NAME: Dorothy Llewellyn.
NICKNAMES: Dorothy as a whole doesn’t have that many pet names, with most simply using either her full first name or her surname. A very select few within the pack – namely her mate and the Alpha’s – can get away with calling her ‘Dotty’. Anyone else who attempts to do so will soon learn their mistake.
RACE: Werewolf – Born.
OCCUPATION: The Beta female of Lucian’s Pack.
GENDER: Female.
SKIN COLOUR: Caucasian, occasionally has a faint tan which she claims gives her a ‘glow’.
NATIONALITY: Irish.
AGE: 191, however she looks as though she is in her late twenties.
CLOTHING: Dorothy is fond of ‘girly’ style clothes, anything that hugs her body and shows off her shape in the most pleasing fashion. Summer is her favourite time of the year, with most of her wardrobe reflecting that, full of thin strap tops, light skirts and sandals. Pinks and blues appear frequently in her clothes, nearly always lighter shades as opposed to deep colours although they can creep in. Whenever possible, Dorothy will be seen in either a knee high skirt or three quarter length pants, in order to better show off her claves. On her feet she will wear some kind of sandal, never flip flops, but rather wedges or other light shoes, often with elaborate laces which can reach part way up her calves. There are very few coats in her wardrobe, Dorothy often either stealing her mates or simply going cold; those few that are in there however tend to be high collar ones. Despite her love for girly clothing, Dorothy will often resort to stealing a shirt or similar clothing from her mate Christian, simply because she can. She is rather fond of thin scarves, that are more for show than anything else, the blond owning a number of coloured and sparkly ones that can be worn all seasons, at all times.
HEIGHT: 5’8”.
WEIGHT: 147lbs.
TATTOOS: Dorothy has a single black tattoo in the shape of a phoenix, roughly four inches in length, over her left kidney.
PIERCINGS: Her belly button.
JEWELLERY: The only jewellery that will be seen on Dorothy constantly is that of some kind of chunky bracelet. The female werewolf loves all kinds, from metal to cheap plastic style ones. It is almost unheard of to see her without something thick on at least one wrist. She also has a number of belly button rings, nearly all pink, such as her current favourite, one in the style of cherries, although she will quite often forget to put it in.
BODY MODIFICATIONS: There are a number of scars on her body, from various incidents in her life and her role as a fighter and beta. Dorothy has a collection of small slashes alongside her left elbow from a nasty fall and injury during a fight. She also has a scar on her back, vertical and missing her spine by only a few millimetres. Perhaps the mark she is most sensitive of is a very thin, pale scar which can be traced from under her right ear, to a few inches along her chin line.
WOLF FORM
[/u][/center]
BUILD: Fully capable of both two and four legged movement with equal ease, in wolf form she prefers to use two legs wherever possible. Her front legs are muscular and capable of great strength although not the most nimble of limbs, and she has a little trouble using them as well as other wolves might manage, lacking the power or mobility to truly use them to pull herself. Dorothy’s hind legs on the other hand, while more muscular are also fully joined and capable of great spurts of speed and leaps. All four of her legs end in large, thickset paws, with each squat digit topped with thick, razor sharp claws capable of shredding both flesh and bone, although again she lacks the nimble digits that would enable her to manipulate objects as others can. Her body is lean overall, almost skinny with no wasted fat anywhere, her torso clearly defined and muscular, working upwards past her shoulders into a short neck that quickly blends into her head. Head-wise, she resembles that of a natural wolf from the wild, triangle shaped ears that are constantly pricked upwards and a muzzle which is long and almost rectangular in shape, with a large mouth full of small, yet obviously sharp teeth.
HEIGHT: Bipedal-6’1”; Quadruped- 5’4”
WEIGHT: 237lbs
HAIR: The pelt of Dorothy’s wolf consists of four different colours; an off-white, tan, grey and a near black. The majority of her hair is the near white shade, covering her chest, inner legs, arms, neck and part of her tail, before fading into a strip of tan which tends to be on the more visible parts of her body. The grey tends to be scattered with the white along her back. The black is only really visible on the very tip of her tail and around her eyes. It becomes thicker along her back and around her neck, becoming almost shaggy in appearance, although it is as soft and silky to the touch as the rest of her shorter fur.
EYES: Amber.
DEFINING MARKS: Her elongated limbs and short bushy tail.
PACK[/u]
PACK: Lucian’s Pack.
POSITION: Beta Female.
TERRITORY: Beverly Hills, specifically the area surrounding their mansion home.
HAIR[/u]
LENGTH: Dorothy’s hair varies in length depending on her mood although it is never shorter than shoulder length. Currently it falls to roughly midway down her back, with very subtle differences in length, so that it looks a little uneven. She has grown her fringe out over many years, and keeps it roughly half an inch shorter than the rest of her hair to give the slight reminder that the fringe is still there.
STYLE: Her hair falls naturally into loose waves, giving it a little bounce, although on rare occasions she may straighten it out. Typically, she will go for a more windswept look, the uneven ends of her hair and even uneven length of the waves making it appear not to be styled, however it stops short of actually looking messy or untidy and instead gives her the down to earth look she currently prefers. Dorothy’s fringe is set in a centre parting and falls evenly on either side of her face.
COLOUR: Strawberry blond.
FACIAL HAIR[/u]
LENGTH: None.
STYLE: None.
EYES[/u]
COLOUR: Greyish-Green.
ODDITIES: Like all werewolves, whenever Dorothy is feeling any particularly intense emotion, such as fear, surprise, excitement, etc. they will change to the colour of her wolf’s eyes, as they will when she feels pain. Dorothy can also will them to change colour whenever she wants, to playfully tease or if she is feeling mischievous.
PERSONALITY: At first glance, the leggy blond werewolf can appear to fit the stereotype of ‘dumb cheerleader’ down to a tee; popular, pretty but not very clever. She is shallow and delights in that fact. More often than not, Dorothy can be found gossiping with someone or other, telling tales or implying she knows more than she is letting on. A lot of the time this is true, Dorothy having the nose to sniff out secrets, to the point where if anyone wanted to know something about someone else, she was a good person to ask. Dorothy loves finding and hording secrets, loves knowing that she holds something above the head of another and that she can use it against them whenever she pleases. That knowledge is more powerful and intoxicating to the Beta than actually revealing the secret.
Alone with Christian, she becomes very quiet, almost respectful. She will defer to the male every time and will always look to him first before wholly committing to a plan of action. As far as Dorothy is concerned, Christian is the dominate one in their relationship and that suits her, being content to follow his lead and failing that, the lead of her Alpha’s although she will not allow anyone else to tell her what to do. Her feelings for her mate are genuine and strong. She guards her perceived privileges and position jealously, occasionally lashing out or more often, convincing Christian to do it for her. From an early age, Dorothy preferred to watch a fight rather than get involved directly unless she had no other choice.
Perhaps surprisingly for a Beta wolf, Dorothy can be paranoid and even insecure at times. She is constantly watching and judging the other females in the pack, weighing them against herself and her power. She has no intention of relinquishing her grip on said power, which can lead her to becoming over paranoid and liable to pick up on the slightest thing as an indication of treachery or betrayal, reacting accordingly. Dorothy knows that certain members of the pack are not as content as they should be, although she can’t understand why they would try and rebel against their leader in any way. She is constantly suspicious of anything she is not directly involved in, of the trouble it could cause. While there is nobody in the pack that the beta really considers a real danger to her position yet, Angeline is fast becoming a potential threat. Despite the other female’s quiet nature, Dorothy can see the ambition in her, easily recognizing such a strong trait from herself and she will do whatever it takes to make sure that the other female will never realise that ambition.
Some of this insecurity stems from the fate of her fraternal twin Joseph. She fully believes that Lucian was in the right to act as he did after her brother’s disobedience, however Dorothy can’t help but be fearful that she could be tarred with the same brush, and hates the idea that she might be considered as anything less than the fully loyal wolf she is to the pack. Although the death of Joseph does occasionally intrude into her thoughts, Dorothy doesn’t truly mourn him and prefers to pretend as though he never existed in the first place, his name taboo around the female. Another aspect of her insecurity comes from the cut she received at the hands of the vampires which destroyed the old home and pack. It doesn’t matter that the mark is near invisible, they cut her face and she hates attention to be called to it, imaginary or real and will react with violence to cover up her shame and embarrassment.
WEAKNESSES: Like all of her kind, Dorothy is allergic to the metal silver; it can make her feel nauseous, burn, poison and in extreme cases even kill her, depending on the proximity, quantity and the length of contact. Should it reach her lungs, heart or brain, not even her abilities would be able to heal it and she would eventually, painfully, die. Somewhat oddly for a pure born werewolf, Dorothy is known to suffer from chronic headaches – unbeknown to her, they are a side effect of Lucian’s power – and they leave her feeling weak, moody and more irritable than usual. At their worse, she has to remain in a darkened room as light and sound prove too much.
Dorothy is all but insanely sensitive when it comes to the scar on her face. Despite the mark being nearly invisible to the naked eye she will spend a great deal of time trying different products to cover it up. Anyone mentioning the mark or even looking at it too long is likely to provoke her into a flying rage and she has been known to kill over it; her lack of control in this respect could easily be used against her. The loyalty she holds to her Alphas and willingness to do whatever they ask of her is a danger as the beta will put herself in harm’s way to protect them; if she is willing to actually die for them however remains to be seen. Her desire to keep power is another weakness, as there is no telling what Dorothy might do if she considers her position to be under threat. Her mate is a huge weakness, as she is very vulnerable around him, the female caring deeply for Christian.
ABILITIES: Dorothy had all of the benefits that comes with being a werewolf, shared with all her kind; all five of her senses are enhanced, along with increased speed, strength, agility, endurance, stamina, balance and reflexes. She has a higher pain threshold than humans, and on the flip side, she heals at an advanced rate, along with the obvious skill to change from human to wolf and back again at will. Her age means she is able to control her wolf during all three nights of the full moon, can stop herself from changing as well as retaining her mind at those times. Due to her position as a fighter before she became the beta, Dorothy is deadly skilled in fighting, mostly bladed weapons or hand to hand combat although she also has some ability in the use of firearms.
She practises yoga regularly and is capable of doing some of the more extreme poses, being very flexible; this is also visible in another talent, dancing. Dorothy loves to dance, and knows a great many different styles, from Waltz’s to tangos, to free forms. The beta female is trained in first aid and can treat more minor injuries such as cuts, sprains, all the up to setting broken bones and stitching up wounds. Something of a decent cook, she can get by in the kitchen, her talents mostly lying in sweet dishes as opposed to savoury. Due to her heritage, she is fully capable of speaking Irish Gaelic along with English. Although unaware of this, she is sensitive to Lucian’s power and can often ‘feel’ when he is using it, however Dorothy has never known the cause or understood what her feelings mean.
WEAPONS: Dorothy owns a pair of Deer Horn Knives which she will use whenever possible, although she isn’t above using her natural wolf weapons or even a gun if the need arose. Occasionally she will also carry around a boot knife which has jagged edges designed to cause more pain coming out.
PRIZED POSSESSIONS: Her own life, the life of her mate and of her Alphas. As far as Dorothy is concerned, anything else can be replaced.
HOME(S): The Red Moon Manor, in Beverly Hills, with the rest of Lucian’s Pack.
HISTORY: Dorothy Llewellyn was born in 1815 to a pair of fighters within an pack located in Ireland. She was the youngest of siblings by mere minutes, having a fraternal twin brother named Joseph. The two clashed almost from birth, Dorothy being the outgoing twin, easily making friends and becoming a popular child. Joseph on the other hand was quieter, more interested in books and study than friends and gossip. Even as a young child, Dorothy could never understand her brother and his priorities – it confounded her that he wouldn’t want to spend all his time with other people, that he was actually happy hidden away in a room surrounded by books. Despite her childish distain for him, Dorothy made sure that when she made friends with a group of similarly ages children in the pack, she dragged Joseph along with her. Embarrassing bookworm or not, he was still her brother and she wasn’t going to let him be an outsider, even if he was never completely comfortable with the group. Dorothy didn’t care, easily forging friendships with the children of the other fighters and leaders, the most important of which became Lucian, Farryn and Christian and by the time she reached the age of her first change, she fully considered herself as being part of the little pack within a pack that had formed around Lucian, the son of their Alphas.
She considered Farryn to be her best friend and where the dark haired werewolf was, Dorothy was inevitably behind, following her dutifully and always ready to back her up at any opportunity, always on hand to agree about the annoying behaviour of Lucy Everett, Dorothy conceiving a dislike for the other blond purely on Farryn’s feelings. As the years passed, this pattern of behaviour continued, the pair nearly always gossiping about one thing or another, one person or another. It was a way to let off steam, to be able to complain about anyone and anything, from her brother’s latest bookworm act, to her parents half-hearted attempts to teach her to fight in a bid to make her more like a guy and on the latest infuriating thing one Christian Bradley had done. Her conversation came round to the male with alarming frequency, Dorothy alternating between ranting about some tiny thing he had done or gushing over a similar, small thing. She had a large crush on the other werewolf, a crush that was made worse by the fact that Christian, despite being a part of the group, hardly seemed to notice her at all. He was the strong silent time and no matter what Dorothy did – sort of outright asking him – to try and get his attention, nothing seemed to work. It was as if he didn’t find her attractive and as the years passed and Dorothy became more and more attractive, this became harder and harder to swallow. She refused to take the offensive on it however, believing that it was the man’s job to court the woman and instead stuck to gossip.
Everything was shallow, easy, amusing… right up until the vampire’s struck. The attack was harsh and as fast as it was deadly, the un-dead creatures storming through the pack’s home and obliterating any wolf in their way with frightening efficiency. Even with the fighting skills she possessed, Dorothy knew she was no match for them, not when they were able to overwhelm fully trained fighters and so the young blond saw no shame in running, the building on fire around her. She didn’t get far though, cold, strong arms grabbing her around the waist and pulling her screaming back into a room as she neared the exit and potential freedom. One of the attacking vampires had been left to guard that door, the burly male holding her tight. The vampire’s rank breath was hot on her throat, creature clearly enjoying playing with his prey. Try as she might, she couldn’t break free, still screaming and struggling.
Suddenly though, the vice like grip faltered, Dorothy falling to her knees in surprise at the sudden change. Before she could react, try to run, the vampire had his hands on her, fingers curling tightly in her hair and pulling her head back. At the sight of the monster looking down at her and worse, the large dagger than appeared in his hand, she screamed again, sheer terror in her voice. He slashed down, Dorothy struggling to avoid the deadly blow, fear giving her added strength and enabling her to somehow break free of his hold, twisting her head and shying away so that instead of plunging into her, the knife simple grazed her, cutting along her jaw line. Snarling in frustration, the vampire backhanded her, sending Dorothy falling fully to the ground. From her vantage point on the floor, she couldn’t really see what happened next, a shape suddenly appearing in the doorway, a scent that she recognized as Christian. The male launched himself against the vampire, defeating him with an expert skill and saving Dorothy’s life. If her feelings for him had been just an infatuation before, it was real love now, the male becoming a real hero in her eyes in the way he had protected her and fought with such a deadly elegance.
The two stumbled out of the burning building, meeting up with Lucian Mar and those other few that had managed to make it out of the inferno. To her relief, Farryn was among them, as was most of the ‘pack’ that had formed. She grumbled a little under her breath at the sight of Joseph also having survived, the dislike between the two having long ago falling away to outright hate; on her part at least. He was embarrassing, not interested in power or fighting or anything and yet he was always viewed by their parents as the better of the twins, simply because he was male. It was this smouldering resentment that kept her from being too upset at the knowledge that that both her parents were dead. As far as she was concerned, there were more important things to worry about; like what they were going to do now.
Lucian and Molly became the Alpha’s of their new little pack, with Farryn and Christian taking the Beta positions. She would never dream of trying to take Farryn’s place, the closest friend she had and so, invariably, her resentment settled on Molly. It was because of the Alpha female that Dorothy was denied the power she craved and because of her that she couldn’t spend as much time with Christian as she wanted to, as she needed to if she was ever going to get him as her mate. Occasionally however, jealous thoughts would drift across her mind aimed at Farryn, and Dorothy could never be completely sure if she was jealous of her power or the fact she was Beta alongside the man Dorothy had ‘claimed’ since they were children. It didn’t seem to matter though, because Christian still failed to notice her, or her charms, Dorothy wondering if the scar on her face disgusted him. By the time the small pack fled Ireland and reached the shores of America, Dorothy was nearly insanely sensitive about the mark, liable to lash out if it was mentioned. The fact that they were running away from the vampires chasing them, despite being a plan that she would have picked herself, was somehow another mark against Molly, another thing for her to silently brood over.
So when Lucian decided enough was enough and planned to face them, Dorothy supported it, even when the whole thing went terribly wrong. Out of all the wolves that went out to attack, only Lucian himself and one other managed to return, everyone else killed. Thankfully, neither Farryn nor Christian had been among the group that had set out and so were safe. Then, something even worse happened. Her dumb brother questioned one of Lucian’s orders. Her bookish, by the rules brother, went against their Alpha. His nerve, his sheer stupidity boggled the mind and Dorothy didn’t flinch as the necessary punishment was given and Joseph was reminded violently and fatally of his place and how you never questioned the Alpha. It was justice and it didn’t change her loyalty towards Lucian. What her brother had done was wrong, especially coming from a lowly member such as Joseph Llewellyn. It terrified Dorothy though to think that they might be tarred with the same brush, that Lucian and Farryn might think she had supported her brother or that she quietly agreed with his treasonous behaviour. Her worry got her into a state, Dorothy hardly aware of what was going on, frantic and trying desperately to think of some way to prove she was loyal. It was in that hazy state that she found Christian and somehow, he noticed her.
He wanted her. The words and actions were a bit of a blur to Dorothy but when she finally relaxed and the world came fully back into focus, she and Christian were in bed together.
The small pack was tense, on edge and waiting for the next blow but nobody anticipated where it would actually come from. In disbelief, she watched as Molly challenged Lucian for the right and ability to lead, triggering a fight. Dorothy couldn’t believe what she was seeing, at a time like this they had to band together like never before, not see their leaders fight and ultimately fall, Farryn stepping in to save the male’s life at the cost of him forfeiting it. Instead of leading them however, in fixing what she had so brutally broken, Molly simply left, leaving them. Abandoning them. It only proved in Dorothy’s mind that she had been right not to trust the female Alpha in the first place.
With Molly gone, Lucian kept his position as Alpha, and Farryn took her place. It was perfect as far as Dorothy was concerned, the male was somewhat different after the fight, but it made no real difference to her – he was the boss, the leader and that was enough for her. To make things even better, the spot of Beta female was now open and Dorothy eagerly claimed it for herself, feeling as though finally, finally things were as they should be. The pack soon learned that it was better for all if they never mentioned Joseph’s name, his very memory becoming taboo around their Beta female, Dorothy fully capable of landing harsh blows if provoked.
Despite that though, she was happy, even as the pack continued its nomadic lifestyle. She had her friend, her position as Beta and perhaps most importantly of all, she finally had her mate, Christian. It was everything she had ever wanted and so Dorothy is content for the time being, happy to follow her leaders everywhere, even to Los Angeles and happy to see how things play out now.
