They had a kind of sixth sense around each other after all these years together; Bella was aware of Neal's movements, the subtle shifts in his stance, without turning her face towards him. Instead her eyes were on the male bearing down on her. No doubt he would gladly take both her and her mate down if he could, eradicating the elder fighters was most likely a priority if this was a co-ordinated attack and she had a sneaking, sickening suspicion that it might be. As he came to her she slid a foot behind the full weight of her body, as his swing came around she dipped and darted out beneath him, turning the machete in her hand with the intent to drive it up and into his ribs, to slice between them and use his height and weight against him. What she didn't anticipate was the speed he moved at.
One moment he was following through with the punch and the next he was grabbing her weapon by the blade without so much as a blink or a flinch, not even a word. Isabella was too shocked to do anything but open her mouth as she wrenched the blade sideways, taking her much smaller, lighter form with it. His boot came up and he kicked her right in the chest. She bit her tongue and blood filled her mouth as she felt her arm pop, waiting a moment too long to release the machete's handgrip as the force of the kick propelled her away with incredible force. How old was this creature? she wondered as she skidded on feet and the palm of one hand back across the floor, through puffs of roiling, peppery smoke. What experience did he have in his past that made him so fast and so immune to pain?
Kincaid had turned his eyes on the male, knowing the female would be back in a moment but also knowing he was facing a fight on two fronts here and to ignore one would not be intelligent of him.

Being able to read one another so well was a blessing, Neal could tell from a simple glance just what his mate was planning to do and as such he could make sure he matched her moves to aide her in the best way possible. His attention was mostly on the male as he moved with unbelievable speed across the floor at them. Neal didn't like the presence of this stranger in their home or the fact that he had been attacking others that while not incapable of defending themselves weren't fighters. The fact his attention had quickly shifted to him and his mate when Bella had launched their attack told him one thing, this male knew where the bigger threat would be and he would try and remove it. Neal shifted his weight on his feet in preparation to take a swing at the male after Bella's machete met his body. That didn't happen though.
The next few moments seemed to go in slow motion as he watched his mate's weapon get grabbed mid swing and a boot connect with her chest. Before she had even come to a stop on the floor he was moving, his Claymore raised for an attack on the male who seemed to have no pain threshold and speed that didn't match his size. Neal swung his weapon towards his opponent aiming for his arm and hoping to do some damage that might just slow the male down. He tried to anticipate the other male's moves but his speed caught the fighter out just as it had his mate and instead of hitting his arm his weapon swung wide and left Neal close enough for the male to grab. The unwelcome feeling of fingers closing around his throat making the already hard job of breathing with smoke in the air next to impossible. His free hand reaching for one of his hunting knives attached to his belt in an effort to get the male to release his hold before he lost consciousness and his life.

Kincaid wrapped his large hand around the male's throat and gave him a vicious squeeze, close to breaking the neck he held, his other hand coming up to stop the knife before it could do much damage when his eyes saw the female racing towards him, recovered. Discarding the male, still alive, Kincaid smashed his forehead into his opponent's face and threw him away like trash just in time to face the female.
Bella threw a flourish of knives at the huge male and they hit him in his barrel chest in a zig-zag pattern but it didn't seem to phase him and it certainly didn't stop him. He tore them out with a sweep of his arm. Bella could feel her rage coming in hot pulses of blood through her body; she saw Neal tossed away and she recognised that familiar panic within her, that white hot knowledge that this bastard of a male would kill Neal in a heartbeat, could have killed him a moment ago. It was enough to have the female launch herself at the enemy. His massive hands grappled her by the shoulder and thigh, he was big and powerful but she was small and quick an in this case her lightness and her deftness worked in her favour, if only a little. Bella wrapped an arm around the back of his head, all but flipping herself over him as he tried to keep a hold on her small frame. She wrenched him backwards, coming down to her feet and locking her hands around his neck but he twisted at her last moment and grabbed her about the waist, pulling her off her feet and slamming her down into the ground with more power than she knew what to do with.

The pressure around his throat continued to increase as he fought to stay conscious and bring his knife in to play, the other male easily stopping the knife without any sign that he was worried about the damage it might do. The sudden pain from a forehead to the face stunned him enough that he didn't realise he'd been thrown until he hit the wall at an angle, pain exploding through his back as he landed on the floor. It took him a moment to gain his bearings and right himself enough to see the fight developing between his mate and the large male, anger rising as he got to his feet to get back to the fight and help Bella.
A roar of anger surged out of him as he saw Bella get slammed in to the ground by the male, all thoughts of his own pain pushed down as he moved to defend his mate. He bent to pick up his Claymore from where it had fallen when the strange wolf had tried to choke the life out of him, spinning the blade in his hand as he went he charged towards the male without hesitation. A twist of his wrist sent the blade for the male’s side, Neal putting as much power behind the swing as he could muster, using his anger to block out everything else but the fight and the need to protect Bella. The fire was forgotten as he was faced with the very real threat that this male would kill Bella without a second thought. All he could do was hope that the blade hit home and knocked the strange wolf from his current attack, if it had been any ordinary enemy there would have been a good chance the blow would seriously injure if not kill them but Neal was left wondering if this wolf even felt pain, so far it seemed as if he didn’t though he could always hope that the wolf just had a higher than normal pain threshold and he would soon succumb.

Kincaid did not feel pain, no. Not really. not in any way that he could not rationalise away and accept, once you accepted pain it lost its power over you. Sheppard had taught him that a very long time ago. Pain, he did not feel but power? That was another thing all together. There was no changing the laws of phsyics and when a werewolf steamed into you at full tilt there was no wishing that away, there was no accepting and nullifying that with logic. When the male crashed its weapon into his side Kincaid's grip on the dazed female was released. He reeled back, twisting as he went to wrap his hand around the one holding the claymore.
"Neal," Bella choked from the floor, her voice was crushed down to nothing more than a whipser but she could see her mate clearly enough, fighting the strange male off her, protecting her. Naturally. The only way to beat this unnatural wolf was to attack together if they could manage it between his frighteningly swift reflexes. Bella shoved herself to her feet again, gritting her teeth, her eyes shining the pale colour of her wolf as she ran as fast as her battered body could muster into the pair of them. She grabbed at teh kinves protruding from the male's chest, jamming them in deeper, as deep as she could, hoping to puncture something, hopign to tear him open. He only grunted, grabbed her wrist with his free hand and snapped it like a twig.

Neal didn't feel his pain but it was only because he was more focused on protecting Bella and driving this strange wolf from their home. Later he would feel every single bruise and ache but now there were more important things to focus on. When his weapon connected with the enemy there was a moment of relief as he saw Bella released from the grip of the other male. When he heard Bella speak his name it allowed him to narrowly avoided being grabbed by the male as he refocused on Neal and his claymore. His anger so strong that his eyes were shot through with the golden yellow of his wolf, the longer the fight went on the more he wanted to just change and rip this male to pieces for the intrusion and attack on their home.
He sensed more than saw Bella get to her feet and re-enter the fight, shifting his weight on his feet to move enough to allow his mate to join the current attack on the intruder. The only way they would end this fight was if they attacked together. Neal reaching for one of his own knives as Bella grabbed the knives protruding from the male's chest to jam them in deeper, he saw the male grab for her wrist but was too late to stop the sickening snap that came as he broke her wrist. A roar of anger torn from his throat as the wolf surged forward at the sound of his mate's wrist being snapped like a twig. Neal advanced on the enemy on two legs as a deep growl of warning was issued; he'd had enough of this male in their home. He charged towards him with teeth bared, his jaws opening to clamp down on whatever he could get hold of.

In the moments before Neal changed she felt it, like a premonition; that change in the air she she, as his mate, could feel against her skin like electricity in the air. Through the pain of her broken wrist it was the only thing that mattered, it very likely helped her to hold onto cohesion as the unknown male tossed her away again like trash, as she hit the burning inner wall of the lobby and fell to the floor. Her lungs were full of black dirt and debris, they felt constricted, her eyes burning viciously. The smoke was so thick that she could barely see them now, just their shapes, the unmistakeable and massive shape of her mate in wolf form. Bella wished in vain that she could use her bow and arrows, at this distance she could lend Neal ranged support but with a broken wrist it was a useless thought. Her machete was her next best bet and she unhooked it awkwardly.
Kincaid had been expecting the change in a way. It would be illogical for neither of them to change in a fight that they were clearly not winning. A fight that they could not win. They would never be able to win. There was no need for him to change, and he did not feel the need, either. Silently, expression blank, he caught the maw of this raging wolf, one hand on the upper jaw the other on the lower, even as the speed and weight of the creature propelled them both backwards.

It was impossible to miss the sight or the sound of their Alpha male in the lobby, even through the roiling smoke. That roar was so loud she was sure they'd had to have heard it outside even with the sounds of the hotel collapsing in on itself, the upper floors losing their battle against the flames. Regina did not stop to help though, she would only be a hindrance, only get in the way. Neal and Bella would want her to focus on survivors, she was sure, on Mikhail and anyone else she could collect on the way.
So Regina ran right past them , skipping up what was left of the main stairs, taking them two and three at a time, side stepping patches of burning carpet and disintegrating banister.

Neal was focused on his new attack on their enemy, seeing Bella flung to the side like she was nothing just spurred him on further. The anger so strong that he wouldn't have been able to stop his charge even if he'd wanted to. Nothing would stop him from making this male pay for treating his mate that way, it didn't matter that the smoke had gotten so thick that his lungs burned with every breath or that even with his heightened senses he was struggling to see anything apart from what was right in front of him. He was aware of Bella and where she was but he couldn't really see her through the heavy smoke that was filling the lobby, he knew that she was still alive and he somehow knew that she would be back in the fight any moment, he just had to keep the other male busy until she could rejoin the fray.
The feeling of the male's hands on his jaws made him growl again, another warning that would likely do nothing, this wolf wasn't fazed by anything it seemed and that only made Neal more determined to get rid of him anyway he could. He crashed against the male with enough force that they both went flying backwards. Neal shaking his head vigorously to try and dislodge the hands that had hold of his jaws so that he could do some damage. He brought his rear legs up kicking out with his claws as he did, using anything he could to break the other male's hold on him and do damage in the process.

His grip tightened on the jaw bones he held, saliva spattering his arms. Kincaid did not care. He would rip this male in two from head to tail from that grasp and then he would toss the broken mess out into the street so that the others would see. Sheppard would be pleased by that. It would get the message across clearly. It would be chaotic. This male's attachment to his female was a weakness, plain and simple. Kincaid had known that the moment the fight had started.
Bella was closing in. Through the smoke she was sure she spotted Regina, Casey and Lee tearing past and up the steps, perhaps to liberate pack members trapped in rooms above them. She hoped they got out alive again. She knew that she and Neal had to buy them time to do whatever it was they were trying to. When she was close enough to see Neal through the smoke and the hold the male had on him and swung her good arm back and brought it hurling down into the forearm of the unknown male. The blade buried but he was reacting before she had finished swinging and she couldn't hack the arm free completely as she might have liked. Still he let go of Neal.

He felt the male's grip on his jaws tighten even as he shook to try and get free. He knew he was in a dangerous situation and he was trying everything he could to get out of it before the other male decided to rip him in half. He would fight until he physically couldn't, this male could do whatever he wanted it wouldn't stop him from defending the pack. Neal would give his life to protect the others, that was what a fighter did and that was what he would do if it was what had to happen to allow the others enough time to get out to safety.
Neal was vaguely aware of others moving quickly through the lobby but he didn't let that shift his focus. He knew even a momentary slip would give this intruder the window he'd need to take Neal out of the fight permanently. He was aware of Bella closing in on them before he saw her blade swing down and bury in the male's arm, the attack making him release his hold on Neal's jaws. He backed up a pace and shook his head slightly before lunging forward again. His attack this time aimed low, his jaws opening the moment before he reached his target in the hopes he'd be able to bury his teeth in to the flesh of the male's leg before he had a chance to react.

It was a good tactic. To work together. To use their strengths in order to try and create a weakness in him. A good tactic but ultimately one that would fail. Kincaid was distracted slightly by the machete in his arm and he shoved the female away hard enough in her sternum to hear something crack. With his good hand he grabbed the machete, breathing slightly harder now that he had the male's jaws clamped around his leg. Without the female to interfere he lifted the bladed and swung it down into the wolf's shoulder with an almighty crunch.
Bella heard it but she couldn't see what had happened. Her breathing went laboured and wet and Bella saw spots of light around the edges of her vision. When she became aware of her surroundings again she had a knee on the floor, her good hand clutching her chest.

They worked well together, they always had done and with the length of time that they had been together they had only gotten better at working together. Neal saw the male shove Bella away from them and he heard the crack as the blow landed, it made him clamp down harder on the leg he'd gotten a grip on and he shook his head as he attempted to do enough damage to have an effect on the other male. He was so focused on his grip that he didn't notice the machete heading for his shoulder.
The pain exploded through his shoulder as the blade cleaved muscle making him release his grip. A roar of anger and pain was torn from him as he turned to try and get the arm that held the machete before the male could land another blow. The pain pushed from his mind for the moment as he refocused on the fight and giving the rest of the pack enough time to escape the burning remains of their home.
