While Ameila wiped down the counter, Drake drained the last of his milk and stashed the cupcakes away again before taking his glass to the sink and rinsing it out. Throwing away the wrapper from his own cupcake, he glanced around and picked up his newspaper. "There has to be something else to do that doesn't involve going out to kill something." He thought for a moment, his mind casting around for something interesting. He wasn't in the mood to go isolate himself in his room at the moment. Drake admitted, though only to himself, that he wanted company, but what was there to do?

She looked up from her cleaning for the briefest of moments as Drake spoke. As she went back to wiping, she gave a small chuckle “You’d think so,” She muttered, her tone vaguely amused “But you’d probably be wrong” She folded the washcloth in half then placed it neatly beside the sink. She looked at it for a few moments before picking it up and relocating it to the other side. “Kill, kill, kill. Maim, Maim, Maim. Fun!” She said these in a slightly manic way, the last word said sarcastically.
She gave a theatrical sigh and draped herself over the counter, her back flat against it in an exceedingly awkward looking way. “Why is that all the options we have?” She complained.

"It's ridiculous," he replied with a shake of his head, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. Once again, paranoia took a hold of him for a moment and he looked at the door quickly. He knew that it was possible for someone to hear them as they passed, but he really didn't want to think about that. "It seems like hunting is the only 'recreational' activity most of the pack takes part of and I use the word loosely. "I guess we could always comandeer a video game system while we have the chance." His voice revealed that it wasn't his top choice of activities, but it was better than nothing and certainly better than a hunt. "Unless you've got a better idea," he said hopefully, not caring much for the video game option but uncertain of what he wanted to do.

Turning around so she was now laying more or less on her stomach, Amelia raised an eyebrow as Drake looked towards to door. She let the moment go and allowed her head to flop, hitting the counter with a dull thud. At the suggestion of a gaming system, she let out a small groan that was mostly muffled by the counter, as she hadn’t been bothered to raise her head. But having no other suggestions, she didn’t see anything better. But she still wasn’t happy with the suggestion.
“I’d really like to go out somewhere.” She muttered without raising her head. In the week leading up to the full moon, she was usually restless and couldn’t stand the sight of the Four Seasons. “Anywhere but this dreary, drab hole of cavernous boredom” She lifted her head high enough so that when she let it back down, it made the same sound as it had done previously.

"Always knew your head was hollow, but the sound it makes hitting the counter just proves me right," Drake said with a slight smirk.
"Hey, we can always go check out the club if you want. Maybe there's something interesting going on. If not, we can at least grab a drink before coming back. Or we can go grab some dinner." He wanted to get away for a little while. "I'll even be nice enough to pay. This time."

“Ha ha” She in monotone, regarding his more recent insult. She couldn’t find anything better to come back at him with, so she had to let him have that one, as irritating as that was.
She raised her head and stood up properly at his suggestion. “I like the sound of that” A grin now finding it’s way back to her lips “Especially if you’re going to be funding the little outing” She clicked her fingers “It’s not like we’d be missed around here, is it?” She raised her hand so that her index and middle finger were resting on her lips. “Even you’re capable of the good ideas every now and then” She said a full grin now making itself known.

"Do you think we can away with just the two of us going?" Drake questioned. "I mean, it seems like we have to have half the pack with us if we just want to open the window." He knew that wasn't exactly fair, but he just felt so smothered sometimes. He missed getting to go out on his own whenever the whim hit him. Still, if he and Amelia could get away with going on their own, it would definately be a breath of fresh air. Finally, he took a deep breath. "What the hell, right? Let's go."

“What the hell” She agreed after laughing at his example. “If it’s a problem, we’ll deal with it later. I don’t know about you, but if I can’t get out of this place soon I’m going to die of some mysterious ailment representative of boredom or some such” Amelia was getting rather excited at the prospect of getting outside now “Besides, what’s the worst that could happen? We’re on our side and as long as we stay on this side, we shouldn’t have any problems, yes?”
She waved her fists around in what could only be described as a fit of joy. She hadn’t been out of their home for a long stretch of weeks. Granted, some of that was her fault but now she was more than ready to leave, if only for a short time.

He paused and knew that he shouldn't have. He started having second thoughts. He really didn't want to give Rayne a reason to rail on him and it was usually mandatory that there be at least five going out together at any one time. He had been lucky to get away with just Owen and Carolina going with him on his ride a few days ago, but the more he thought about it, the more going out didn't seem like such a good idea. I can probably talk Owen and Carolina into going, he thought, unknowingly biting his lip as he thought. They're always up for going somewhere when they have the chance. Who else, though? At least one more...

When Drake said nothing, she let her hands drop and a frown to appear on her face. With a sigh she rolled her eyes, her previous energy and excitement all but completely lost. “You don’t want to now?” She asked in disbelief. She stared at him for a few moments before lowering herself once again onto the counter and letting her head rest on it. She began muttering about ‘stupid rules’ and ‘over protectiveness’ but nothing that could be strung together as intelligible sentences.

He sighed heavily. "Sorry..." His good mood was gone like a puff of smoke and he smashed the paper against the countertop. Sometimes being a lone rogue doesn't sound so bad. He didn't really mean it, but sometimes things were just so frustrating. Things hadn't been nearly so strict back east. Oh, the Alphas hadn't liked anyone going anywhere alone, but they had understood that sometimes it was just necessary to get out on one's own for a while, away from the rest of the pack and yet not holed up somewhere.
He squeezed his eyes closed for a moment, calming himself down. Drake was usually in a good mood, but when he got let down- whether it was someone else's doing or his own- that was out the window. Luckily, he forgave pretty easily and when he opened his eyes again, he was calm. "Well, why don't we come up with something to do around here? There's no shortage of DVDs around this place. We'll hijack the big screen for ourselves and watch movies. We can grab some popcorn and throw it at the screen at the stupid scenes and make fun of the actors without worrying about someone telling us to shut up about it."

With the hinting of a pout, Amelia looked up at Drake, raising her head just high enough to achieve it. While she wasn’t at all happy to be foiled once again in her quest to leave the hotel, she knew the alternative to being in a pack was far worse. While she was far from her usual chirpy self, she was beginning to pick up a bit from her slump in mood.
“This is going to be the death of me,” She muttered to herself while pushing herself up from the bench. “Well, I guess a DVD marathon will have to do for the time being. I can think of far worse things anyway,” She said, but her voice still reflected that she was not impressed with the way things had panned out. For the first time in a couple of weeks she had been revved up about getting out and away from the majority of the pack. It wasn’t that she didn’t like them, she did and she loved the security that came with each and every one of them. But sometimes it was just necessary to have some time away. The human part of her needed that solidarity even if the wolf was uneasy with it.

"Believe me, I know this isn't as interesting sounding as heading out for a while." He gave her a weary, half smile. "It's something, though." His voice wasn't very enthusiastic and whatever enthusiasm he could manage to bring to his voice didn't reach his eyes. "So, what do you feel like watching? Horror? Action? Just please not romance. I might have to throw myself off a balcony if that's what I've got to watch and you know how I am with heights."

Noticing Drake’s lack of enthusiasm made her own take another nosedive. For two individuals such as themselves to be so down wasn’t something seen often. With a forced half smile, Amelia responded to his question “I wouldn’t want you to have to brave heights just for poor choice of movie genre.” She tried to put some form of her usual excitement into her words but failed dismally and she knew it. “I’m terrible with decisions and I’m not fussed whatever we happen to pick. Perhaps closed eyes and pointed would be a good technique to choose.” She gave a shrug “I don’t know.” She hated the feeling of melancholy that immediately followed her disappointment, but she couldn’t shake it off no matter what ran through her mind. She desperately hoped that whatever they picked to watch, it would make things back to normal.

Drake ran a hand over his face and mustered a smile. "We're going to need some serious supplies if we're going to do a movie night. Plenty of popcorn and sodas, plus I'll get into my stash and dig out all sorts of good stuff. No wasting the goodies by throwing them at the screen though. That'll be a popcorn only sort of thing. To pick out the movie, we'll each pick two or three, combine them, mix them up and then take turns closing our eyes and picking one. We'll turn off all the lights, close the curtains and just have a good, calm time. Except for the popcorn throwing. That's not really a calm activity."
