There was absolutely nothing wrong with being one of the quiet ones; without the quiet ones, the pack would have been an insane jumble of pranks, rough housing, and who knew what else. They balanced out the more extroverted group, something that did need to be done if she was being honest about it. It was all well and good to enjoy getting tangled up in a little mischief, but there was such a thing as too much of such a thing. While it could be a great deal of fun to join in on the random silly activity, Sissy found a great deal of enjoyment in sitting back a lot of times and simply watching. If it was from a good, safe distance, she could even feel comfortable with laughing at what was going on, since it was unlikely that anyone would take enough time out to notice that she was having a good giggle fit and try to pull her into it. Not that being pulled into it was always a bad thing, of course. That could be a great deal of fun. Sometimes, though, she was just more in the mood to watch than to participate.
It was hard not to worry that she might be bothering someone when she stopped by to visit, but she knew that she couldn’t always let that dictate whether she stopped by or not because if she did, she would never stop in to visit anyone. If she found that she was interrupting something, she was quick to excuse herself and leave them in peace. It was only polite, after all. She really didn’t want to take the chance of becoming someone that everyone dreaded having stop by for a visit. She gave him another smile. “Oh, I’ve done that before. I was trying to read too many at once and managed to get myself completely confused. Not something I’m proud of.”

He didn't mind being one of the quiet ones, he knew that without those like him to balance out the loud boisterous ones there would be chaos, well maybe not chaos but it would be a lot noisier and insane without the quieter ones about. There really wasn't anything wrong with being extrovert either, it could be good getting bouncy and mischievous but if that was all there was then things would eventually get too much for most of them, though there were a few members of the pack that seemed to always be on the go and never slowed down. Marshall much preferred being on the outside of all that though, watching from a safe distance and having a laugh at what was going on without the threat of getting tangled up in it all was definitely better than potentially ending up at the bottom of a heap of people being crushed. Yes, it was much safer to watch from a distance, less chance of getting hurt in the aftermath.
How anyone could ever find Sissy's presence an annoyance or bothersome was beyond him, he couldn't think of a time when she had ever bothered him. Even if he was in the middle of doing something her dropping by was not unwelcome, her visits always made him smile so what could be unwanted about that, nothing as far as he could see. Marshall would never find her visits anything less than pleasing, if there was any way he could let her know that easily he would have done it. His smile grew slightly at the sight of hers. "It's easy to do with some books, especially if they've got complicated plots with lots of characters in. I've done it myself on more than one occasion so don't worry you're not alone there."

For the most part, she was one of the quiet ones, happy to sit back, stay out of the way, and just watch the insanity unfold because, really, often it was only a matter of time until it happened. Yes, there were times when she joined in, having too much energy built up and needing to burn it off, but watching really could be an exceedingly entertaining thing to do. She had been on the bottom of a heap before and that was never any fun, but she had been on the top once or twice, and that was always exhilarating. It didn’t happen often, of course, since she was usually somewhere in the middle of the heap, making an attempt to shove aside those who were on top of her so she could breathe, but she did try to avoid situations when it seemed as if there was going to be a pile. Getting kicked in the face by accident once was more than enough.
While she tried not to be bothersome, she was certain that someone had, at one point, found her presence to be exactly that and she tried to stay away when she thought that that might end up being the case. She always did whatever she could to make sure that she didn’t interrupt anything, peeking into a room if she could in order to make sure whoever she was there to see wasn’t doing anything. If the door was open and she saw they were busy, she always tried to slip away before they had the chance to acknowledge her presence, knowing that she could always return at a later time since, honestly, she never had anything important to actually say. “It really is. I hate it when I find myself in that position, but at least I’m not the only one that’s done it. I always feel silly when I realize that I’ve been getting things muddled.”

He was almost always one of the quiet ones and that was fine with him. He really did prefer watching things unfold out of harm's way rather than risk getting caught up in the insanity. Of course there were times when he had energy to burn off and it was those times when he ended up involved in the fun, though he tried to pick less risky activities to burn off excess energy. He really didn't want to get crushed in a heap, which seemed to happen more often than you would think. If it happened then it happened and he would go with it, he'd been caught up in one once but thankfully had ended up in the middle somewhere but if he could he'd rather not end up in a pile. Marshall had seen people end up with some good bruises from those heaps more than once, sure they faded quickly and were forgotten about before too long but that didn't mean getting them didn't hurt a little.
He would never believe anyone thought of her as being bothersome, Sissy and bothersome were words that shouldn't be in the same sentence in his mind unless it was to say that she wasn't but then he might be bias when it came to Sissy. Marshall could understand her desire to not interrupt others as he was the same, if he thought that his presence might cause a disruption he would excuse himself and go back later, if at all possible then he would try and make sure that he wasn't going to be interrupting something but sometimes it was impossible to know beforehand and then he would make his apologise and leave before making more of a nuisance of himself. When it came to Sissy he really would never think her a bother and to him everything she said was important, even if she didn't think so herself. "You're definitely not the only one that's done that, trust me. You shouldn't feel silly it can be hard to keep things straight especially if you're reading two books with complicated plots."

There was always so much going on around the hotel that it was good that there were quieter members of the pack, those who gave a balance to things. If not for them, there could have very well been chaos, which, really, would not have been a very good thing. Not that she thought such a thing would ever actually happen, of course. While it might possibly look otherwise, the Hyperion was actually a very calm place most of the time, even with those running around who always seemed to have extra energy to burn. Perhaps it couldn’t always be called peaceful, but chaos wasn’t going to be ruling anytime soon, she was sure. Bumps and bruises could and did come along with being part of such a pack, there was no denying that, especially when one of the heaps happened, but, thankfully, for the most part, such things could be and were avoided.
Had Marshall ever said that he was biased when it came to her, Sissy never would have been able to understand why. As far as she could see, there was nothing special about her, so really, there was no reason for him to be biased. How Marshall’s presence could ever be an interruption or a nuisance, though, she could not begin to imagine. As far as she was concerned, such a thing was impossible, which, really, made her biased when it came to him, but that was far more understandable to her than things being the other way around. Marshall was more than worth being biased about, unlike her. “As glad as I am that I’m not the only one that’s happened to, I guess I just can’t help but feel silly when it happens. Well, that and like it should teach me not to ready more than one book at a time, but it can be so hard, especially when they both sound so good that having to choose between them seems like the hardest thing in the world to do.”

There were times when the hotel seemed to be in complete chaos and if it wasn't for those quieter members then it would always be that way or at least seem to be. In truth the Hyperion was a pretty calm place, it might look like a mad house at times but that was only because there were often pack members who had energy to burn and they chose to do so by engaging in exuberant activities. If the word chaos was used then it was at least in some way an organised chaos because someone usual knew exactly what was going on. The hustle and bustle was just part of pack life as were the occasional bumps and bruises from getting involved in the more physical activities that others enjoyed, thankfully bumps and bruises were no problem for any of them when they did happen.
If he ever heard her say that there was nothing special about her then he would have tried to find the words to tell her that she was very wrong, she was special and if she couldn't see it then he would just have to try and show her somehow. To discover that she was biased when it came to him then he would have been at a lost, he really was nothing special at all and definitely not worth being biased about. Marshall would never believe that he was anything special and if he ever heard Sissy say different he would be lost for words because her opinion mattered so much more than anyone else's. He offered her another smile as he turned to face Sissy properly. "You shouldn't feel silly. You've no reason to. Sometimes it's just too hard to choose between books and you're left with no option but to read them both at the same time."
