Clothing: Her clothing tastes are nothing short of eclectic. She wears whatever she wants regardless of what others say. She has always had her own sense of style and it means that she tends to stand out in a crowd. She will wear anything from jeans to skirts and vest tops to long sleeve tops. She often pairs things that you wouldn’t think would go together and sometimes she looks a bit mismatched but then others work well. She is a fan of waistcoats and will wear one if she thinks she can get away with it. Her foot wear is just as varied with her just as likely to be seen in high heels as she is in sneakers. When she’s at work she wears black polo shirt, black pants and black sneakers, along with her green apron and of course her name tag.

Hair[/u]
Length: Her hair falls just to her shoulders.
Style: Not overly styled really her hair is pretty much a uniform length all the way around, she has light layering to add a bit of body to it and she will occasionally flick the ends out with the help of a straighter. She wears her hair down when she’s not working but when she is she always pins it back, often in a rather messy way, it’s not uncommon to see her hair pinned back with the use of chopsticks or other slightly unconventional items.
Colour: Auburn.
Facial Hair[/u]
Length: N/A
Style: N/A
Eyes[/u]
Colour: Green.
Oddities: Just like the rest of her race she can shift the colour of her eyes to that of her wolf. She can do this at will to tease and intimidate others and it can happen when she is feeling strong emotions such as anger or fear. She actually tends to let a little of the wolf bleed in to her eyes most of the time meaning that they appear to be a mixture of green and blue almost all the time.
Personality: When you first meet Bailey you’re not really sure what you’re going to get, on the outside she can look like just another pretty face with nothing going on between her ears but those that get to know her will quickly realise that is not the case. She might not be the smartest person you’ll ever meet but she likes to think she has a good head on her shoulders. She doesn’t take crap from anyone and if someone tries to pull the wool over her eyes she will call them on it and let them know she thinks they are full of shit. She can be a little bit abrupt with people she doesn’t like which has earned her a bit of a reputation at work as a bitch, especially with the customers who she thinks are complete idiots because she doesn’t hide the fact that she doesn’t like them at all. Some might say she has a chip on her shoulder but she doesn’t really care what others think of her and she won’t hesitate to tell them as much.
She has a rather dry sense of humour which can verge on the dark side sometimes. She can be a little bit sarcastic at times which isn’t always a good thing when she is sarcastic towards customers or her superiors at work. She isn’t above playing pranks on her friends but she doesn’t push it too far because she wouldn’t want them to retaliate in a similar fashion. When it comes to her friends she is fiercely loyal to them and she will go out of her way to make sure they are happy. She will stand up for her friends and isn’t afraid to get in the face of anyone hassling her friends which can have either amusing or disastrous results depending on the situation. She likes to have fun and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. She makes no excuses for who she is and doesn’t understand why anyone would.
Weaknesses: As with all of her race she is highly allergic to silver. Close proximity to it will make her nauseous, contact with it will burn her skin and introduction of it in to her system will likely prove fatal unless treated promptly and even then it could still kill her. Her age is a big weakness as she is unable to resist the call of the moon and has to take precautions around the full moon to ensure she doesn’t hurt anyone. She sometimes doesn’t know when to shut up, she can babble on about random things when she feels uncomfortable which can be entertaining but can also come off as annoying. She also has something of a short fuse when it comes to rude people at work, if they are rude or disrespectful to her or her colleagues then she finds it hard not to do something to make them realise they’re being a douche. On more than one occasion she’s thrown coffee cans and other objects after them as those rude individuals have left the counter.
Abilities: She has the standard set of perks that come with being a lycanthrope, she has heightened strength, agility and senses as well as enhanced healing abilities allowing her to heal from things faster than a human would. She is of course pretty good at making drinks both the caffeinated kind at work and also the alcoholic kind though the latter is more of a hobby for her than a source of income, she likes to experiment with drinks at parties and seeing as how she would have to drink a vast amount of alcohol to feel more than the slightest buzz it’s all about the mix of flavours for her. She is a keen photographer and takes any opportunity she can to indulge in it, she wouldn’t say she’s very good but it is something that she loves to do.
Weapons: None, she doesn’t like violence at all.
Prized Possessions: None, Bailey lives life in the moment and doesn’t really see the need to dwell on the past or hold on to mementos.
Home(s): Bailey lives alone in a small apartment, which lies in Isabella Valdez’s side of L.A though she is unaware of this fact.
History: Bailey Travers was born in San Francisco to Nicolas and Laura Travers, a fairly well off couple that had decided to put off having children until they had gotten where they wanted to be in their careers. Bailey almost wasn’t born at all because of this but thanks to IVF treatment Laura was able to get pregnant and when Bailey was born she was showered with love and affection by both her parents and grandparents. Possibly because of how difficult it had been for Laura to get pregnant Bailey was sheltered from a lot as a child. Her parents seemed to fear that something might happen to her if she was allowed to do what other children did. They didn’t completely shut her away from the world but they were very over protective any time they took her to the park or anywhere else.
When she was young she didn’t really think much of it but as she started to grow up she began to realise that her parents weren’t letting her do what other children did. She didn’t know they were doing it to protect her but thought that they didn’t want her to have fun. As a result she began to act out and do things that she knew her parents wouldn’t like her doing. She loved her parents but didn’t like knowing that they kept her from doing what all her friends were doing. On some level she knew that she should do as they asked but she also wanted to do what her friends were doing and as with many children peer pressure often won out. It wasn’t that she was a naughty child at all because she wasn’t, she did well in school and didn’t get in to trouble but she had started to rebel against the rules her parents had laid out for her.
The older she got the more she started to act out. This behaviour meant that she started to get in to arguments with her parents and they even threatened to ship her off to live with her grandparents if she didn’t stop breaking their rules. This threat was enough to make her behave for a while and her parents actually thought they had gotten through to her. Before long though she was starting to push the rules to see if her parents would actually notice and when nothing happened she just started flat out breaking them again. Her parents either hadn’t noticed or had realised that by trying to get her to follow the rules more they were actually pushing her in to breaking them so they stepped back and relaxed the rules hoping that it would stop her rebellious behaviour before it landed her in serious trouble.
The relaxation of the rules did seem to stop her from acting out as much as she had been and things settled down for the whole family for a while. Bailey actually applied herself more in school and her grades began to improve. They’d never been bad before but with her no longer acting out it meant that she wasn’t wasting time and energy rebelling. Being given more freedom was just what she’d wanted all along and now that she had it she wasn’t going to do anything to jeopardise that so she made sure that she abided by the rules that her parents hadn’t relaxed. It was still a long way from what she really wanted but she didn’t want to make her parents think they’d made a mistake by giving her some freedom so as much as she wanted more she knew not to push her luck.
With Bailey now doing well in school and sticking to the rules her parents were able to focus more on work again. She barely saw her parents during the week as they worked long hours so most evenings she spent round a friend’s house or at home with her grandmother who occasionally came over to help with housework. At weekends she was expected to spend time with her parents that often meant family trips to local places of interest. It was through these trips that she discovered an interest in photography. It started off as a way to pass time on some of the more boring trips that her parents insisted on taking her on. Her parents actually encouraged her interest in photography and even got her an old camera so she’d have one of her own.
When she started high school she took photography as one of her elective courses and it was easily her favourite subject. Her parents were pleased that she had finally found something that she could focus on and that seemed to make her happy. They would have preferred her to be more focused on a subject that would have given her better career choices but she was happy and that was what really mattered to them. They had always wanted her to be happy and now that she had something that she really liked they weren’t about to take it away from her. Her parents support wasn’t expected as she knew they wanted her to do something more with her life but she wasn’t about to question them about it in case they changed their mind and insisted she do something else.
As the time for her to go off to college approached she started to consider what she might actually do. She was aware that her parents wanted her to have a proper career but there wasn’t anything she really wanted to do other than photography. She knew that her job prospects wouldn’t be brilliant if that was all she did and she knew that she might never actually find a job as a photographer but that didn’t change her mind. She’d found something she really liked doing and she wasn’t willing to give it up unless she really had to. She spoke to her parents at length about it and they said it was entirely up to her what she did and that whatever she chose to do they would support her completely. With the support of her parents she decided that she would go and study photography despite the lack of choices it would leave her after college.
She looked at several colleges and applied to a fair few around the country before being accepted to the San Francisco Art Institute. While she had wanted to go to one a bit further from home it turned out that SFAI was one of the best schools for photography. After a long discussion with her parents it was decided that they would allow her to live on campus as long as she promised to come home at least one weekend a month. She agreed to their condition as they were willing to support her with money for when she was away. She’d saved up some money over the last couple of years from a small job that she had during the summer holidays so she wouldn’t be completely reliant on her parents but she was relieved that they were going to help her anyway.
She was actually looking forward to getting out from under her parents roof and when it came time to actually go off to college she was more than ready. Her parents weren’t as ready and were more than a bit emotional when they dropped her off. She didn’t see why as it wasn’t like she’d moved far away but then she’d never really understood why her parents were the way they were with her. She promised she would visit as soon as she’d settled in properly and that seemed to make her mother feel a little better. It was only after they’d left that she realised she’d actually miss having them around all the time.
Bailey quickly settled in to college life and made plenty of new friends in the first few weeks. The work wasn’t easy but that didn’t bother her as she was doing something she really wanted to do. She was determined to do the best she could because she knew that her prospects for a job after she finished were poor. She knew she wasn’t the best photographer at the college and that just made her work harder as she tried to improve as much as possible. One of the friends she made was a lot better than her and instead of rubbing it in her face she actually helped Bailey push herself and improve more than she could have done on her own.
As promised she went home one weekend a month and her parents were always happy to see her and asked her how she was getting on at college. They were just happy that she was getting on so well and doing something that she wanted to do. They never once tried to get her to change what she was doing despite the prospects for employment after she finished weren’t brilliant. She appreciated the way they accepted that she was doing what she wanted rather than what they wanted her to do.
College was everything she had hoped it would be. She had her freedom and she was doing something she loved. In her final year she met a guy through a friend. His name was Tony and he was in a band with a few of her friends. She was instantly attracted to him and did everything she could to get his attention. Initially he ignored her efforts which only made her work harder to make him notice her. Eventually it worked and he took her on a date to a local restaurant. The date went so well that they had their second date the very next night.
Over the coming months their relationship developed and she even took him home to meet her parents just before she graduated college. They weren’t exactly thrilled about the man their daughter had chosen to date but they didn’t say anything in front of him and waited to tell Bailey just what they thought until after he had left. She tried to see where they were coming from to avoid an argument but just as she always had she thought they were being overprotective and just stopping her from what she wanted to do. Things got a little heated between them and all of them said things they didn’t mean. Bailey ended up storming out and going back to her small apartment off campus to cool down.
She avoided all contact with her parents over the next few days knowing that if she spoke to them when she was still angry it would only make things worse between them. When she did finally speak to them things were strained between them which resulted in Bailey telling them she wouldn’t be visiting home again before graduation as she needed to concentrate on her work. Not exactly a lie as she did have work to finish so she didn’t feel too bad about saying what she did. She didn’t mention anything to Tony about what her parents had said because she was afraid he might agree with them and break up with her. Things were going well between them and she didn’t want to risk that.
She’d given a lot of thought as to what she might do after graduation and for a long time she hadn’t been able to decide. It was only after she’d started dating Tony and found out he was moving to Los Angeles that she decided what she was going to do. She was going to go with him and try and find a job that would allow her to put her degree to use. She’d spoken to him at length about it and finally gotten him to agree with her. She had been planning on telling her parents but with the current situation she’d put it off. She knew she’d have to tell them sooner or later though and she knew it would cause a massive argument so she decided to wait until right before she left so that they wouldn’t have a chance to try and stop her or get her to change her mind.
The day of her graduation came around and things with her parents were still strained. She’d barely spoken to them since the argument. Despite that they showed up and were happy for her. They even made an effort to be civil to Tony when he spoke to them. Bailey thought maybe they had changed their mind about him and that they were beginning to see things her way. She was wrong though. When she spoke to them alone she found out that they still thought he was bad for her and that she could do a lot better. This caused another argument between them all and in the heat of it all she let slip that she was moving to L.A with him which made things so much worse. She stormed off before they could really tell her what they thought about her moving and completely ignored all attempts they made to contact her in the following days.
If Tony knew something was bothering her he didn’t let on as they prepared to make the move to L.A. The day before they were due to leave Bailey decided that she would try and patch things up with her parents. When she went to speak to them they actually made an effort to apologise for the things they had said to her at her graduation and that they had only said them because they loved her and were concerned for her. She accepted their apology and said that she would keep in touch but she was still moving with Tony. They might not have liked it but they didn’t try and change her mind or convince her to stay. With the air cleared she could finally feel good about the move and the start of her new life.
Life in L.A wasn’t exactly what Bailey had been expecting but then she hadn’t really known what to expect so it shouldn’t have come as too much of a shock when neither of them could find jobs for the first couple of weeks that they were there. Bailey tried every single place she could think of to get a job that was in any way related to photography but there didn’t seem to be anything at all so she ended up settling for a waitressing job in a dingy diner not far from their apartment. The job was horrible and some of the customers made her skin crawl but they needed money and so far Tony hadn’t been able to find anything so it was down to her to earn money so they could pay their bills and actually eat food. What she got paid barely covered their bills so she made the effort to be as nice to customers as possible so that they might tip her better. She also picked up as many shifts as the owner would allow her to have which often meant she worked doubles and didn’t get home until the early hours of the morning.
Eventually Tony found work too though what that work was Bailey wasn’t sure because anytime she tried to ask him about it he said it was a mix of things. She could never get a straight answer from him about it which made her suspicious that he’d gotten mixed up in something illegal. She started to get even more suspicious when he began bringing home more and more money. She kept asking him about it but he would never give her a real answer so she stopped asking and decided that she would find out for herself. She wasn’t entirely sure how she was going to find out what he was up to but she wanted to make sure he wasn’t doing anything that would get them both in to serious trouble.
Bailey started keeping a record of when he went off to work and how long he was gone for as well as how much money he seemed to be bringing home to try and see if there was any pattern. There didn’t seem to be a pattern or at least not one that she could pick out. When that idea didn’t give her any results she realised she was going to have to follow him and try and see what he was up to. She found out when he would be working next and left the apartment saying that she was off to work before disappearing down an alleyway that she knew he would have to walk past when he left. It wasn’t long before he left for work and she set out to follow him. They seemed to walk for miles and she was beginning to think that he’d just gone for a walk when he turned down a side alley. She ran to catch up with him but when she made it to the alley it was empty. She walked further down to see if there was another alley running off or a door that he might have gone through but there was nothing. As she turned to walk out though there was someone blocking her way and they refused to move when she tried to get past. Before she knew it she was trapped and there was another person at the other end of the alley. She had no way out.
What happened next she wasn’t sure but there was a noise behind her and the person that had been blocking her way was gone so she turned her attention to the remaining person who was now walking towards her slowly like he didn’t have a care in the world. The way he walked made her think of a predator and she had to fight the growing urge to turn and run. A noise from above made her jump as something crashed down behind the person walking her way. Whatever it was caused him to stop his forward momentum and turn the other way. Bailey took that opportunity to run. As she ran she glanced behind her and couldn’t believe what she saw. A huge dog or something that looked like a dog on steroids attacking the person that had been following her, the sight was so bizarre that she kept her eyes behind her for too long and ended up tripping over something. She fell against the wall and when she turned back the person was gone and the animal was coming towards her, fast. She picked herself up as quickly as she could, stumbling to get away she didn’t realise her leg had gotten caught on something and she fell her head hitting the wall hard enough for her to black out.
When she woke up she expected to still be in the alleyway. There had been part of her that hadn’t expected to wake up at all but when she did she was back in her apartment tucked in to bed with a bandage on her head. When she went to move she discovered she wasn’t alone, Tony was there sitting in the chair by the dresser. He seemed different somehow but she couldn’t put her finger on it. He told her that he’d known she was following him and had taken a shortcut to lose her which is when the people had cornered her. He went on to say that when he heard some commotion from the alley he’d gone back and found her lying unconscious on the ground. When she asked about the animal he said he hadn’t seen anything. It was then that she realised what was different about him, it was his eyes, they were the same colour as the animal that had ran after her. She called him a liar and to her surprise he went on to tell her everything.
What he told her almost made her wish she’d imagined the animal. Tony told her his entire life history and as it turned out there was a lot of it. He was a werewolf and an old werewolf or at least she thought so. There was so much information she struggled to keep everything straight and by the time he’d finished she fell asleep again. When she woke the next morning he was sitting in the chair again and for a moment she thought she’d imagined everything that he’d told her. That somehow everything had been a dream due to a concussion but it hadn’t. It was all true.
Over the next few days Bailey asked him so many questions about what it was like to be a werewolf, anything that she could think of she asked him about until she ran out of questions and he ran out of answers. Eventually she asked him to show him what he looked like. The alley had been so dark that she hadn’t been able to see him properly. At first he was reluctant to show her because he thought it might scare her, she assured him it wouldn’t and he gave in. She was anything but scared when she saw him. In fact she was in awe. She had no words to describe how he looked and when he turned back she asked him to turn her so that she could be a werewolf with him. He told her that it wasn’t something to just ask for without serious thought and made sure he pointed out that she wouldn’t have control for over a century and that it wasn’t all fun and games. There was more out there than just other werewolves. There were vampires. It turned out he’d left the fact that the people who had tried to attack her that night were vampires out. When he told her that only made her more insistent that he turn her. He refused and said that she should think on it more and if she still wanted to be turned after a month then he would do it.
A month passed and she still wanted him to turn her so he did. He’d explained that it would be better if he was in wolf form when he did because it was easier for him to break the skin with his claws than to attempt it with his nails or his human teeth. All he did was give her the smallest scratch across her back, it hurt and made her cry out but it wasn’t as bad as she’d been expecting. When he changed back he said it might take a few days before she felt any different. Bailey didn’t seem to care about that, she was just happy that she was going to get to spend forever with the man she loved.
It wasn’t until a few days later that she started to notice the changes, they were small at first and barely noticeable to anyone but when she started getting stronger and her senses more acute she decided that she needed to change jobs before someone noticed that she was now able to carry a lot more than she’d been able to before. It didn’t take long for her to find another job far enough away from the diner that it would be unlikely that anyone she knew would come in and notice the changes in her. The job was at a Starbucks, far from ideal but better than nothing. She took the job and made sure that the manager knew she had a longstanding commitment that meant she couldn’t work several nights a month. Thankfully the manager was more than understanding and ensured her that it wouldn’t be a problem just as long as she made sure to give him the dates long enough in advance so that he wouldn’t have to mess with rotas.
As her first full moon approached Tony made arrangements for somewhere to lock her up. She was nervous about it but he told her everything would be fine and that he wouldn’t let anything happen to her. Bailey trusted him and when he said that she knew she didn’t have anything to worry about regarding her not being able to hurt anyone. She was worried about what it would feel like to change though. She’d asked Tony about it and all he’d been able to say was that it would be like nothing she had ever felt before.
When the night before the full moon arrived Tony took her to the place he had arranged for her to be locked up. It looked like an abandoned warehouse of some sort but she never actually asked what it had been. Bailey wasn’t exactly looking forward to her first change but it was much too late to change her mind and undo it all. When the change came she understood why Tony had been unable to explain it, he was right it was like nothing she had ever felt before. What she hadn’t been expecting was the pain. It was so bad that she practically passed out from it.
When she came to the next morning she was exhausted. Tony explained that she had spent the entire night pacing the cage and worrying the bars trying to get free. He took her home and she slept almost the entire day away barely waking up in time to get something to eat before they went back to the warehouse for the second night. It was much the same as the first night and she remembered little about it when she woke up on the floor of the cage the next morning. She felt slightly better than she had the first night but still slept most of the day away when they got back to their apartment.
When she woke up to get something to eat before they left for the third night she found Tony writing a letter. When she asked him what it was he said it was nothing she needed to worry about and that they should get ready to go. She thought nothing more of it as she got ready to leave. When they arrived at the warehouse she thought Tony was acting strange and when she asked him if anything was wrong he said it was just the effect of the moon and that she didn’t need to worry herself about it. She thought no more about it and just concentrated on getting through the last night.
The next morning she woke to silence and she knew something was wrong before she opened her eyes and looked around. The room was empty and there was no sign of Tony anywhere. She tried to remember if he had said anything to her or done anything when she was a wolf that might tell her where he was. She thought she remembered him saying sorry and walking out but she couldn’t be sure if it was a memory or something she had imagined. It was only when a man she didn’t know walked in and handed her an envelope that it all became clear. Tony had left her.
In the letter it explained that he had never wanted a mate and if he stuck with her that is what they would become. It went on to say that he hadn’t wanted to turn her but he knew if he hadn’t have done it she would have pestered him constantly so he’d given in and stayed around long enough to see her through her first cycle. She couldn’t believe what she was reading. It made no sense to her and she hadn’t seen any signs that there had been anything wrong. As it turned out he’d been planning to leave since he’d turned her and he’d had no intention of sticking around. The only plus was that the arrangements he’d made for the lunar cycle were long standing and would be available to her as long as she wanted them. It was a very small plus and it didn’t make up for the fact that he’d abandoned her when she needed him more than ever.
Bailey felt a deep sense of loss for a while before the grief turned to anger. She almost admitted to her parents that they had been right about Tony but she didn’t want to give them the satisfaction and she also didn’t want to explain just why he had left. She started to save as much money as she could from her job and before long she had enough money to move to a different apartment. She didn’t want to be around anything that reminded her of Tony and how he had left her like that. She quickly settled in to single life and started to live a little now that she wasn’t working to support two people in a large apartment. With her new freedom in life she opened up more and started to show her true colours at work which didn’t go down well with everyone but she had always lived her life for other people. First her parents and then Tony, though she hadn’t realised that until after he’d left her. Now she lives life for her and doesn’t make excuses for how she is. She is doing the best she can but being a new wolf with little to no support isn’t easy. She has friends but none of them know what she really is and until she finds someone that understands she is just going to have to do what she can to understand what she is now.
