"Nah," Cole returned lazily, sighing calmly as he slouched against the doorframe a little more, glancing briefly to Dia, and then to Heidi, who was smiling triumphantly at the unexpected turn of events.
Revenge is a dish best served cold.
"I'll leave that to those more qualified for the job." He grinned, knowing that would get Steven's hackles up.

Heidi held Dia's gaze for a moment, and it was all she could do not to follow Steven's reprehensible example from earlier. The pack's first and second females were in complete agreement on this one -- turnabout most certainly WAS fair play.
"Well, come on, Steven," she said pleasantly. "We're waiting."

He glowered good-naturedly at Cole, one eyebrow quirking. After a moment he put a hand over his heart in feigned pain, shaking his head. "Ooooh, ouch. Low blow, man . . ." At the rather smug comment from Heidi he shot her a look before returning his glower to Cole, waiting for some sort of response.

Chuckling quietly to himself, Cole simply smirked, shrugging his shoulders as if to say 'well?' before glancing to Heidi. He saw how much the female was enjoying Steven's discomfort, and then looked back to the male in question, quirking a brow, and not saying a word. He just waited; waiting for Steven to snap, or throw a little tantrum.
I'm enjoying this a little too much, I think...

Steven was really not enjoying this. He hated being put on the spot, particularly when it was such a ridiculous situation. Cole was just getting back at him for all the pranks the younger of the two had initiated . . . It had to be that. Why else would the Alpha be taking such obvious pleasure in humiliating Steven like this? Shaking his head, he sighed and muttered, "Just you wait . . . You are SO getting it, sooner or later . . . When you least expect it . . ."

Muttering in the company of werewolves really did nothing to conceal what you were saying. Cole's smirk hadn't faded as he heard what Steven said.
"What if I'm always expecting it?" he challenged, cocking his head to the side, quirking a brow again, apparently rather intrigued by this little 'threat' from his Beta, even though there was no seriousness there. They had, after all, been friends for years now.

Steven really should have expected the challenge, having known Cole for as long as he had. Unfortunately, when he sulked, the Beta tended to get a bit dense, and now seemed to be one of those times. He thought about it for a long moment before turning to Cole and giving him a dark, sullen look, though his voice held a good amount of amusement (albeit embarrassed amusement).
". . . I hate when you do that."

Cole's smirk became a full-out grin; no holding back. He didn't laugh again, leaving that to the others in the room, who were apparently enjoying the banter a little too much. But, so long as they enjoyed themselves, and Steven didn't take it too personally, then Cole was quite content to keep up the brotherly bickering.
He knew he shouldn't tease Steven so badly, but sometimes, the other male was just too easy a target. He only had himself to blame.

Watching the exchange between the two males, Dia smiled, holing back a chuckle of her own, her amusement no doubt mirroring that of at least a few in the room. The dynamic between the Alpha and Beta males certainly was an interesting one and could definitely be taken in a different light if the two weren’t such good friends. But then, said dynamic was at times a source of entertainment for those around to witness it, so who were they to complain? Otherwise it certainly would have been a prompt for Dia to tell the ‘boys’ not to pick at one another the ways in which they did.

Sissy had pulled her knees up to her chest, her feet flat on the cushion of the seat, and was hugging them, her head ducked as she tried not to laugh at the bantering of the Alpha and Beta males. The fact that Steven had found himself now standing in the middle of the room, unwillingly involved in the game was funny in itself, but there was something about the two highest ranking males in the pack lightly bickering that was just adding to the situation. It didn't take her long to get herself under control, but when she raised her head, she was still grinning.

Continued from: Brody's Bedroom.
It wasn't quite what he had been expecting, he had to admit. Brody lingered in the hallway outside the TV lounge for a good while, listening to the banter and mocking before he ventured into the doorway. The Alphas acknowledged him, and quietly, he slipped into the room, propping himself on the windowsill at the edge of the room, so he wouldn't be in the way of... what were they playing?
Knowing this lot, it could be anything, he mused with a faint smile, glancing around the room to see who was present.

"Hi, Brody," said Heidi, smiling at the new addition. "You're just in time. Steven's about to take his turn at charades, come and join us."
When her fellow Beta offered her another look, she merely smiled and shrugged. He'd gotten himself into it, after all.

Sissy, who had glanced up to give Brody a grin that clearly said 'Welcome to the insanity' now gave the same look to Aiden. "If you value your sanity, you may want to run now," she commented with a grin. "We're playing charades, but you're welcome to join in. The more who add to the craziness, the more fun it'll be."

"Yes," Cassidy offered with a grin of her own, still far too amused at the Beta's frustration with having to play the game instead of just mock, "let's subject more of the pack to our insanity. Spread the madness." Devon snorted from his seat nearby, and she hurled a cushion at him with a laugh. He caught it, and poked his tongue out at her, making the redhead roll her eyes good-naturedly.
She'd offered Brody and Aiden each a little wave when they'd entered the scene, respectively. Well, if the saying was anything to go by, then 'the more, the merrier', she supposed.

Steven was starting to wonder if whether or not he could make a break for it and not get caught. He hadn't wanted to do this in the first place, but now that his audience seemed to be growing, that made him just want to bolt. Frowning a bit at both his fellow Beta and Cole, he grimaced and tried to think of something quick and painless to act out. Damn, I didn't think it would be hard . . . Finally, a thought came to him, and dark smirk crossed his face.
"Heidi, could you come here? I need a little help for this . . ."
