Oddities: Like most of his kind, Jon’s eyes will flash or flood to the vibrant color of his wolf’s if he is angry, startled, or feeling any sort of overwhelming emotion.
Personality: The nickname Shadow stems directly from Jonathan’s demeanor, and the fact that he will occasionally ‘shadow’ various packmates (especially the Alphas) during outings. He is quiet, almost to the point of being sullen and broody, but never really unpleasant. An introvert, he prefers to be on his own with a book or firing off a few arrows for practice. However, when spoken to, his is polite and fairly friendly, though he has never really be able to banish the heavy brogue from his voice.
As a fighter, he takes his duty to the pack deadly seriously and does not play around, when the safety of his packmates is concerned. The tendency to be overprotective is there, and Jon tries not to be, but most of the time, he can’t help it. Normally level-headed, he will turn violent in an instant if any of the pack are threatened, the Alphas especially. He loves both Rayne and Dante, in his own way, recognizes and respects them greatly as leaders, and as a dutiful pack member and pack fighter, will follow them so long as they choose to head the pack.
Weaknesses: Intolerance to silver; exposure can hurt or kill him, depending on the situation. His willingness to protect the pack can occasionally steal all reason from him and nearly got him killed, in one instance.
Abilities: Jon’s aim is impeccable; he has great skill with any ranged weapon. Firearms are his forte (he is ambidextrous), but he is also extremely skilled with a bow, and he knows a good deal of street-fighting techniques, but still prefers long-range combat. He can speak a bit of German and swears fluently in Gaelic.
Weapons: Two bows: a short bow that belonged to his father, and a modern compound bow with various types of arrows. A set of Colts, holstered at his waist, and a small combat knife normally kept in his boot.
Prized Possessions: The two posey rings and his father’s bow.
Home(s): The Four Seasons on Rayne’s end of town.
History: Jonathan’s father was a farmer in Ireland, so the first few years of the Jonathan’s life were spent learning the trade and helping to provide for his family. Farming, archery, and family were the three constant things in his life, and Jon loved it. But then, on the winter of his 19th birthday, things changed. A fever swept through the village. Jon’s mother was the first to suffer and die, then his little sister, Shannon. Jon and his father struggled along as best they could until the pair of them became ill, as well. The elder Everdeane passed on quickly, and Jon was near death until a stranger happened by, looking for shelter for the night. She found Jon and managed to nurse him back to health. Her name was Deirdre.
Deirdre stayed with Jon even after he had regained his strength. They got the farm back on its feet and grew closer as a pair until Jon finally built up the nerve to ask for her hand in marriage. It was the night of their wedding when Deirdre revealed her true nature: she was a werewolf. Jon was shocked at first, but he loved the woman desperately, and asked her to turn him so that they might live together for all eternity. She complied, and life was good for more than two centuries. But, when returning home from the market one night, Deirdre was cornered, tortured, and killed by a gang of vampires. Jon went looking for her when it got to be too late and when he found her lifeless body, he stayed there, cradling his lost beloved as his heart shattered.
With nothing left in Ireland, Jon left for America in 1899 and wandered the country for a time, living life as an aimless drifter. He found Rayne’s pack just after the female had won the Alpha title and, after seeing the group in battle, approached and swore loyalty to them. His skills with a bow earned him a place within the fighting ranks and Jon threw himself into the task whole-heartedly. During a particular battle, Jon went so far as to throw himself in front of the Alpha pair and was shot thrice for his troubles. The silver in the bullets nearly killed him, but Jonathan wouldn’t hesitate to repeat the feat. The pack is all he has left, and he would do anything to protect it and its leaders.
