Continued from Carey Hall
Katrina's car had been securely parked about 4 blocks away. She and Eli were walking through a dark section of the city. She could see that he was struggling more with every second to hold in the wolf - a rat skittered along at one point and with lightening speed she killed it with one of her knives, waving the body around carelessly, blood spattering Eli.
"I lived on these when I came over on the ship. Blood all smells the same, doesn't it... hot and coppery." She threw it into a pile of trash bags and gave a purring smile. She knew what that would do. "Ready, Eli?"

His wolf roared within him at the dead rat, clawing at the surface. He’d actually cringed away from the knife rather than the deceased rodent impaled on it, and looked warily at Katrina. His only response to her question was a brief, shaky nod.
The beast within was more than ready. It wanted to run, and chase… hunt and kill. Eli didn’t want any of that. He never thought he would miss those chains so terribly…

Katrina looked up and down the alleyway - it was quiet. Time to start.
She moved to the side of the alley, out of the wolf's line of sight. She wasn't worried about him attacking her, but there was no point in being stupid. She didn't want to spend the evening disciplining him instead of having fun.
"Now, dog. Go!"

The wolf didn’t need to be told twice. The light was fading fast, and Eli was going with it. A split second before Katrina sounded her permission, he doubled over. The transformation was no less painful than it had been the night before, but out in the open, without the chains, it seemed easier somehow… he couldn’t register it through the fight to stay aware.
It was a fight that he, inevitably, lost.
The transformation overcame his entire body: hair sprouted; claws and fangs broke through; bone and cartilage shifted and changed shape; the wolf overwhelmed the human. When it was done, the towering lycanthrope snarled eagerly, jaws parted as its blazing green eyes surveyed the dirty space around it.
Freedom. Oh, how it wanted to howl…

Katrina lowered her voice - making it sultry, warm. "Eli... my Eli - time to go... go find something warm and alive... let's go scare it."
As she spoke she ran forward, her speed blinding, but the wolf would only need the mere suggestion to run. As soon as she rounded a corner, she leaped to the nearest window ledge and watched as her wolf took off, ready to follow.

Continued from: Flynn's Apartment
"Do I need anything other coffee?" Flynn muttered to himself, running down the list of everything he could think of that might be a possibility. "I got cat food earlier, along with milk and bread. I don't need sodas. How did I manage to forget coffee of all things? Okay, it's more likely than me forgetting cat food, but still." He shook his head and continued walking.

The wolf wasted no time. Either it didn’t register the scent of the vampire’s movement, or cared very little for undead quarry. Whatever the cause, he charged along the narrow backstreets, bounding fiercely and energetically around corners, and using walls as springboards and ricochet points as he raced. Scents and sounds raced to register in his brain, and steadily, one filled his nose that caused his hackles to rise up like electrified spikes.
He slowed, lowering himself into a stalking position… before he caught the shape of a shadow. His eyes lit up with feral, predatory excitement. Stealthily, quietly, he pounced up onto a nearby fire escape; the metal didn’t even clatter when he landed and began creeping along, following the man below.

Katrina had stopped briefly - a window had been open, and inside a woman slept. If there was one thing Katrina liked almost as much as the smell and taste of fear, it was the drugged surprise, then acceptance of a victim that didn't see it coming. She slid into the third story window effortlessly - her boots making no sound. The young woman lay in her bed, sleeping soundly.
Katrina moved to the side of the bed and purred low. "Sleep on, lovely... sleep on.... soon you'll sleep more deeply than you could imagine." Her power licked across her skin as she sat carefully on the side of the bed, stroking the woman's thick brown hair out of her face. She murmured low, but Katrina shook her head giving a soft "sh"... "Sleep on..."
The woman gave a soft smile in her sleep... Katrina's lips curved into a slow smirk, and then in a blink, her fangs were out. The woman's eyes opened once, wide - mouth open in a silent "O" - Katrina's power sank into her, and not a noise escaped her lips. Her life drained away. Katrina finished, sitting up and licking her lips carefully.
Her skin was flushed and healthy looking now. With one move, her knife was in her hand - she sliced the woman's neck from side to side, the remaining blood soaking into the bed. The puncture wounds now gone and the amount of blood loss undetectable thanks to the soaking into the mattress... Katrina moved out of the window, blowing a kiss to the body.
"Delicious. Now... where's my puppy...."

Flynn continued on his way, concentrating on getting to the store and getting back home so that he could get comfortable again and pass the night reading on the sofa and knowing that there was coffee to be had in the morning. With any luck, Mica would even refrain from putting her claws into him again tonight. Just in case, he thought he would pick something up to bribe her with. He considered something with catnip in it, but after the way she had been acting before he had left the apartment, he thought that perhaps that was not such a good idea. Maybe some sort of nice little soft toy that she could get her claws into and rip the head off of if that was what she got into her little kitty mind. She could do it, too. Flynn had found the heads of several little stuffed toys under his bed, hoarded away by his hyperactive calico.
He was not sure of what it was, but something was not quite right. A soft frown came to his face and he stopped for a moment, listening. There were no sounds that indicated there was something out of the ordinary, but Flynn simply could not push down the feeling that there was need to put a rush on things. Not one to argue with such an instinct, he started forward again, going a bit quicker than he had been.

The prey was frightened. The wolf could practically taste it, his mouth watering as he parted his maw hungrily. He could almost hear the blood rushing through the man’s veins, and it made his heart pump frantically in anticipation. This was what he had been waiting for… the chase… the kill.
With little more than a growl, he trotted briskly and stealthily along the fire escapes, until they ran out. Undeterred, he bounded over the last railing, soaring down into the backstreets and landed perfectly on a closed dumpster not twenty feet behind his intended victim. His eyes glimmered bestially in the light, and saliva dripped from his large fangs as his jaws opened. So close…

The sound of something slamming against the dumpster caused Flynn to start noticeably and, against his better judgement, he turned to see what it had been. Whatever he had been expecting, it had not been the sight that greeted him. Something- a werewolf?!- was atop it, watching him and showing its fangs. Fight or flight took hold and since fighting wasn't something Flynn was capable of even against a human, he wheeled around and took off, heading in the direction he had been going, wishing that he would suddenly wake up and realize that he had fallen asleep on the sofa.

And the chase was on.
With a feral, eager snarl, the mass of lycanthropic power bounded off the dumpster, claws raking into the solid ground underfoot as it landed, and shot forward in pursuit. The chase would make the capture and kill all the more thrilling; the adrenaline that pumped through the human’s body would make the end result all the more satisfying. The wolf growled hungrily, tearing along after his intended prey.
The human had no chance of outrunning him. And that made the wolf want to howl with laughter…

The menacing sounds from the creature kept Flynn moving; though he accepted the fact that he couldn't outrun something like that, he wasn't going to stop and just let it maul him to death. At least this way, it had to do a little work before it could settle into eating him or whatever it might have planned. He whipped around a corner and kept going, already panting slightly- more from fear than being tired- but determined to cover as much ground as possible before he got attacked. He had never wanted something to be a dream so badly in his life.

Little did Flynn know, the wolf enjoyed the build-up… working for the final result. The human’s flight was only making the wolf all the more eager to catch him, but it was also enjoying the chase… it was probably the only reason he hadn’t pounced yet.
His taloned paws thundered over the ground as his large limbs propelled him forward, bringing him closer and closer to the human, maw parted greedily in preparation as a snarl broke free, splitting the air between them. Everything else failed to register to the intent lycanthrope; right at that moment, all that existed was himself, and his prey.

Katrina nearly laughed aloud as she sprinted, keeping the werewolf in sight easily. The human was running like a scared rabbit - she knew Eli could have pounced on the human a block earlier, but had begun to simply chase him. Her dog was enjoying the chase, and she felt like she used to as royalty - the hunt was on.
Her hair whipped in the wind as she ran on, easily staying in sight, and saw that the gap was closing - as Eli approached, a thought occured to her... and the more she considered it, the more she liked it.
"No, Eli. I think he'll not be your meal tonight....." she murmured it as she watched, eyes gleaming.
