Leaving Nick in the living room, or the kitchen if he chose to take her up on the juice offer, she went through her closet for some clothes, pulling out a pair of hip-hugging jeans and a tan-coloured blouse. It was a tried-and-tested combination that she was fond of, and as she was pulling on a pair of feminine but sensibly-heeled boots, she smiled to herself, the expression completely unrelated to her attire. Catching her reflection in the mirror across the room, she saw her own expression, and shook her head. But she wasn’t embarrassed, or anything of the sort. As she moved closer to it, collecting her brush to neaten the slightly tangled mess of loose curls that she was currently boasting, she actually thought it was the happiest she had ever seen herself.
Putting down the brush, she realised why she still felt slightly strange. Her necklace and ring were still in Nick’s car, when normally, she was only without them whenever she transformed. Reminding herself she would have them back soon, she smiled again when she realised she would be wearing her ring in a different manner from now on. It would feel… she supposed refreshing, not to mention rewarding in a way, to know that that heart was pointing towards her instead of away. She had been starting to think she would never turn it around.
After a moment of standing there like that, she checked herself over one last time in the mirror, and then moved back out into the living room, ensuring she took the ring of keys with her.

Waiting patiently, Nick continued to glance around the living room, turning his keys over in his hand, hardly realizing what he was doing. His mind was currently elsewhere. As strange as it was likely to seem at first, he couldn’t wait to officially share his apartment with Lynnette. To have all of her things in with his, maybe getting mixed in a little. It would be perfect, he knew. The only problem he could see with the arrangement was work. He just knew that it was going to take everything he had in him to get up in the mornings and actually go in rather than stay with her, comfortably content and snuggled up with her.
When Lynnette entered the room, an immediate smile came to Nick’s face. Never had anyone had that effect on him and he found that he just couldn’t help it. Seeing Lynnette simply brought a smile to his face and it felt nice.

Returning the smile, she walked over to him, leaning up to give him yet another kiss. She was getting all too used to being able to do that, but then again, why shouldn’t she? It was her place now, wasn’t it? In her mind, it was; he hadn’t pushed her away or complained, so she could just continue as she was, and not have to worry about it. And she didn’t care what anyone else might think. Werewolves didn’t hide affection once it had leaked into the open; when two wolves showed feelings for one another, that was it. Usually, nine times out of ten, there was no going back.
Lynnette didn’t want to go back.
“Okay, I’m all set,” she told him brightly, feeling awake and alert, and without coffee too. That had to have been a record.

There was no going back and Nick was glad of it. He liked where things were going with him and Lynnette- liked where they had gone- and he wouldn’t change anything. He wanted to keep going forward with Lynnette, see where the future- near and distant- would take them. So long as they were together, then he was ready for anything that might get thrown his way; he thought that he could handle anything so long as Lynnette was by his side, something that he had never thought he would think. Before, he had never needed anyone but himself and now, he didn’t want to even imagine what life without Lynnette would be like now that they were to the point they were.
Nick’s smile grew and he was pointedly not thinking about the fact that he was going to have to leave her soon to go to work. “Then I guess it’s time to start making our way down to the car so you can reclaim your stuff, huh?”

Lynnette was excited to find out what lay ahead; what the future held for them… their future, really, because now more than ever, she was certain, confident, that they would share the years that lay ahead. It sent a shiver up her spine, equal parts nervousness and anticipation, but she told herself there was plenty of time to put one foot in front of the other and see where those years took them. Personally, she was going to enjoy each moment as it came, and not waste any of them if she could help it.
“I suppose it is at that,” she agreed, nodding her head lightly so that her loose curls rocked gently around her face and shoulders. Finding his hand, the one that didn’t hold his keys, she twined her fingers through his, watching her actions as she carried them out, her smile soft and contemplative, her thoughts once again, oddly, straying to the ring that waited for her in that glove compartment.

Nick entwined his fingers with Lynnette’s and brought both of their hands up, kissing the back of hers. A new chapter of his life had started, one that he had honestly never thought he would get to, and he was happier than he had ever been about it. He was nervous about it, certainly. After all, it was so completely out of his realm of knowledge that he thought it might have been wrong for him not to be nervous. More than nervous, though, he was excited. He couldn’t wait to help Lynnette get settled in, help her make the apartment that had been his theirs.
Kissing her hand again, he started leading the way towards the door. “I’ve never shared a place since I was turned, but I think I’m going to enjoy it.” He gave her a smile before stopping and kissing her. “I can’t wait for it to be our home.”

Feeling his lips brush the back of her hand filled Lynnette with the warmth that she had started feeling recently when around Nick; a warmth that had only intensified as time went on, and one that now seemed to heat her reassuringly from the very core of her being, as if she would never feel cold or lonely again so long as he was near. She liked that feeling… it was so new and comforting.
Glancing fleetingly around the apartment that wouldn’t be hers for much longer, she smiled to herself, and looked to Nick as they travelled the short distance to the door. She felt she had a slight ‘bounce’ in her step, which almost made her want to laugh. She had never had a ‘bounce’ in her step before; yet another new experience. True, she had freedom of movement and lightness in her actions when she danced, but this was different.
Kissing him back, she leaned against him briefly as she said, “I feel the same way.” A soft sigh trailed off the end of her words, and her laughter was light. “I’ve never shared a place period. I just hope I won’t be a terrible roommate,” she teased gently.

“Believe me, if one of us is going to be a terrible roommate, I’m sure it’s going to be me. Every now and then I get into a messy mood and leave things all over the apartment. I’m especially bad about it in the mornings when I trying to get ready for work. I’m really, really bad about leaving used towels in the bathroom floor, but I get around to picking them up eventually, usually after I get home in the evenings. If that’s going to bug you, I’ll try to cut it out.”
He wasn’t actually trembling, but he was excited enough that he thought he could. He was surprised that he wasn’t. He couldn’t wait to get home from work and he hadn’t even left yet, which made him think that it was going to be a long day, even if he managed to get off early. He badly wanted to get Lynnette’s things all moved into the apartment and help her get settled in.
