“Oh great, now you’re even more delusional than normal.” He rolled his eyes slightly as he spoke although the effect was diminished somewhat by the fact he was wearing his glasses today instead of the rarer worn contact lenses. Tony liked his glasses, took pride in what some others might think of as a weakness or limitation. There was also the fact that he was able to fiddle with the frames whenever he felt nervous or uncertain.
“As if I’m going to start throwing rocks through windows… again.” He pulled open the car door and slipped inside, grateful, as he was every day that Mike had silently opened the windows without him having to ask. He hated enclosed spaces and it always made him feel… small and somehow less of himself if he had to ask someone to open up something for him. “I don’t know what you’re on, I thought I got to all your hidden drugs…”

"Mornin', gents!"
Ron greeted the two CSIs as he tore past on the way to his car, one hand clapped on his head to keep his fedora from flying off. Taking a cue from the Dukes of Hazzard, the detective slid across the hood of his beloved Impala and hoped into the driver's seat as quickly as possible. The engine roared to life and, after taking a moment to relish in the glorious sound, Ron tore out of the garage and down the street toward the station.

“What, you don’t think I can get a hold of more of my happy, happy good stuff?” Mike gave a grin and waiting for Tony to get his seatbelt fastened before turning in his seat and backing out of his space carefully. “So long as you promise not to get rid of it all again, I’ll share my stash.”
Ever since finding out about Tony’s problem with enclosed spaces, Mike had made it a point to always remember to roll down at least the passenger window before Tony got in. It was the decent thing to do and he wasn’t going to get annoying about something like claustrophobia.
“We’re running late…”
“I noticed.” With that, Mike peeled out of his parking spot and put a rush on getting them to work.

Trish knew her car was far from fabulous. The old Firebird had definitely seen better days, but that was why she had been able to purchase it in the first place. She didn't think of it as a junker...it had character, dammit.
Didn't mean she was going to use her next couple-a paychecks to spruce it up a bit, though.
The engine started fairly easily when she turned the key in the ignition, which was enough for her. With her little 'mascot' perched on her shoulder, the tattooed human pulled out of her assigned place and made her way from the garage, heading in the familiar direction towards her workplace.

Continued from: Building B; Lynnette’s Apartment with Nick.
She had assured Nick that leaving things in a little bit of a mess was just fine with her; she wasn’t about to nag at him for such a thing since, sometimes, she was just as bad. She picked up after herself, but sometimes not right away. A little bit of casual laziness never hurt anyone, after all, and what was the point to life if you couldn’t kick back and relax every once in a while?
When they reached the parking garage, she had her hand linked in his, having slipped the keys into one of her pockets to keep them safe. She caught sight of Nick’s car as soon as they entered the space, and smiled to herself. It felt silly to smile at a car, but it was connected to Nick… which some would say was ridiculous or taking her affections a little too far, but she wasn’t about to run over and hug the BMW, so there was no harm done.

Had Lynnette hugged his car, Nick would have desperately wished for a camera so that he could get a photo, which would have become the desktop on his computer. He would have loved to show something like that off, but he would have been nice enough to just use it on his laptop, which he only ever used on his personal time.
He was still dragging his feet as much as he could get away with, not wanting to go to work even though the thought that the sooner he went the sooner he could get back kept popping into his mind. Pressing the appropriate button on his keychain, he unlocked the doors before leading Lynnette around to the passenger side and pulling open the door. Opening the glove compartment, he carefully pulled out Lynnette’s things without letting go of her hand and offered them to her.

Thankfully, Lynnette would not be hugging a car, Nick’s or not, anytime soon, so there would be no incriminating photos of her on anyone’s desktops, to be shown to the world. It was for the best that she didn’t know that would ever happen, were she to ever hug the BMW; she would either die of embarrassment, or find some harmless way to get her revenge on Nick for the photograph.
She was quiet as Nick retrieved her jewellery and cell phone for her; she took the latter first, pushing it down into her pocket before she reached out the short distance and took her necklace and ring. With a smile, she gently disengaged her hand from his, and went about first putting the necklace back on, letting it settle in its usual place below her collarbone.
The ring was next, and after glancing to Nick, she turned the band over, so the heart pointed towards her, putting it back on her finger and quietly admiring it for a moment. It seemed more pleasing to the eye all of a sudden, and she knew that was his ‘fault’ as well.

Nick couldn’t help the soft, affectionate smile that came to his face as he watched her put on the ring, noting the direction in which she made the heart point. It was amazing how much something so simple could say. He had never paid attention to how such small things could seem so major, but he couldn’t deny the warm, extremely happy feeling that he had been feeling all morning when he thought of Lynnette, which had intensified at watching her put on the ring.
He couldn’t help himself and gently pulled her close, kissing her. Since when had the world suddenly seemed to hold so much good? Since I met Lynnette, Nick told himself. That was an easy enough question to answer.
When he pulled away, Nick smiled again and reached back into the glove compartment and pulled out his necklace. Putting it on, he tucked it under his shirt. He was still torn between dragging his heels and leaving. He wanted to spend as much time with Lynnette as possible and going to work didn’t rate high on the list of things he wanted to do today, but he couldn’t wait to get back.

Watching Nick put his scarab necklace back in place, Lynnette smiled to herself, feeling the fingers of her left hand turning the ring on her right, feeling the metal shift delicately against the skin of her finger. It felt better this way, she thought to herself, no matter how ridiculous that might seem — it was a ring. How could it possibly feel different? It was a band of metal. But to the female werewolf, knowing it was worn differently for a reason… that was enough to justify her thoughts.
Stepping closer to him, she disengaged her hands, and wrapped her arms around his waist, breathing in his scent as she rested the side of her face against his chest, feeling his warmth and strength, and drawing comfort from it all over again. It was such a newfound reassurance, but one that she was swiftly coming to realise she would have a hard time living without now that she knew what it felt like.

When Lynnette put her arms around him, he put his own around her, giving a gentle squeeze and a soft smile. Everything he was feeling now was so foreign to him, but he could most certainly get used to it. He was realizing that he needed to feel this way. He had never noticed before because there had never been anyone he felt like this about, but now he had come to discover that he had been missing something that he had been needing. It was time to put his status as a ‘lone wolf’ in the past and he found that he was absolutely thrilled to be doing so.
Still smiling softly, Nick kissed the top of Lynnette’s head gently and knew that things would never be the same again. That, however, was perfectly fine with him. He didn’t want to go back to how he was and he knew that he would never want to. Nick knew that he would always want Lynnette there with him and he was going to do anything and everything he could to make sure that she was happy and safe.

Connor had always been a fan of horse riding. He had loved it during the time when to get from one great distance to another, a horse was pretty much the only form of transport around and Connor had always felt at ease when on horseback, looking down at the world from his position in the saddle and seeing everything pass by. In truth, he had been rather disappointed in the invention of the motor car, the new transport ending the use of horses as a serious means of transport. Riding in a car just wasn't the same, didn't afford the same kind of freedom that the horse did. To his relief however the motorcycle followed car and while still not the same as a horse it was a close second and on the back of his bike, throttle pushed down and wind blowing in his face, Conner felt extraordinarily free from his own life and choices.
That feeling of freedom was dangerous. It was false and could lead to doom, something Connor had to remind himself over and over again. He couldn't afford to relax.
He doubted he would be spending the night at Reese's 'new place' any time soon, no pack would like or have a rogue spending the night in the pack's main area and anyway, that sounded too much like a slumber party for Connor's tastes. He didn't say anything though, not wanting to depress the seemingly naive and innocent wolf in front of him who was now starting at his beauty of a bike in what Connor took to be awe.
“It's just like riding a horse,” Connor assured Reese, trying his best to ignore the other couple in the parking lot, recognizing from their scent that they were both werewolves, although his discomfort was more aimed at their actions than what they were. It wasn't any of his business to be staring at the obvious 'couple' in every sense of the word.

Nuzzled against Nick like she was, Lynnette felt lethargy try to creep back into her limbs, and she fought against a groan. No… she couldn’t get comfortable. It was that thought which made her pull back reluctantly. She didn’t want him to go to work, but she had heard his conversation with his boss, and knew that he needed to, if only to help a friend who had been involved in whatever accident had taken place.
“I hope there’s something good on the TV while you’re gone, or I’m going to go out of my mind.” She smiled a little sheepishly after the statement, hoping it hadn’t come out as lame as it now sounded to her own ears. It made her sound like a pathetic individual who needed that proximity or she would go mad, but she just wanted to enjoy every minute of his company that she could get her hands on. Lynnette wondered if that made her clingy or selfish… or possibly both.

“Well, you’re always more than welcome to go through my DVD collection if you want to. We’re going to be sharing it now anyway, so it’s really ours.” He smiled. “If you get tired of moving stuff into the apartment, you can just stretch out on the couch and watch movies. Or you can do that anyway and we’ll just do all of the moving when I get back. Either is fine with me.” He was reluctant to leave, but knew that he probably needed to be doing so soon.
“Do you realize what we didn’t do before we came out here? We didn’t stop off to see the landlord so I could buy out your lease. So what I’ll do is fill out a check save the amount and you can go see him and just fill it in when he tells you how much it’s going to be.” He wouldn’t hand over a blank check to anyone but Lynnette; he trusted her that much. “Just make a note of how much it is so that I’ve got it when I go to balance my checkbook?”

Lynnette didn’t doubt that she could pass some time by browsing through Nick’s DVD collection, even if she didn’t decide to watch anything. She had caught a glimpse of the spines of the cases once or twice while visiting his place — their place now, technically, she supposed — and had imagined there were many more where those ones had come from. Perhaps, if she found herself restless with nothing else to do later on, she would see what she could find.
Blinking when Nick informed her of their lapse, she laughed lightly. “Whoops,” she offered. She wasn’t sure why it had slipped their minds, but wasn’t about to stand there and try to analyse the reasons behind such a thing, especially when Nick suggested what he did next. Looking to his face, she studied his expression, seeing the sincerity there, which, given the offer, meant a hell of a lot. “Uh… if you’re sure. Sure. I mean, I can do that.”
How about you don’t fumble next time, hmm?

Nick’s DVD collection was probably nearing ‘insane’ proportions, but he liked to have a nice selection for when he got bored and decided that a movie was in order. His collection consisted of horror, action and sci-fi mostly. They were, in his opinion, the best sorts of movies, though he had a couple of documentaries thrown into the mix as well as a number of ‘real life’ ghost hunting things that he liked to watch on stormy nights. He supposed that he was just weird that way.
Nick gave a smile at Lynnette’s words and stepped away just enough to pull out his checkbook and a pen, using the hood of his car as a desk. “If any problems come up- they shouldn’t, but if they do- just have the landlord call me on my cell and I’ll get everything cleared up. I can do that and whatever work needs to be done. I’m just that talented.” He shot her a grin to let her know that he was just being silly and finished up with the check, carefully removing it from the book and handing it to her. “I think this should settle things up pretty well.”
