Nick was finishing off the last bit of his pie when the waiter finally returned with his credit card. Taking it back with a nod, Nick put the credit card back into his wallet and the waiter left them again. The dessert dishes would be gathered when the table was wiped down. Shifting in his seat, Nick put his wallet back in his pocket before stretching and pushing his now empty plate away. He was pleasantly full and the club was sounding like a better and better place to spend a good part of the rest of the night. Taking up his wine glass in order to finish off what was left in it while he let Lynnette finish her cheesecake. He was in no real hurry; the club would be there whenever they got around to heading over.

Lyn didn't take too much longer to finish her cheesecake, and when she did, she calmly washed it down with the last of the wine in her glass. Now contently full, she took her napkin from her lap, and set it down next to her empty plate. "Okay, that? Was good food." She laughed at herself quietly, and nodded her head, seemingly not really realising what she was doing. "Thanks for that. I'd say we're more than even now."
Glancing around, she watched the couples at the tables for a while, as Nick finished off his wine steadily. She didn't want to rush him, and it wasn't that she wasn't enjoying herself, but she always got restless so easy on these nights. She hid it surprisingly well though, and she only looked back at her companion when he set down the glass.
"So... should we check out this club?"

“Absolutely,” Nick replied with a nod, standing and stretching discreetly as Lynnette stood. “It’s not too far from here, so with any luck, we won’t have to sit in traffic for more than an hour.” He gave a slight grin at his joke as they began to make their way from the sunroom. LA traffic was notoriously bad at any given time, but he might have been exaggerating things just a bit.
They managed to make it through the crowd still waiting to be seated fairly easily and Nick took a deep breath once they were outside. The air was far from fresh considering where they were, but it had started to feel a bit stuffy in the restaurant towards the end and he was grateful to be outside again. He had to admit that he took his time heading to the car, enjoying the feel of the night air on his face. By the time he reached the car, unlocked it and pulled the passenger door open for Lynnette, he was refreshed and ready for the club.

Smiling her thanks, Lyn got back into the car, and relaxed in the seat with a calm sigh. Dinner had definitely been satisfying, and she was more than happy to spend the rest of the night at the club he'd talked about, drinking and laughing at stupid jokes about people who couldn't hear them; that sort of thing.
When Nick got back into the car as well, she glanced to the line, which had now extended out of the restaurant's door. "Wow... this really is a popular place, huh?" she remarked, turning her eyes from the people waiting, to her companion. She laughed, and shook her head. "I'll never underestimate the press again..."

Nick chuckled as he put on his seatbelt before pulling carefully out of the parking space. “You ought to see the line on the holidays when the place is open.” He grinned at the comment. “When you work with one of the hardest to please food critics in the state, you tend to get special treatment in hopes that you’ll be happy and pass on the good word. I’ve got to admit, it works.”
He joined the flow of traffic and almost immediately found himself in a line at the stoplight. “It’s a shame the power of the press can’t help with this.” He tapped his fingers on the wheel and glanced into his rearview mirror. “Wonder if they’re close enough?” Behind them, there was a white Jeep almost sitting on his bumper. “So help me, if they hit this car…” He let the comment trail away. Saying that he wouldn’t be happy would be an understatement.

Lyn looked behind her, twisting lightly in her seat to see the Jeep he was referring to. She rolled her eyes at the driver and passenger; both relatively young men, clearly too impatient to get drunk out of their minds and cause trouble. “Why is it,” she began in half a grumble, turning back to face the windshield, “that the full moon drives humans crazy too? Isn’t it bad enough that it drives us werewolves up the wall as it is?”
Sighing, she watched gratefully as the lights turned green. Nick put his foot on the gas to get them away from the Jeep, but Lyn practically growled out loud when their impatience got the better of them, and with the roar of a forcefully powered engine, the white vehicle tore around them. “Jeez, clearly the speed limit just isn’t enough for some morons,” she all but snarled, taking a moment to collect herself, and shake her head, to clear her mind. “Sorry… people like that; they tend to bring out the worst side of me, y’know?”
