"Firing one!"
The report from the Sig Sauer were muffled by the set of plastic earmuffs that the CSI wore for safetly. Roxanne was cool and confident as the gun jumped lightly in her gloved hands and adjusted for the slight movement. The large, aluminum cannister that she fired into shuddered briefly and Roxie gave a confident smile.
"All right," the blonde murmured to herself. Carefully, she replaced the safety on the firearm and set it aside. The earmuffs were removed and set round her neck while she picked up the cannister to carefully dump its contents into a plastic tub. The little rubber ball bearings clattered into their knew holder, and when the cannister was empty, Roxie began rummaging through the little balls with her gloved hands.
"C'mere, bullet. I know you're in here..."

A few minutes of searching uncovered the bullet, and ten minutes later found Roxanne hunched over a large microscope. The Sig that she had fired had been found in a dumpster near the edge of town. If she could match the bullet she had just expelled with the one found at the crime scene, it would at least be a partial lead...
"Roxie!"
Or not. "What?" she called back. Her partner, Peter, for she could hear his frantic footsteps, was scampering down the hallway, and the blonde CSI peered up as he poked his head into the lab.
"We gotta go, toots," he told her. "There's a scene down at the church."
The church? Roxie's swallowed nervously, saying, "All righty," even as she began to clear her area. They were out the door fairly quickly and as Roxanne slid into the black SUV next to Peter, she said two quick prayers: one for whoever the victim might be, and one to make sure she kept her nerve...
