Eli’s biggest mistake at that moment was his failure to anticipate his ‘owner’s’ return, and he inwardly reprimanded himself for it, cowering before she had even finished her descent. He knew he had done wrong, just from the way she walked right towards him, ignoring Flynn initially, targeting the older wolf. He hated being so tall… he was easier to notice. He couldn’t hide as well…
All the while she had hold of him, he didn’t fight her. He knew better than to fight her. When he was in control of his own movements and thoughts and actions, he never, never fought her. It wasn’t allowed, and it wasn’t right, and it always, always led to pain; whippings, bitings, beatings… she varied her punishments, and Eli had been with her long enough to ‘experience’ all of them, to varying degrees.
Giving a whimper of a sound as he was driven down into the floor, eyes squeezed shut as she pushed down, he knew instantly who she was referring to. His eyes opened as her heel was released, and timidly looked up, trembling and apologetic.
“I’m sorry,” he said to her without hesitation, keeping his eyes lowered, feeling hers staring down at him relentlessly, and he wished he could hide from her; become smaller and easier to miss…

As soon as Flynn had heard Katrina returning, he had quickly pulled the glasses away from the shackle and reattached the plastic earpiece, shoving the glasses aside again, all the while being careful to keep the chains from rattling. He didn’t want to draw attention to himself while he was putting away the only tool he had to work with.
He couldn’t even bring himself to watch the vampire’s brutal treatment of the other werewolf, averting his eyes. He felt guilty for it- he wanted to help- but knew that there was nothing he could do. He couldn’t seem to bring up the courage to do anything against her except attempting escape when she wasn’t there. Even the mention of her ‘training’ him couldn’t seem to get any response but a slight shudder.

Katrina shook her head softly. Her hand reached back and with a crack that echoed around the basement walls, struck him across the temple. "You can do far better than that, Eli. Far better." The blow knocked the wolf to the floor, and she knelt on one knee, digging her fingernails through the wound to his shoulder.
As he cowered she said in a little singsong whisper - "Little Eli... you need to apologise to your mistress Katrina..." as she finished her name, she pulled him up by his hair, and licked the blood from his face in a slow, careful movement. When she finished, she threw him back again, delicately wiping the corner of her mouth with a fingertip.
"Silver adds such a tang." She gave a cold smile. "Now. Again. Properly."

Very much like a child, Eli cowered back after colliding with the wall again. He knew better than to wipe at his face where she had licked the blood away, but he couldn’t fight the trembling that wracked his form out of fear and pain for at least a few moments as he collected his voice, pushing down the sensation of a fresh flow from his shoulder wound, at least until Katrina was gone again, if she left at all after catching the two werewolves talking so casually…
Not daring to look at Flynn or the vampire in front of him, he addressed her as quickly and coherently as the barrage of attacks allowed him to, “I’m sorry, Lady Katrina.” He kept his head lowered, instinctual, animalistic and submissive, keeping quiet after he had spoken the words.

Flynn bit his lip rather hard- he actually tasted blood from it- and gave a little flinch as he heard Eli apologize again and call the vampire ‘Lady Katrina’. He felt sick to his stomach just listening to everything that was going on, so he could only imagine what it would be like if he was actually watching. When he thought about it, he decided that thinking was a bad idea too. It was unsettling.
He shifted slightly, trying to make sure that his chains didn’t rattle. He felt absolutely terrible about not wanting to draw Katrina’s attention but that was how things were. He just wanted her to go away again. Leave the basement and go take that nap she had mentioned earlier. At least that would mean that he had another chance to get himself loose and get both him and Eli out of there. He couldn’t possibly escape and leave the other werewolf with the vampire…

It wasn't that Katrina didn't approve of Eli's being nearly completely under her control. It was just so much less fun than breaking him down. "Oh my dear Eli." She carressed his hair in what would have been a tender fashion... had it been anyone but Katrina doing it. "Whatever possessed you last night.. you'll not get the chance today. Get up to the kitchen - now. Go." She unshackled him. "Clean yourself up, and get food for yourself... and our... " she looked over at Flynn - her eyes narrowing - "guest." She kicked him, almost as an afterthought - then moved over to the other man.. smiling a smile that did not continue to her eyes.
"Flynn." The voice was flat. "I give you power - I expect so little. And look how you repay me." With a smooth, deliberate motion she put her boot down on his glasses, grinding them into the stone. The hinges snapped, and the frame bent and snapped into pieces from the crushing boot. Kicking the remains of the pair out of his reach, she put her head down to his, her hand coming under his chin, gripping it so hard that her fingernails made small trails of blood trickle. Leaning forward, her fangs bared, she spoke quietly -
"Apparently you misunderstood me before." The pressure was causing the blood from Flynn's lip to ooze down his chin, and she leaned forward slowly, tracing the blood trail with her eyes before carefully licking it up - slowly tracing to his lip before pulling back, blood on her lips. His blood.
"You are mine now. And tonight, you will know what that means, before you lose yourself to the moon. So between me... and the moon... two beings with extraordinary power, and beauty...don't you think?" She looked at him.. and waited for his answer.
And it was very clear what would happen if she didn't like it.

He had looked up when he was fairly certain that the violence was over and a brief, almost unnoticeable narrowing of his eyes was his only reaction to the kick and, when Katrina started towards him, he tried to keep himself from pressing himself against the wall. He knew that wouldn’t work, but by the time she had crushed and kicked away his glasses- his only hope- licked away the blood (it had been all he could do not gag) and asked her question, Flynn wished that he could have pressed himself against the wall and disappeared into it. That most certainly would have been better than this.
Feeling the blood trickling from the wounds caused by the vampire’s fingernails, he swallowed hard. He knew that he had to give an answer that she would like or risk some very serious consequences. The problem with that was the fact that he didn’t know if he would actually be able to say it in a tone that would make her happy. He could definitely try, though. The thought of the still heating silver brand helped him with that.
“Yeah… You’re… you’re both definitely powerful…” Just say it because she’s likely to make things worse otherwise. “And… and beautiful.” Oh, he hoped that would work.

Eli cradled a hand to his kicked side, trying not to breathe for fear of making more noise than was acceptable to Katrina, and he watched her walk away through the shadowed veil of hair that fell over his brow dirtily. He had his orders, and he automatically started to obey them, pulling himself shakily up from the floor, one hand still to his side as he got his feet under him, heading for the stairs.
He didn’t look back as he walked, knowing he shouldn’t. It wasn’t his place, or his right. He had his orders, and he had to carry them out. He started up the stairs quietly, moving as swiftly as the injuries allowed, and before long, he had vanished from the basement without so much as a whimper.

Her laugh was light, caressing. "He learns. Slowly, but he does learn." She released his face, but kept her face close to his. "You only missed one thing." Her arm snaked out and backhanded him, knocking him back from her to crash against the stone.
"Never, ever, ever - " She leaned over him, her eyes glowing - "forget your courtesy with a lady. You should have followed it up." Shaking her head slightly - one almost would think she was hiding a smile - the joke only in her mind.
Turning from Flynn, she shoved him to the ground and stalked away from him a few paces. The fight with Eli required her to sleep - but she had a new dog to break in... and if the human bit was trained a little... it certainly would be helpful. Perhaps she should just brand him now before she slept... then tonight she could leave the pair to howl... and go out on her own. The thought was pleasant, and she turned to the fire, placing the brand into the coals and moving them til sparks flew.
"This will hurt." She laughed. "And will continue to hurt. But it will remind you of one thing... and one thing alone. You now belong to me." Her lip curved. She knew only one thing that would make this worse... or rather... more fun... and the idea that was building in her mind was becoming more and more appealing.
She leaned against the wall, staring at Flynn...and waited for Eli to return.

God, whatever I did to deserve this, I’m sorry. He stayed where he was for a moment, looking at her through hair that was hanging limply over his forehead and into his eyes. He had no doubts that the branding was going to hurt and the thought of it continuing to hurt… He really didn’t want to think about that.
Instead, he sat up slowly, pushing hair out of his eyes, still watching her warily. He made a mental note of what had happened- not that he would actually be able to forget that anytime soon- and told himself that he would have to keep ‘courtesy’ in mind whenever he spoke to Katrina because, naturally, he really would prefer not to get knocked around if he could possibly help it. I’m not calling her ‘Lady’ anything, though. Not if I can get around that. That was a way of holding on to a bit of his freedom while he was chained up, but he knew perfectly well that he would let go of that if push came to shove. If he was going to be stuck here, which he obviously was for the time being, he was going to have to be as careful as possible.
Still, he could feel his stomach clench. There was no doubt in his mind that this was going to be a living hell. It already was, but it was obviously going to get worse, a thought that made him desperately wish that he had just died the previous night. That would have been infinitely better than this.

Continued from: The Kitchen.
Moving down the steps as quickly and quietly as he could, he set the tray down out of the way, and timidly looked towards Katrina, where she stood laconically and yet elegantly by the fireplace where the brand heated. His shoulder almost seemed to sting at the thought of what she was about to do to Flynn.
His eyes travelled guiltily to the younger wolf in question, and his throat felt dry all over again. Eli hung his head briefly, before tilting it slightly in the vampire’s direction, expecting more commands any second. That was, after all, the way this worked.

"Don't just stand there like a hang dog - take him his food." Katrina was beginning to feel the aches of needing sleep, and any feeling of weakness annoyed her. "You'll eat yours shortly." She looked over the tray quickly before he did, noting with satisfaction that he'd done exactly as she'd wanted. It would be fun training another... most definitely.
She watched as he moved to the tray. "And after he's had some food... we'll get to what I want to do." Waiting until Eli had placed it beside Flynn and come back to her side, she curled her fingers in his hair and gripped it lightly. Pushing him until he knelt, she ordered him - "Remove the top. Now. You're going to show our guest here what he has to look forward to... my brand. And..." She nearly purred this last... "You'll have the honor of bestowing it upon him."

Eli started, and dutifully did as he was told, taking one of the plates from the simple tray and one of the glasses of water, before taking them into Flynn’s reach. Setting them down, he kept his distance, as if he expected the newly-turned werewolf to snap or lash out at him, when really, such a thing was far from possible; not only was Flynn far from volatile, which he actually knew for himself but right then was too ‘obedient’ to Katrina to really acknowledge, but if there was one thing Eli could do, and well, it was defend himself. He had tackled that black wolf a few nights ago, after all, and without much difficulty… he had realised later that the other male had probably been a fair bit older than him, as well.
After being pushed down to his knees, Eli closed his eyes, tightly at first before the expression loosened in a familiar resignation. Steadily, he pulled the sweater from over his head, leaving his upper torso bare, exposing the scars and fresher wounds that he had cleaned. The brand Katrina referred to was on the back of his shoulder, and he twisted, still down low to appease Katrina, showing Flynn the scarring as he tried not to think about what he would have to do to the other wolf…

A frown flickered across Flynn’s face as he took in Eli’s scars, but when he saw the brand, he knew that he paled and he quite honestly didn’t care. The thought of branding was a sick one and knowing that it was in his near future… He had half a mind to tell the vampire that if she wanted to brand him, then she should do it herself. It wasn’t fair to force Eli into doing it. Still, he didn’t. He didn’t dare because there was no telling what she might do if he did. He found that it was annoying having to worry about what the so obviously psychotic redhead would do if he made a wrong move, but he couldn’t help it. The last thing he wanted to do was give her a reason to prove just how cruel she could be.
Flynn was only able to look at the brand for a brief second before he had to look away, stomach clenching unpleasantly. The word ‘psychotic’ kept going through his mind, often accompanied by a rude word or two that also described the vampire, all of which was going to be kept safely unsaid. It was hard to believe that less twenty-four hours before he had been at work, complaining about coffee in the computers and wondering what sort of other ‘disasters’ he was going to have to deal with. Suddenly, all of that seemed terribly trivial. It was.

Katrina moved away from Eli to Flynn in a smooth, graceful walk. "We won't bother with niceties anymore." She removed a small dagger and slit his shirt from the back, ripping it from him and pushing him to the floor.
"Here. It will be here, Eli." She made an x - with the dagger in the skin on his left shoulder blade. It was light, and was only seeping blood softly. "I'd say this wasn't going to hurt, but... " She laughed. "It will. And for some time."
She put her face close to Flynn's and smiled, fangs bared. "Welcome to the family."
Her laughter echoed from the walls until she stopped and looked to Eli. "Now."
