(Continued from Upstairs Office -- Narcotics Division with Chris)
Sarah entered the briefing room and exchanged generic pleasantries with a few of the other officers who had already gathered. "Anybody ever have that dream," she quipped, "where we all show up for the briefing and get told that 'Crime was canceled in L.A. this morning, you all get free passes to Disneyland'?"

Listening to his partner as they took their seats at the back of the room, he chuckled to himself, leaning back in his seat with his arms crossed. Some officers were still standing, occupying places around the back and sides of the room when all the chairs were filled. “Can’t say I’ve ever had that dream,” he replied, turning his head to her at an angle, smiling. Clearly, after eating something and giving his mind something to focus on, he was more awake than when she had arrived. “It’d be a nice change of pace, though.”
A few more minutes passed, and then their division captain entered the room, a respectable man of fifty, give or take, with dark hair and intelligent grey eyes; Dan Lewis was shorter than Chris — understandably, given the sergeant was actually one of, if not the tallest in their entire division — but taller than Sarah, comfortably in between at around five-ten. He took his place at the front of the room, after giving it a once-over, before he started going through the day-to-day bits and pieces they all apparently needed to hear.
Chris slouched subtly into his chair a little more, listening to Lewis from his place at Sarah’s side.

(slight timeskip)
Sarah rubbed her face as the briefing concluded. "I think I'm putting in for my vacation soon," she muttered to Chris as they stood up. "A week of doing nothing is starting to sound really good." She considered it, following him out of the room. "Hell. Maybe I will go to Disneyland. Never have managed to get there."

Pausing outside the door, turning to Sarah as other officers shuffled off; some to do tasks given to them by their captain, and others simply back to their desks to catch up on paperwork, or get a head-start on something or other. “I’m trying to picture you at Disneyland,” he said to her, narrowing his eyes a little and furrowing his brow before laughing. “I’m having a hard time, obviously.” Grinning, he dodged back away from her lazy half-swat, and led the way back to their desks.
