In the back of the Alpha's mind, he could feel her exhaustion and anxiety from the night before; for all her scrap, she still had trouble fighting the wolf. He remembered all those years ago, despite her age, how close she had come to taming the creature. It made him smile, if only faintly. And now she was confined to some cell; locked away like a beast.
If only you'd stayed with me, Snow White... Lucian Mar stretched lazily from his perch on the stone bench, shaking his head sadly. No matter. It wouldn't be long before she would be back with her true pack, strong and on top once more.
"Luc?"
He turned his brown eyes toward the voice and smirked to himself. "Levi," the Alpha greeted his best fighter, then nodded. "Go on and let them out. And be careful this time, for chrissake. They're tired."
Ramski just gave a short mock bow with a grin before he exited, going to let the young ones free from confinement. Levi's mean streak was occasionally annoying, but more often than not, it led to much amusement, so Lucian never bother to chastise him. Someone had to keep the others on their toes...

Farryn jumped the last two steps into the main entrance in one step, barely breaking her stride. She saw what she assumed was Levi Ramski's back retreating through the Manor, it was confirmed quickly by scent and she turned dark eyes front and centre again. He was probably going to let the younger wolves out, the thought brought a slight wicked smile to her features, all their aches and pains; how she didn't envy them those. Finding the tender spots on her personal punching bag had to be one of the perks of the time of the month for her.
She smacked her hands together in front of her as she honed in on Lucian, swinging her arms above her head and stretching slightly as she walked. Her pace slowed as he came into view and she dropped her arms to her sides where they skimmed against her leather pants lightly as she came to a stop a few feet away. "Getting some air?" she asked, her head tilted to the side, voice husky with sleep still.

He didn't bother to respond to her question, merely quirked his mouth into a ghost of a smile before he held out a hand for her. "How do you like it here, 'Ryn?" he queried casually. "Is the manor to your liking?"
Lucian would be the first to admit that, yes, he did love Farryn in one way or another. She was strong and ruthless, willing to do anything for the good of the pack. So what if she was a bit of a mean bitch? Lucian could take the good with the bad, and besides, there were a good few of the pack that needed a firm hand like hers.

Farryn looked around as if appraising their surroundings for a silent moment as she reached out and stepped forwards to take Lucian's hand in one of her own, her fingers knitting their way through his. After a moment she nodded slightly, eyes back to his "I like it," she said, "plenty of rooms, plenty of space for the pack..." she trailed off.
To say that she thought the world of Lucian would have been an understatement. She wasn't stupid, she suspected she knew why they were in Los Angeles, but she simply focussed on other things instead. She didn't ask for confirmation. "What about you?" she asked.

A light tug brought his counterpart down to his level and Lucian shifted to let Farryn sit with him on the bench. His arms wrapped lazily across her shoulders and he took a moment before he replied, burying his nose into her rich brown hair with an appreciative growl.
"Former owner had good taste," he admitted. Some of his old Irish lilt returned to color his voice. "I'll give the poor bastard that much. We should have plenty of room if we decide to add to our ranks."

She sat down with what passed as obedience in her movements and she smiled in satisfaction as his arms slipped around hers, as her hair shifted with his movement. She returned the growl, her body weight rocking against his lightly and closing her eyes briefly.
When she spoke her accent was not dissimilar to his, an Irish cadence slipping into her words, "He did." She agreed, with a nod that was more of an action of feral affection aimed at keeping Lucian close by more than anything else, "Do you think we'll 'welcome' many more members while we're here?" she asked.

"I don't see why not."
He nuzzled her in a lazy fashion, feeling his wolf rumble deep within him and mimicking the sound. It vibrated through his chest, half-growl and half-purr while he took in more of his counterpart's scent. They didn't particularly need more members; in Lucian's opinion, they were strong and large enough. But things changed, and they had only just gotten here.
He knew that soon, they would have at least one 'new' member among them. They may have been seperated, but her consciousness was still there in the back of his mind like the rest of the pack. He could still influence her, invade her dreams...and he would. She would come back to him.

Farryn enjoyed the nuzzling and the noises rumbling out of Lucian as he held her close on the stone bench. The sunlight was warming her hair from above, slowly, and all in all she was looking forwards to the day, whatever it held. She thought about the expansion of the pack quietly for a moment or two, wondering how many rogues would be absorbed into the ranks, her thoughts mundane, routine.
They were strong as they were. But there was always from for enlargement the family, and Farryn was a supporter of such things, even if the decision lay firmly with her mate in the end. If he decided that were fine as they were or not, well, that was the end of the story in her mind.
An index finger skimmed the front of his shirt, her own wolf giving a small, appreciative growl at the contact, though she remained in silent agreement with him otherwise, he knew she'd back up any decision he made, that was simply the way she was.

He gave a quiet, contented groan and bowed his head, kissing lightly at her shoulder, and then the side of her neck. Farryn was a good leader. She was loyal to him, she was firm, she was cunning. He loved hunting with her, or watching her hunt; she loved the adrenaline rush that came with it, and he loved the way it brought her to life.
Smiling crookedly, he let his mouth settle against the hinge of her jaw as he spoke, "We could go hunting tonight. See what we can find on the last night of the moon...would you like that, 'Ryn?"

Noise curled through her throat deeply at his kisses, low and content to match the sounds of her mate and Farryn even shuddered a little at the contact, especially as he spoke into the soft skin at the crux of her jaw, his words warm and provocative against the flesh there.
The bright blue glow in her eyes would have been enough of an answer to his question. Would Farryn like to hunt? Of course she would. Thee was something in the freeness of hunting, the way she could just let herself go that was intoxicating to the brunette. Since he couldn't see the way her wolf strained a little at the surface she responded vocally too, "I'd like that..." she said quietly, "...the perfect way to end the lunar cycle..."

"As you wish."
The murmured statement was low and almost husky; somewhat growled as his wolf surfaced a bit. While he focused on Farryn, lightly kissing her jaw and neck in an almost playful fashion, he also pulled his attention inward, honing his mind, weaving images and memories together into a kind of net.
Even though there was a fairly large distance between them, Lucian could still dig his mental hooks into her. Even when the pack had still been halfway across the country, there was still the vague presence of her mind. But now he was close enough to work his trap; with a sly, wolfish grin against Farryn's skin, he cast the psychic net out and felt it close around his target's mind.
I have you now, Snow White. It's only a matter of time...

As you wish. She loved it when he said things like that, he probably knew she did too, the inflection, the tone of voice, the precision of the words, it made her feel... it made her feel like she was the centre of his attention. Not matter how far from the truth at any given time that actually was. Farryn's hand closed around his shirt a little as his kissed the sensitive skin of her neck, all light sighs and tiny growls as silence fell again.
She wasn't especially talkative unless she had something to say. Benign chatter had never been a strong point of the female's and she usually let Luc' lead with his thoughts. She assumed that if he wasn't talking he was thinking, and she didn't want to interrupt that. She'd rather enjoy the moment as she wolf was anyway.

With his mental snare set, Lucian let himself focus completely on his current mate. This affectionate, gentle, and oddly sane facet of his personality was one that he reserved especially for Farryn. She deserved it, of course, after having put up with his fits of rage and bouts of depression for more than a century. They were a formidable pair, these Alphas, both ready to challenge anyone who dared doubt them; Lucian was stronger with 'Ryn at his side, and vice versa.
But, even as he lavished his attention on his mate, kissing her neck and shoulder, he could sense the irritation that eminated from those confined in the basement. Tyler, Lucy, Ryan andn the others...he gave a vaguely irritated sigh against Farryn's shoulder. "Darling," he murmured to her. "Did you see Ramski heading toward the basement?"

Naturally, Farryn always enjoyed the attention she received from her mate and when he sighed against her with a slight flicker of annoyance she too felt irritation. With him her temper was assuaged easily, her snappish tones and derisive expressions were things that lesser wolves bore the brunt of. Here, like him, she was relatively... normal.
She blinked, her eyes opening, "I did," she responded, "Or he looked like he was going down to the basement."

Another sigh, this one rattling with a hint of a growl behind it. Levi was Lucian's best fighter, but damned if that attitude of his didn't get annoying from time to time. Granted, there were times when he got into his little, spiteful moods that made him absolutely hilarious to watch, particularly when Martin was around.
"Why don't you go occupy yourself, lover?" he suggested, kissing Farryn lightly on the cheek. "I should go let the young ones out of confinement.
