Allowing Gemma to enter first was simple, natural gentlemanly behaviour for Marco. He’d been raised that way, so he didn’t even hesitate to hold the door open for her, and let her take the lead, following behind her. Lorenzo seemed content to bring up the rear. He couldn’t help but wonder what made the other werewolf so tentative, but it wasn’t his place to ask; it was none of his business, so he let it drop.
A waitress came over to them, inquiring as to the amount of diners. They confirmed there would only be three of them, and then they were led to a table, where the same waitress handed them their menus, and asked if she could get them anything to drink.
Once again, Marco waited for Gemma to go first.

And, once again, Gemma's face took on a subtle pink tinge as she smiled, nodding briefly at Marco before she made to follow the waitress. They were seated before long and the young librarian did her best to keep her cool. She wasn't used to these sort of social gatherings. True, there were only two other people, but for the most part, they were strangers to her.
You've got to atleast try. You know full well that you don't get out nearly enough.
"Well," she murmured finally, giving a tiny smile. "Like I said, I suggest the ziti. But the pizza is really good, too."

“Well, who am I to doubt the recommendation of a lady?” Marco said rather casually, glancing through the menu; nothing was leaping out at him, and it wasn’t as if he would turn down any kind of food on the peak night of the full moon. His wolf just wanted something to eat, and was growling hungrily inside him. “My knowledge of Italian is limited, so I’ll trust your judgement,” he told Gemma, nodding to the waitress, who then noted down the order.
After adding a glass of red wine to the order, he allowed himself to relax in his seat somewhat. The waitress looked to the other two diners, pen at the ready. She smiled pleasantly, but Marco could tell she was restless, and wanted to get back to the kitchen, for whatever reason. Maybe it was time for her break.

Gemma managed to smile without blushing - quite a feat, to be sure. She briefly skimmed the menu and ordered herself a glass of white wine to go along with her own order of ziti. Her bespectacled eyes flickered to Lorenzo and she flashed the shy man a brief smile.
"Um...if you like, we can split my order so you can try some. I probably won't eat it all, anyway."

It was hard not to giggle. Something about Lorenzo's nervousness was almost endearing. The librarian smiled at her skittish companion and nodded. "I am indeed a fan of sausage pizza," she told him. Both males received timid, but bright, smiles as she continued, "Which should be strange, since most of my family has gone veggie. My way I've being the rebel, I suppose."
And I'm rambling. Fabulous...

The sudden nervous jolt of nervous energy from Lorenzo nearly made Gemma jump in her seat. Outwardly, she did no more than sit up a little straighter and tried her best to sit still; the sudden urge to start bouncing her leg nervously was overwhelming.
"No work tonight, Marco?" she smiled at the taller man, attempting small talk. "Figured they'd really need you down at the club -- always seems to get crazy there at the full moon."

Clearly, Lorenzo wasn’t comfortable, but Marco wasn’t the type to randomly call someone on their behaviour, unless it could prove to be a threat to himself, or anyone else in the area who could be harmed without due reason. Gemma counted in that category, but Lorenzo didn’t seem dangerous at all… just skittish.
“Oh, I have a few days off. Yesterday, today and tomorrow. I like to avoid the ‘crazies’ that get out there at full moon… people pretending to be vampires and all that sort of thing.” He made a non-committal motion with his hand; a wave at best. His smile was gentle, and easily hid his amusement. “Not to mention the people in the alley who howl at the sky; chasing them away got boring after the first month.”

Gemma chuckled briefly around the rim of her water glass. "I'd imagine you'd get crazies like that on a constant basis. This city isn't exactly know for being the most mellow place around."
She noticed Lorenzo's subdued demeanor and glanced momentarily at the blue-eyed man. Briefly, she flashed a friendly smile. Strange. Usually she was the one who needed to be dragged out of her shell.

Marco turned his glass on the table calmly as he and Gemma spoke, Lorenzo obviously choosing to let them carry on without his interruptions. The other wolf made Marco curious, but he’d already promised himself he wouldn’t even try and sate that curiosity. It was none of his business.
“Well, no, there is that.” He allowed the librarian a smile. “And the club seems to be like a magnet. I prefer to steer clear for a few days around that time; let it calm down a little so I don’t get dragged into the mess.” Of course, the human sitting across from him had no idea how deeply entangled in that ‘mess’ her two companions already were. But then again, Marco wasn’t about to enlighten her.

Gemma gave a quiet laugh. "I don't either, Lorenzo," she admitted. Again, the waitress appeared, this time with wine and a basket of hot, fresh bread. Gemma's eyes lit up at the sight of the baked goods. "Oh, wonderful -- apparently, Mrs. Gi's been using the same recipe that her grandmother brought over from Sicily. This stuff is to die for..."
She took a slice, and then returned her attention to Lorenzo and their earlier topic. "I don't go out much," she told him, blushing for a moment as she smiled. "Not much for loud, drunken crowds."
