PERSONALITY: Very little of the kind and boyish Erik Vash now remains. Years of torture at the hands of uncaring vampires have seen his humanity and compassion stripped away, leaving a cold, cruel and ruthless wolf behind who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals whatever they may be. Erik doesn’t show the darker side of his personality often however, preferring to keep himself cool and distant with his pack mates, only showing the cruel side when he is given someone to torture.
He is deeply resentful of Tyler Martin, believing the fighter to be weak and disloyal, as well as the only thing between him and the one thing he wants more than anything else; a fighter position. If Erik had his way he would kill Martin and take his place. The wolf longs to be more than just a pack member, to prove that he can move up into the ranks of fighter, practising his fighting whenever he can, although ultimately he is little more than a wannabe. His real talents lie in fighting of a more ‘persuasive manner.
Erik has two ruling passions in his life, about the only things guaranteed to provoke strong and positive emotions from him; his anime/manga obsession and his deep and abiding love for torture. Bringing up anime or manga and an extraordinary transformation will take place, Erik becoming almost normal and enthusiastic. During these times he is playful, boyish and friendly.
His loyalty lies with Lucian, no question. The Alpha allows him the occasional person to play with and to keep his skills fresh. He was also the first to show amusement and approval with Erik and his job, even going so far as to offer to join in. Erik practically worships the ground Lucian walks on and would follow him anywhere and do anything he asks.
If Erik has any problems with his pack leaders it is only the thought that they were too kind in letting Martin live after his betrayal – Erik cannot stand betrayal. When he is allowed to torture someone, Erik approaches it as a professional job. He takes pride in beating his records of how long it takes him to break people – he has a list memorized of different ‘classes’ of people and the times, such as male vampire, female vampire, male human, child and so forth. Erik is extremely imaginative in his torture methods, always looking for new ideas and working to create new and then perfect ways of breaking people down.
WEAKNESSES: As with all of his species, Erik has a fatal allergy to silver and can die if stabbed with it or should he suffer contact with it for too long a time. He cannot yet control his wolf during the nights of the moon which could be considered a weakness. He is quite clearly insane due to his past and sometimes acts it. He is not as good a fighter as he thinks he is and can be rather over confident in his fighting abilities.
ABILITIES: Like all werewolves, Erik has increased senses, greater sight, smell, hearing etc. His stamina and speed are off the charts, along with his agility and tolerance to pain. He can jump from great heights without hurting himself. He is very skilled at torture, knowing the best way to inflict the greatest amount of pain without actually killing the person. Erik also has an incredible amount of knowledge about Japanese Manga and Anime. He can read and understand Japanese due to this love, however he cannot speak it.
WEAPONS: A set of silver tipped throwing knives. He carries three tiny throwing knives which can all be slotted into an arm band at all times. Erik also owns a larger knife for up close and personal attacks which has been made from an old railroad spike. There are also his scalpels but these are not weapons per say, but rather his favourite instruments of torture.

HISTORY: Erik Vash was born to middle class parents in the mid eighteen hundreds in a small town in the south of America. The first eighteen years of his life were unremarkable, just the typical life for a young man of his age. Erik was sweet and kind, traits that would ultimately prove to be his downfall as one night on his way home he stopped to help escort a young and beautiful lady to her home – Rachel.
Rachel was a vampire and was amused at the human’s behaviour, finding his kind and gentle nature as little more than a challenge, a game. She directed him to a large building right outside of the town, explaining that her father had recently moved them in. Having no reason to distrust her and hardly seeing her as a threat he did as she asked. As he turned to leave her at her destination, Erik was attacked by a vicious beast, acting on Rachel’s orders. She watched with enjoyment as he screamed and struggled to escape, being brutally gorged in the hip before she finally called the beast off.
He was a werewolf now, a prisoner of Rachel and she soon explained to him his new position in life – a toy for her to mould as she pleased. For over thirty years he was Rachel’s favourite wolf out of her few pets, the vampire taking an unhealthy delight in destroying the purity she had once seen in him. She subjected him to every form of torture she could think of, breaking him and enjoying every moment of it.
One night however, when Erik was roughly fifty years old his sire turned on their mistress without any warning. Rachel, while being an effective torturer could not inspire enough fear in her wolves to keep them permanently under her control, the disgust and loathing stronger than the fear of her punishments. Erik leaped into to help and together the two were able to knock Rachel out and scatter her group of wolves and vampires, all fleeing with no intention of returning – she had been unable to inspire loyalty as well. His sire decided to head north, wanting to get as much distance between himself and Rachel as possible, unable to land a killing blow on the vampire.
Erik chose to stay behind – and show his vampire ‘mistress’ just how well he had learnt her lessons. He tortured her for days before finally allowing her to die by exposing her to the dawn and watching emotionlessly as she burnt in front of his eyes. These brutal acts finally pushed Erik fully over the edge and he discovered that not only did he had a real talent for torture and inflicting pain but also that he enjoyed doing it.
The young wolf soon surpassed his vampire teacher’s in terms of cruelty and imagination. In an ironic reversal he began to track down vampires, capturing them and turning them into his pets, breaking them and then killing them. He even forced some to sire humans in a grotesque parody of his own turning. Erik however did not limit himself to vampires and branched out to humans of all ages and races. A nomad, Erik moved from city to city, never staying in any one place too long, never finding the need too. He gained a reputation as a torturer, and was sometimes hired for jobs although his employers made it clear how much they detested him. Erik didn’t care so long as he was paid and got to do something he loved, torturing anyone he was asked to, even those of his own kind, although he still indulged himself with personal torturers when he wished.
It was while he was torturing a random vampire he had found for the simple enjoyment of pain that he first met Lucian’s pack. However, instead of the disapproval and disgust he was normally met with when dealing with werewolves, Erik found acceptance and approval, Lucian even joining in with his torture. Although he had never been in a pack before, had never wanted to, he was instantly taken with the group, finding in Lucian everything he has ever wanted in a leader. He follows him without question, without hesitation, revelling in the pack life and the fact that he can still practise his craft. It is a testament to how loyal he is to his Alpha’s that he is willing to remain even though the amount of vampire’s he can exterminate has been limited since becoming part of the pack.
