PERSONALITY: Quiet, soft spoken and reserved, Cassius only offers his opinion when asked or when truly convicted about and issue. Hailing from an age of chivalry and gentlemen, his manners and habits have remained unchanged throughout the years, almost as if he clings to them.
An air of soft sadness seems to follow him like a ghost. A touch prideful and sensitive to strikes against his honor, left-overs from being a son of French aristocracy, though when fronts are made he is more likely to give a cold shoulder than result to violence. Once trust has been gained, he can be a truly charming gentleman but even the most trusted of friends are kept at arms length. He does have a strong sense of loyalty to those who have earned his trust, and will almost recklessly throw himself in harms way to protect them. Though more often than not Cassius would prefer a quiet cup tea, a good book, and perfect silence for hours on end.
WEAKNESSES: Like all wolves silver is deadly to him. His biggest weakness is a sense of detachment from everyone else, it doesn’t let anyone in or himself out, keeping him isolated in a crowd. In a sense this makes him extremely vulnerable, an island standing alone. Everyone deals with tragedy in their own ways, some healthy others not so much, mental isolation is Cassius’ answer. However should anyone finally breach this detachment, make a bridge to the island so to speak, it might finally allow him to deal with his bloody past or send him completely over the edge of sanity.
ABILITIES: Heightened strength and endurance, senses off the charts (sight, smell, touch, taste, hearing) Great Balance and advanced healing like most other wolves. Despite being rather large, agility comes rather naturally to Cassius.
Highly trained in the art of fencing Cassius has had a bit of difficulty moving to modern weapons, but is a decent shot. He is not an aggressive fighter unless provoked, and tends to enter a battle from a strategic point, rather than trusting in his size and brute strength unless there is an emotional aspect to entering the fight.
He can speak fluent French, German, and English and can read and understand Latin and some Greek. Highly educated, and coming from money Cassius has used his prolonged life to further his studies in literature, history, art, and to some extent music. He prides himself on being an expert on most cultural aspects, perhaps a bit too much.
He can play the violin and sing quite well, but is horrible at the piano. He is also quite a good dancer, but has not stepped onto a dance floor for years.
WEAPONS: Though ridiculously unpractical, Cassius still keeps a ornate, basket handled rapier and several small knives, though he has updated to two twin 40 caliber Ruger handguns.

HISTORY: Born 1741 in Loire Valley, France; the second son of self important lesser Count and his power grabbing wife. Cassius and his older brother Demont, were given the best education, and the strictest upbringing everything focused on bring the Aubrey family more power and money. Demont, being the eldest and standing to inherent everything, was paid the most attention and perfectly groomed to his parents liking becoming a arrogant, sly, power hungry man. Because of his second son status, Cassius was left far more to his own devices and in the care of his tutor, after all the only job he had with the family was to marry well, and gain more land and money for them.
The older he grew the more he became to detest his family and their behavior, mostly under the guide of his tutor Marc; a brilliant, God fearing man who saw more than just a spoiled rich child in Cassius. And in a fit of rebellion Cassius fell in love with, and became engaged to his tutor’s daughter Marie. Furious his parents banished him from their estates and insisted they would strike him from the family if he did not leave Marie. Unfazed by this Cassius relocated to Paris with Marie and her father and began making preparations for their wedding.
A month before their wedding, on a snowy evening, Cassius took Marie to see a ballet and then dismissed their driver to walk home in the beauty of the night. On the path through one of the city parks they were attacked by a massive werewolf, who after cutting Cassius down and throwing him aside slaughtered Marie and disappeared into the night.
Fearing a scandal the Aubrey family brought Cassius back home to recover and forbade him to attend Marie’s funeral. Demont stayed in Paris a week longer to insure the “mess” was cleaned up before making the trip back to the family estate. Upon entering the estate Demont found nothing but carnage, every member of the staff and the Count and Countess had been ripped apart, the only living thing in the entire house was an unconscious Cassius. Thinking that the beast had attached it’s self to his brother Demont cast him out of the house and wrote him out of the family. Cassius traveled out of France into Germany thinking that he was being chased by the beast. After about 5 moon cycles he began to realize that he was the beast now. Upon this discovery he became determined to find a cure, hunting down any and all literature on the supernatural monster. Cassius did nothing but scour all of Europe for answers for the next 50 or so years almost becoming almost mad with his obsession to find a cure. While perusing a lead about an ancient book Cassius came upon his first werewolf, a highly intelligent aristocrat named Christoph. With Christoph’s help Cassius finally gained control of his wolf and began to understand (through much convincing) that there was little he could do about his condition other than accept it.
It was shortly after meeting Christoph that Cassius heard the news that his brother the Count has died leaving no heir. Making his way back to Loire Valley, France, Cassius presented himself as his own son, and claimed the family inheritance, and all their lands.
Despite Christoph’s protests Cassius attempted to have a normal life, even allowing himself to fall in love again. It wasn’t long before he married the daughter of another count Abigail and life for a few years was wonderfully happy and peaceful. It took several years into their marriage before Cassius worked up the courage to tell Abigail what he truly was and was extremely surprised when she was unafraid of him. The joy he felt at his acceptance was only increased by the news that she was finally with child. As werewolf pregnancies go it was extremely rough on Abigail, leaving her on bedrest for most of the pregnancy. Due to complications during labor both Abigail and the child died.
Overwhelmed with grief, Cassius fled the country and wondered aimlessly for a time eventually finding himself in America. During his wanderings across the country he quickly picked up on the fact that there were far more werewolves and even vampires than he had imagined there to be. He made this discovery first hand when he was attacked by a group of vampires looking for a new attack dog. Another werewolf, Kiernan, stepped in and saved his life. He invited Cassius to join the pack and Cassius did so willingly, promising to repay Kiernan for saving his life, and until then promising to be in his debt.
