Continued from: Alleys and Streets; The Outskirts
He felt like he was almost insane from the pain now and combined with all the noise and sound it was just too much. There was noise everywhere, strange and frightening sounds that he didn’t understand. Overpowering scents that assaulted him from every direction, scents of other wolves, of humans and vampires. The white wolf skulked down the alley, his movements getting slower and slower.
Tobin stopped in front of a metal door, head lifted high into the air as he sniffed. Painfully, he rose to two feet, limbs shaking slightly under the weight as he leaned against the door and sniffed again, this time closer to the small window which was slightly open. Tobin could smell flowers, and his mind flashed back to a time he had all but forgotten. There was a woman in his memory, her features too vague to make out but she embodied safety. She smelt like flowers.
He pressed his body against the door, thinking of nothing else but getting closer to the scent to safety. It creaked and groaned under his weight before with a sudden snap, swung open. Instantly he dropped to all fours, cowering slightly in the alley, ears flat against his head. Nothing seemed to happen and so he cautiously entered, heading for the origin of the smell.
