“I may be weird- someone has to be- but Lulu obviously has the best taste of any car out there. She loves me after all.” Okay, so he had never really named his car and ‘Lulu’ was the first thing that spilled out of his mouth, but oh well. He had already been called weird and that just helped cement it a bit. Besides, there was nothing wrong with being weird so long as it wasn’t weird weird.
Mike couldn’t but smirk as he said, “I don’t know… Lulu might not want to be introduced to you. She’s got thoughts and feelings too, you know.” CSIs and M.E.s had to have some sort of sense of humor, Mike thought, because otherwise, it would be far, far too easy for their jobs to get to them completely. “Everyone ready to get out of here, or should we stay sitting here, talking about what amazing taste Lulu and I have?”
At Tony’s comment, Mike said, “And let her possibly get blood and gore all over her? I don’t think so! Besides, I can’t let you off that easily.”

“Tough, she’s getting an introduction,” Tasha said from the back seat, patting the side of the car ‘gently’ and continuing with, “hey, ‘Lulu’, I’m Tasha. I really like your not-quite-leather interior.” She smiled, despite knowing she had made much better jokes in the past, and laughed quietly along with those who deemed it amusing enough to utter such mirth.
“And I think I’m definitely ready for some coffee. All this talk of reassigned partners and weddings with cars, is… I can’t understand it without caffeine.” She smiled at Mike, catching his reflection in the rear-view that hung between him and Tony up front.

It was a good thing that the conversation had fluidly carried on without missing a beat after Roxie’s joke offer to have Tony join her and Pete in working. He wasn’t sure his brain was working immediately after that, derailed slightly by the offer, as light-hearted as it had been. Tony knew, in his heart, that he was going to have to deal with his feelings at some point and that pining in silence only went so far – he was either going to have to do something or try and get over her.
Not just yet though. Tony nodded in approval to the suggestion they make a move, his inner coffee demon demanding satisfaction. “Please, let’s. I don’t want to hear details about Lulu, my usurper in Mike’s affections.”

“Everyone knows they love Lulu,” Mike announced, pulling out if the parking spot. “I’m just the only one cra- I mean, confident enough, to admit it.” He gave a grin before saying, “Oh, and Tasha? No making fun of the interior. I’ll have you know that it’s actual leather. As much as I paid, it damn well better be.” Yes, he knew for a fact that it was real leather, but darn it, he always seemed to rise to the bait when it came down to his car.”
Mike had very honestly thought that it was best to continue the conversation without pause after Roxie’s joke. He had figured that it’d take a moment for Tony’s brain to kick back in after that and continuing on with the conversation had hopefully covered that up. As much as picked on Tony, he wasn’t going to call attention to his best friend’s problem. Although, if Mike believed in dating within the department, he might have joked that he would ask Roxie out if Tony didn’t. Not that he ever actually would if he dated women from work. Actually, he knew that he wouldn’t do that even if he did. Though he had more than once thought about suggesting that Tony and Roxie both join him for dinner one night, but he didn’t know if Tony would actually be able to function properly if that actually happened.

She could be bubbly, excited, sad, fatigued but Blu rarely if ever sulked. And when she did it less sulking and more pouts, and annoyance at one person, who ever had inspired the sulk in the first place. Right now she was more concerned and worried about Flynn but if she found out he had just over slept or something simple and innocent like that she would certainly sulk, without revealing to him just how worried she really had been.
It was a bit of a surprise to learn that he didn’t use a helmet – wasn’t that against the law or something – but then it was Miles so perhaps it wasn’t a surprise after all. “Fine, but if I break my head open and die because of you, I’m coming back to haunt you.” She sniffed as she spoke, trying her best not to grin and failing terribly.
“To Flynn’s place first,” Blu dig around in her pocket for the key chain of keys, hoping she had remembered to put it in the opposite pocket to her iPod - it was the third one she owned, both pervious models getting scratched rather badly on the screen by her keys before something else killed them. Judging by that record Blu knew it wouldn’t be too long before she found scratches on the front of this one. Today didn’t seem to be that day though, the young woman pulling out the set with a pleased grin. “I’ve got a spare key for Flynn’s place,” she announced proudly, glad to be doing something helpful. She stuffed the keys back into the pocket they came from and climbed on the motorcycle as well.

With his fedora cocked just so over his eyes and blazer re-adjusted, Ronald Berkshire was able to put his game face on. Never let it be said that Ronnie couldn't be serious. This job was one of the most important things he had, and when it was time to work, Berkshire could most definitely get to work.
"You two lead the way and Forbes and I'll tail?" he suggested as the quartet of officers approached their vehicles.

Sarah nodded at Ron. "You boys be careful," she advised the detectives. "Not that Benny's so very dangerous, but you never know, eh?"
Turning toward Chris and the car they were taking -- as usual, he'd claimed the keys -- she gave a small grin. "We'll lead and they'll follow, right?"

Spinning the keys briefly around his left index finger, he then snapped them to a stop in his palm, giving a singular nod to Sarah’s question. “Sounds like a plan.” Giving a similar tilt of his head to Berkshire and Forbes, he unlocked the car he and his partner would be taking, tossing his jacket in the back before adjusting his regulation sidearm so it wouldn’t interfere with his driving at all.
After he climbed into the car, he made a point of rolling down the windows as soon as humanly possible, to get some air flowing through the vehicle, as well as turning on the air conditioning after switching the key in the ignition. “Remind me to park this tin-can in the shade next time,” he said, obviously speaking to Sarah even though he didn’t look at her as he said as much.

"I'm always careful, Sarge!"
Sarah's eyeroll garnered a grin, and Berkshire and his partner slipped into their own car, Ron content to let Forbes drive for the time being. He rather wished he could take his own personal vehicle, sometimes, but that wouldn't have exactly been keeping to code. Plus, there was the possibility that taking his 'baby' out on patrol could lead to damage of some kind. Not something Berkshire was too keen on.
"Well, this should be fun," he heard Julian grumble, starting their own vehicle soon after Chris and Sarah had.
"If by fun, you mean root canal-esque?" Ron quipped.
"Yyyyyep."

"Park this tin can in the shade next time," Sarah replied automatically, fastening her seat belt. She glanced in the passenger side mirror, noting the detectives following them, and gave a nod. "I'm so wildly excited to see Benny, I can't begin to tell you," she said dryly.

“Har har,” Chris mumbled, albeit with a smile, as he pulled down the sunshade from in front of him, ensuring he had it angled so it would protect his eyes while they drove. After checking the mirror, he pulled back out of the space in the lot, and turned them around to get them facing in the right direction.
Glancing to his partner, expression betraying his scepticism, he said, “The sooner we get Donnelly put away, the better; that way, we can say bye-bye to Benny, hopefully for good.” The ratty little man had his uses, certainly, but Chris felt he was seeing far too much of the ‘weasel’ lately for his own liking.

Most of the things in the Trace Lab had already been packed away and it had only really been the slides that he had needed to return to their appointed place, in a drawer near the door, Tony being able to finish up there and get to the parking lot with a minute or two to spare – not that he had been compulsively checking his watch about every ten seconds because that would have just been pathetic on a whole new level.
He reached up to carefully adjust his dark spectacles as he stepped out properly into the parking lot, casual jacket pulled over his shirt, glancing around to try and spot Roxie. Tony hoped that she would remember to wind the window down a little without him having to ask, his Claustrophobia a rather tender and embarrassing spot with him.

"Tony!"
She spotted her fellow CSI as he stepped out and waved as she called out to get his attention. As he made his way over, Roxanne took her place at the wheel and made sure that both her and Tony's window's were down. She didn't want him to feel uncomfortable and, besides, it was a nice night out.
"It probably won't be that huge of a shindig," the blonde CSI told Tony as he came up to the car. "So just tell me when you want to skip out and we can scram."

“We?” The innocuous choice of working sent a shiver down Tony’s spine, one that he charitably decided was mostly joy and pleasure and not the least bit born out of fear or nerves or any of the less the desirable emotions he often felt when in the presence of Roxanne. She turned him around and upside down just at the sight of her, just at a single choice of ‘we’ instead of ‘I’ or ‘you’. It was a good thing really she didn’t know exactly how much of an effect she had on him and a very good thing she wasn’t the sort of abuse such power.
Realising with a guilty start that he had been staring blankly at the top of the car roof for the past minute or so, Tony moved again, opening the door and slipping inside. He noted the open windows as he went, inwardly breathing a sigh of relief; for all that he didn’t like to publicise his fear, Tony wasn’t completely ignorant and knew that most of the department would have heard about his phobia and those who were interested would have remembered.
“Sounds fine to me. Thanks Roxie."

She watched Tony pause, thinking for a moment that he had changed his mind and decided to bail. Immediately, her mind rushed through a few different pleas: it'd be a good time, people wanted to see him, that kind of thing. Then Tony settled into the passenger's seat and she merely smiled and started the engine, ignoring the fact that, in the back of her mind, she had been thinking that having Tony come with her actually made her quite happy.
No big deal, though. He was a good friend.
"Don't mention it," she told her fellow CSI as she backed out of her little VW bug out of its spot and pulled out onto the main street. "Let's just hope we haven't missed all the fun."
