Werewolves were never too wise for mindless violence, and that went a long way towards explaining the somewhat ridiculous collections of movies and video games on offer within the TV lounge; you had to consider personal collections on top of that, as well, any number of extra material that you wouldn't necessarily expect a werewolf of any respectable age or experience to watch or play. Brody, for one, liked the odd rampage, whether it was something he could only watch or something he could actively take part in, albeit only in an artificial setting. He would leave the real violence and conflict for those within the pack who had been trained for it.
Hands in his pockets, Brody invited himself into the lounge, catching sight of the top of Devon's head over the back of the couch where he sat on the floor, clearly in the middle of some kind of dilemma, and as he wandered closer, pulling his hands free and crossing his arms over the rear padded cushion of the sofa, the blonde-haired male could see just what it was that had his friend so torn. "Coins or dice," he offered with a crooked smile on his face, tilting his head just enough to one side to send his somewhat long hair swinging across his field of vision. "Best way to make decisions without making them, Dev'."

He smelled the approach of the other wolf, the distinctive scent of his good friend that made him smile a little. Brody was smart -- smarter than him, at least -- so when the cowboy wolf doled out advice, Devon tended to listen. He craned his head back to look at Brody from his spot on the floor, blinking momentarily before he grinned and bounced to his feet.
"Good thinkin', Bro," he said as he dug a quarter out of his jeans. "Also, you're going to be helping me, so grab a seat. Heads it's Nazis, tails it's zombies."
The coin had nearly sunk into the hole that had apparently been torn into his pocket, but Devon grabbed the bugger before it could be lost. His grin never shifted, perfectly crooked and cheerful as he balanced the quarter on his thumbs. With a flick, it was airborne, flashing briefly in the comfortable light of the tv room before Devon caught it in his palm. The wolf beamed at what he saw.
"Zombies it is!"

It wasn't so much that Brody was smart -- especially not when compared to so many of the pack -- but rather than he paused to think before he shot himself forward into anything. At least as a general rule. Sure, there had been times over the course of his life where that trait had neglected to engage properly and he'd landed himself in hot water, but for the most part, Brody was patient and contemplative, and that was what made him seem smarter than those like Devon.
With a crooked smile at the announcement that he was going to be Devon's parter in whatever shoot-em-up the other young male ended up deciding on -- albeit with the help of a coin -- Brody moved around the back of the couch, just as his friend was flipping and catching the coin.
"You can never go wrong with zombies," Brody pointed out. "Speaking of which, when's the last time we marathoned the Romero movies, huh?" He could remember more than one late night spent in the dark watching the zombie movies with no lights on, only the flickering of the TV screen to illuminate the lounge. He also remembered Devon's brilliant plan to startle Cassidy halfway through the Dawn of the Dead remake a couple of years ago and how the redheaded she-wolf had spent five minutes beating him into the cushions of the couch for his trouble.

Devon was too busy scrambling through the pack's massive video game collection to respond right away. For the most part, it was organized -- it had to be, there were so many! -- but every once and awhile things got misplaced, or borrowed, or put in the wrong box. Luckily enough, Devon found what he was looking for without trouble and he tossed Brody the other controller before throwing the game disc into the console.
Resident Evil 4. Brilliant.
"We do need more Romero in our lives, don't we?" the blue-eyed wolf said with his trademark goofy smile. "But next time I won't scare Cass'. Didn't think it was possible to get a concussion from being beaten by a couch cushion, but she sure did prove me wrong. You think she's forgiven me yet?"
Not that it mattered -- Devon would find some other way to torment the redheaded wolf. It was his favorite pastime.

Catching the controller out of the air with one hand -- being a werewolf sure did have its perks, and every now and then Brody was reminded of yet another one on the long, ever-growing list -- Brody chuckled and nodded his head, agreeing with his friend. "Yes, yes we do." But then, everyone needed more Romero in their lives, it was simply a cinematic fact, unavoidable and indisputable.
When it came to the subject of Cassidy and Devon's fondness for pushing her buttons, getting her hackles up, and generally rubbing her the wrong way, Brody had been present for more than a few beatings or pursuits to know exactly how it worked. Devon would poke and prod and provoke and Cassidy would snap and something would happen. It was the classic kids-in-the-playground scenario, and even Brody could see that.
"I don't know about that, Dev'," he said to his friend, settling himself down in front of the TV as the other young male got things set up and loaded. "I think, when it comes to you? She's past the point of forgiveness. I think you pushed her past that a long time ago." There was nothing serious or life-threatening to the feud between the pair, but it was only a matter of time before it came to a head. Everyone knew that.

Devon almost giggled. "Point," he said. "Y'know, one of these days, she's probably going to either smother me in my sleep or beat me to death. Common sense dictates that I should probably lay off before that happens but, Brody, the comedy of tormenting Cass'? It never ends."
It wasn't that Devon didn't like Cassidy -- quite the opposite, in fact -- but she was just so easily wound up, especially by him. It really was the scenario of the two little kids on the playground. He was the wily little boy who threw rocks and pulled pigtails, but only because he enjoyed spending time with Cassidy. At least he knew when she wasn't in the mood to be tormented; woe betide anyone who tried to pester Cassidy when she was in one of her foul moments. Faces would most likely be broken.
Still grinning, Devon plodded to the couch and flopped himself into the cushions while the game's opening credits began to roll. "Next time, she'll probably just try to strangle me."

Brody couldn't help but laugh, though the release of mirth was accompanied by a shake of his head, back and forth. "Dev', there's a touch of the masochistic about you, I swear." He shuffled himself into place alongside his friend on the couch, slouching comfortable -- albeit perhaps not healthily -- into the cushions and getting himself perfectly situated for a good, long bout of gaming fun.
"Strangle you again, you mean, but I'm pretty sure she gave you a concussion that time too." Brody couldn't easily recall all the times when Devon had taken it upon himself to torment and provoke Cassidy, but he had been present for enough altercations to know how the pair ticked when they were thrown together in any capacity. "Man, you're lucky Keegan came into the room, because we couldn't get her off you." Brody laughed again. "You guys are gonna give Cole a heart attack or something, one of these days." He was still laughing lazily as the game's main menu appeared on the screen.

"Who's going to give Cole a heart attack? I thought that honour was going to belong to Steven," Min announced as she walked into the TV lounge casually and gave the young males a grin that said she was just joking around in her typical Crazy Aunt Min kind of way. Her dark eyes flicked to what they were doing and she came closer to the couch. It was a well known fact that a) Min and Steven were constantly trying to one up one another gaming-wise and when his duties as Beta permitted it they could both be found with controllers glued to their hands and b) That though Min was the oldest pack mate, fighters and leaders aside, she was carefree as anyone and loved to spend time with her young counterparts.
Min pointed to the screen. "Thought I heard the dulcet tones of Res-Four, room for one more zombie-hating observer?"

At the sound of the new voice entering the vicinity, Brody tipped his head up and back to get a decent -- albeit skewed, given that it was somewhat upside-down -- view of Min as she entered the room, calling a fresh smile into view on his face. "Dev'," he told her. "He's got it in his head to try and scare the bejeezus out of Cassidy again. Apparently he has a death wish or something." He snorted to himself. "Forget zombies and demons and ghosts. Cassidy is the one you should really fear." The words were directed at his fellow male, a smirk of amusement visible on his face, one that carried up to his blue eyes.
"There's always room for one more," he told Min, moving over on the couch and giving Devon a shove to encourage him to do the same so the female could join them. "Besides, it's not safe to go alone," he added, adopting a voice all but lifted out of one of the horror movies he and the other male had been discussing a short time ago, though Brody doubted he even came close to sounding genuinely ominous.

Devon followed Brody's example, craning his head back to shoot Min one of his typical dumbass grins. "I live on the edge," he explained simply, as if that were all. "Besides, it's not like she's done any lasting damage."
Which was the truth -- as often as Cassidy attempted to beat the ever-loving tar out of him, Devon always managed to come out generally unscathed. Of course, there was the genuine possibility that shit would hit the fan before long; a she-wolf could only take so much, and Cassidy was already a wily one. To Devon, though, it was all in good fun.
The dark-haired male shoved Brody back, but moved over as prompted. Clearly Min was welcome, as the takedown of ruthless, brain-hungry zombies always required a smart team. Who better to assist in the upcoming victory than the resident gaming queen? Devon was known for spending plenty of time behind the gaming console himself, but even he knew when to defer. To put it simply: Min pwned all.
