him. He'd probably take it in stride...wouldn't he?
