(Continued from The Dining Room with the charades players)
To an extent, Heidi felt a touch ridiculous. But the younger wolves seemed really enthused about the idea -- perhaps they were somewhat feigning the enthusiasm, for fear of offending the Beta, but they were feigning well enough that she could believe they were interested. And that was enough to keep her from feeling too peculiar.
"Well, now," she said, smiling as the group flopped onto the comfortable furniture, "since we all know Devon is our resident comedian, I think he should start the game. We're used to laughing at him." She grinned at the male, taking a seat herself, facing the door.

"Gee, thanks Heidi." Devon made his way to the front of the crowd, nonetheless, unable to keep from grinning himself. "I love you, too."
All right - what first, what first... The young male pondered for a few moments, tapping one finger against his chin is his usual pensive manner before an idea hit him. His previous grin returned, wide and catlike. Okay, and the word is 'rockstar'. What to do...
He held up one finger. One word...

Nobody said anything.
Ugh... fine. Somebody's gotta take the bait, I guess...
"One word," Cassidy finally said, shrugging her lean shoulders as she curled into the armchair she'd claimed for herself, arms hugged around her knees with her feet just propped on the large padded cushion she sat on.
I am so not guessing the word. She was awful at this game anyway...

Sissy relaxed in the chair she had chosen for herself, tilting her head as she watched Devon. Her mind was working on two different things: paying attention to Devon and trying to figure out what she was going to do when her turn came around. Leaning her head back against the cushion, she narrowed her eyes slightly in concentration. If it would help everyone begin to enjoy themselves, she would make the world's largest idiot out of herself, even if that wasn't typically her style.

Devon nodded at Cassidy's guess, and then tapped his wrist twice.
"Two syllables?" Heidi ventured, and he nodded again, holding up a finger. "First syllable?"
In reply, Devon folded his arms, as though cradling a baby, and started swinging them back and forth. "Baby? Rock!"

Continued from: Alphas’ Bedroom with Dia.
It hadn’t taken them long to realise that the ‘takeout party’ had, for the most part, relocated, and were now situated not in the dining room, but in the TV lounge instead; one of the two main lounges on the lower floors, used more for media recreation than relaxation and general pack interaction, like the other lounge. Approaching the doorway, Cole heard Heidi’s voice, and though it took him a moment to put the clues together, he realised what they were doing.
“Charades isn’t exactly the conventional werewolf pastime,” he mentioned to Dia quietly as they appeared in the doorway, no doubt unheard over the general murmurs and laughter in the room as Devon gestured and mimed rather energetically.

“Not exactly, no,” she replied, smiling slightly as she watched the group gathered. “But apparently enjoyable.” Finding a room of werewolves playing Charades could certainly be put down on the list of less likely things to happen, but those participating seemed to be enjoying the activity, including Heidi. And it was always good to see them interacting in a good way. After all, the well being of the pack did include their contentment.

Cole smiled, content to lean against the frame of the wide doorway, watching the activity taking place, and having no intention whatsoever of playing for himself. Not only was the very idea of him playing charades rather laughable at best, but he wouldn’t have the faintest idea of what to do. So, he quickly put it out of his mind, and settled for watching, glancing from one face to the other, taking in Devon’s enthusiasm, Sissy’s attentiveness, Cassidy’s amusement, Kyle’s quiet consideration and Heidi’s mind working busily to come up with the answer.
It was something that Alphas — and probably Betas — worked on over the years in their positions; studying the body language and learning how to read the smallest signs so they could see what people were really feeling or perhaps thinking.

The presence of two very familiar scents did not escape Heidi's notice, and she smelled the Alphas before she saw them. From her vantage point facing the door, she gave them an amused smile and a tiny shrug, as if to say, "When in Rome..."
Devon was gesturing enthusiastically upwards, and the guesses were wide. "Upstairs? Ceiling? Sky?" At the word sky he pointed at the guesser, and rolled his hands forward in a gesture indicating that they were heading in the right direction.
"Sky? Moon? Sun? Clouds? Stars?"
"Rockstar!" Heidi blurted.
"Yes!" Devon shouted, laughing. "Ha! Your turn, Heidi!"
Oh, great.

Sissy had caught the scents of the Alphas, but the fact that it was now Heidi's turn amused her so greatly that she couldn't even bring herself to embarrassed by the whole situation. Of course, things would change if she had to actually get up there and think of something, but she could worry about making an idiot out of herself when the time came for that. She cast a quick glance at the Alphas, but her eyes went quickly back to Heidi, the grin on her face impossible to hide as she wondered what the Beta would come up with.

Catching Heidi’s expression, Dia smiled broadly and was no doubt just as eager as some others in the room to see what the Beta would come up with now that it was her turn. Dia herself was of course more than content observing from the periphery with her mate. The others certainly seemed to be enjoying it but needless to say, the Alpha wasn’t exactly the charades type herself.
Leaning the slightest bit closer to Cole she reached out, her hand subtly finding his, moreso for the comfort even that small contact with her mate garnered than satisfying her quirk. The other however, was doing just that, being occupied enough at the moment idly fiddling with the pocket of her jeans.

Cole had no doubt that Heidi's word or term would take ages for everyone to guess; with all the knowledge of history and family trees and the like that the Beta Female had, she would probably come up with something extremely cryptic or difficult. And Cole reminded himself not to say a word. There was no way in this world he was going to play the game, even if that did make him something of a spoilsport.
He took Dia's hand in his when she slipped her fingers between his own, and smiled in her direction. She leaned against him just slightly, and he shifted his position to make himself a more comfortable kind of 'post' for her.
Watching Heidi take her place at the front of the room, he slipped his free hand into the pocket of his own jeans. When the Beta looked in his direction, he simply smirked at her, and laughed quietly. This was going to be interesting...

Continued from Steven's Bedroom
He'd found it nearly impossible to actually sleep, this early. Steven never had been one for naps unless he absolutely needed them, and apparently today just wasn't the case. Shaking his head, he'd gone back downstairs, hoping to see what the others were doing. Finding the dining room emptied, he had moved in the direction of most of the voices, coming to the doorway of the TV lounge. The scene that greeted him once he got there was definitely NOT what he'd been expecting.
You've got to be kidding me . . . Charades? Before he could stop himself, he burst into laughter, quickly trying to cover it with a hand. He didn't want to offend anyone, but he just couldn't help it. This was too funny for him to restrain himself any more than he already was.

Sighing, Cole glanced in Steven's direction. He should have known the Beta male would react that way, but to actually hear him laughing the way he was... well, it was a little grating. But it presented the Alpha with an opportunity, and anyone who knew how long Cole and Steven had been friends would recognise that fact.
Gently loosening his hand from Dia's, he reached around behind her, and given his mate's height, it wasn't hard for him to avoid hitting her when he actually slapped Steven upside the back of the head. His hand was back in Dia's before the Beta had even reacted, but there was a telltale smirk on Cole's face as he watched Steven, waiting for his response.

The Beta didn't even have a chance to think about what was happening before he felt the smack from Cole. He stumbled forward a step, shaking his head slightly in surprise. What the- Oh. Right . . . Oh, I'll get him back for that one, sooner or later. He shot a dark (but good-natured) glower at the Alpha, his expression obviously meant to say 'Oh, you're gonna get it . . .' He shook his head slightly, looking off to the side to keep from laughing again at the sight of his fellow Beta practically making a fool of herself . . . at least, that's what he thought she was doing.
