Continued from: The Lounge
Putting his CD player and the audio book on his desk as soon as he closed the door behind him, Alair stretched and glanced around. With as many ideas as he had as to how to spend the rest of the night, he thought that he might as well simply go to bed. He considered seeking out company, but was quick to decide against it. He wasn’t really sure why he dismissed the thought, but it just didn’t seem to be what he wanted to do at the moment. He wasn’t in a particularly social mood, but he wasn’t in an anti-social mood, either.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Alair considered his options and realized that he wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about any of them. He hated it when he got that way, but since it couldn’t be helped, he figured that he would at least stay in his room until he figured out what he wanted to do.

POST TIMESKIP
Stretched out on his bed, headphones on, Alair was listening to one of his audio books, this one a Spanish mystery. It was a new acquisition and, with nothing else to do, he had decided that it was the perfect evening to lie on his bed, the lights out, and just enjoy a nice, calm night. He had considered getting himself out and about in the hotel, perhaps settling in the dining room with a snack and his portable cd player, but had decided that he was feeling rather lazy and that doing such a thing involved too much moving. That decision had made him realize that he seemed to be getting his lazy moods more and more often, but he thought that, perhaps, the moods weren’t really so much lazy as they were an attempt to escape from the unsettled feeling that hung over the pack. In his room, locked away with his audio books, he could almost feel as if things were as they should be- that everyone was happy and that there was nothing at all wrong within the Four Seasons.
Shutting his eyes, Alair was oblivious to anything that might be going on in the hotel, lost in the words that covered the distant sounds of the pack, allowing him to get lost in the story.

It was the smell of smoke that caught his attention, dragging him out of the world he had allowed himself to get lost in. Frowning, Alair switched off his player and took off the headphones, listening for a moment. Others were moving outside his room and, now that he took notice, he could almost feel the panic in the air.
That feeling made him move quickly, scrambling up and off the bed so he could snatch his portable cd player and begin shoving his audio books into a plastic bag he found in the bottom of his closet. Once it was almost filled, which only took moments, he shoved the cd player into it as well and put his arm through the handles in order to free his hands. Grabbing up the rest of the audio books, Alair moved quickly to the door, his mind quickly pinpointing the quickest route to take to the outside.
