Stubborn as she was, Regina knew well enough that following Casey was the best thing to do now; he might have gone along with her plan to go find Mikhail but she had the sense it was a sort of tenuous agreement and at the first sign of trouble he would be turning them right around and out of the hotel. It briefly entered her mind that he was only going along with this because it was her, she knew that she was able to ask slightly more of him than others, that he tended to listen to her and she didn't want to ruin that right now, she didn't want to betray whatever trust he had put in her that was spurring him along, making him lead her by the hand, putting himself in front of her to meet any danger along the way first.
When he started coughing against at the door Regina guided him a little more towards the wall, still holding his hand but using the other to help manoeuvre him a little. "Okay," she was saying, "maintenant," in French. Harried, she pulled her cardigan off and pressed it into his hand, then his hand over his nose and mouth. Her attention turned to the door. Regina was coughing too, but not quite so much, she'd been outside longer than Casey had, she assumed, and the inhalation hadn't poisoned her to the same extent yet.
Ignoring the handle -- it was glowing with heat -- she kicked Mikhails' door in, it collapsed on itself in a puff of embers that she shied away from shielding her eyes. "Mikhail," she called into the smoke filled room, her eyes weeping uncontrollably at the roiling dark clouds.

In all honesty Casey would much rather be with Regina right now than outside the hotel in the parking lot not knowing whether or not she was safe, if she was even alive. As much as his instincts were commanding him to get out, get away from the fire and the smoke, the heat and the ever-present threat of collapsing floors and crashing ceilings and walls, he couldn't let Regina do this alone. If he could help her then he would, even if it meant pulling her away in the end. Casey knew very well that this hunt might be fruitless, that there was every possibility they would leave the hotel without the wolf they had come in to retrieve, but he wasn't about to shatter Regina's hopes. That didn't mean that he wouldn't do what needed to be done if and when the time came but until then he would do what he could to help, not hinder.
He didn't argue with her when she pressed the material into his hands then guided it up to his face though there was a moment when he thought to return it and insist she take those precautions and not him. For a little while at least he would use it but before long he would be following his instincts, pushing it back at her and making sure she was the one who could breathe better, even if only marginally.
Casey kept his eyes on Regina the entire time, the sound of the wood splintering inward lost amidst the creaking and groaning from all around as the building strained under the pressure of so much heat and structural damage. He kept hold of her, moving from the wall to be closer to her so he could see into the room, just able to make out a few personal effects through all the smoke. Those that weren't toppled or broken were beginning to melt, fire licking up one wall. Casey crouched then, trying to get a better view down low, and it was then that he saw it. A hand. Fingers slightly curled upwards away from the floor. Unmoving. Down here the smoke was a little thinner and it wasn't long before Casey was able to see through it, past that hand, to the rest of the body, or what little he could see it. The sound muffled by the material bunched in one hand Casey cursed under his breath.
"Regina," he said, straightening, taking the cardigan from in front of his face, using his hands to turn her to face him. "He's gone."

It was a good question, or at least a valid one. What if he hadn't found her? Lee didn't really want to think about it too much, he was much more inclined to focus on the fact that he had and that they would be out of the hotel soon. "You don't have to worry about that," he told her. "You never have to worry about that." As far as he was concerned so long as Krystiana might need him he would find her.
"We're gonna have to jump," Lee told her then, squeezing her a little tighter in his arms as he navigated the hallway. "It'll be okay, we're going out one of these windows." When he knew it was safe below them he would get them out. Lee would never call himself the strongest, fastest, or smartest of wolves but he had to believe that he would be enough to protect Krysti right now.

His words went a long way to chasing away any remaining fear she had. She knew Lee would always find her, she knew it without knowing why. It was something she was so sure of that she just accepted it without question. "Okay," she told him. She felt safe with him, she always had and while she didn't know why she felt that way now really wasn't the time to think about it.
"Is it far?" she asked, it seemed like a stupid question given that there was no other way out of the building but it was the only thing she could think of to say when he told her they would have to jump. She trusted Lee to protect her and if he said it was going to be okay then she believed him. He would never lie to her and she knew it would all be okay with him here, even if she did find the idea of jumping out of a window a little bit scary. "Are Regina and Casey outside already?"
