“You should see the inside during daylight. At sunrise when the light first hits the main stain glass window or sunset as the light is fading and it reflects the light through the building… it is something worth seeing. I try and see it at least once a week. Helps to remind me the beauty God put in the world, because sometimes you need to see that there is still that.” Denny shrugged slightly, ignoring the fact that the thought Iris herself had some of God’s beauty in her. He would have to repent for that thought later.
“In fact you should come by during the day for even better shots of the exterior. I know it won’t have the moon in like you need, but you can’t see all the details of the stonework in this light.” He ran his finger over the beads in his rosary as he talked, drawing comfort from the solid presence of his faith in his pocket. It gave him the courage to plough ahead with talking even if he was normally so shy. The fact he was talking about the church helped too.

“It sounds amazing,” Iris said truthfully. “I’ve been to services a few times here, but I’ve never been at sunrise or sunset. I’d like to see the church at one of those times, so I’ll have to try and make a point of being here for one of those times soon if I can.” She was trying very hard to stop thinking about how positively adorable the man before her was, but it was proving to be hard.
At his mention of photographing the church in the daylight, she gave a nod. “I really should do that on my day off. Like any decent photographer- not that I actually consider myself a decent one- photography is my hobby as well as my job.” She gave a little shrug and another smile. “I suppose there’s always the chance that we might end up needing a daytime shot and even if it’s never needed for the paper, I think I’d like to have a few for my own collection.” Wouldn’t mind having a few pictures of him for my collection, either.

“I work in the church so anytime you want to have a look around, I’ll be more than happy to show you. I pretty much live here so the chances are good that you’ll find me here,” Denny replied trying his best not to flush as he talked. Don’t flush red, don’t flush red, don’t flush red This short conversation with Iris Marcus was the longest non professional one he had had with a non family member in a long time.
“Speaking of work, I had better get inside before the Father wonders what has become of me,” he added, hands slipping into his dark charcoal grey trouser pockets. “It was a pleasure to meet you,” Denny added, looking slightly awkward and shy as he spoke.

“Oh, I didn’t mean to keep you from work,” Iris said, feeling immediately guilty. “I’m sorry. It was a pleasure to meet you, too, Denny.” She thought that perhaps she would have to go inside and see him again before she and Poppy left, but she would check and make sure he wasn’t busy before she went over.
“I might take you up on the offer to show me sometime. I’d like that.” She was still smiling softly and found herself desperately hoping that she wasn’t coming across the wrong way to him.

“It was no problem Iris. God will understand why I’m a little late,” he smiled again, hoping to reassure her. Denny could tell she felt bad about distracting him – it was a talent of his, to read people well, taking in their looks, expressions and tone of voice. “And Father MacKenzie would never forgive me if I was on time but as a result didn’t stop to help or talk to you. It would have been unquestionably rude of me.”
He nodded in farewell to Iris’s sister before doing a sharp little bow at the photographer – his mother had raised him well and taught him to be polite, even if bowing in farewell was slightly old fashioned. Then Denny turned on his heel and hurried up the steps without looking back, feeling his face burn bight red.

Poppy bounded over to Iris as Deiniol moved up the marble steps and into the building. She had to admit, anyone who could pull off a suit that well – he seemed to fill out the outfit perfectly – as well as have the good fashion sense to wear said outfit; dark charcoal suit, rich red tie and a dark burgundy style shirt, was alright by her books. But only alright. There was a big different between being alright and being alright in connection to Iris. She still wasn’t sure about the last.
“Having fun?” she asked her sister who was still looking up the steps after the young man. “Stop drooling,” Poppy added in a teasing tone, her finger flicking out and swatting at Iris’s arm. “It’s most unbecoming…”

Iris really thought that she had blushed at the bow- she had never had a man bow to her before- and found it extremely hard to pull her gaze away and to her sister. The man really did look good in that suit…
“I’m not drooling, brat,” Iris replied, waving a hand in her sister’s direction as if trying to shoo away a fly. “And if you must know, I am having fun. On a completely professional level, of course. Come on. I’ve got work to do.”
Had she known that Poppy worried about whether any man was alright for her, Iris would have pointed out that that was her job. After all, the older sister was supposed to worry about whether a guy was good enough for her younger sister, not the other way around. Though she would have been touched, she would have had to point out that it wasn’t Poppy’s place to worry about whether a guy was alright enough for her.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m sure your mind is completely focused on the job and not at all on the guy who just left,” Poppy answered with a grin, tongue sticking out of her mouth for a moment in an utterly childish move. She bounced up and down on her heels, eyes shifting from the closed door of the church and then back to her sister.
“Soooo… what do you think of Denny? He is a cutie…” Poppy mused softly, thoughtfully. “Remember, you promised that I would be the first to know if there was a man,” she added, backing away to let Iris do her work. Teasing could wait until after the photos had been taken – and then it would begin in earnest.

“He’s handsome,” Iris admitted, locating the moon in relation to the church and moving into position to get both into a shot, “but considering that we just met, I don’t think you have to worry about their being a man in my life.” She snapped a couple of photos and changed positions in order to take a few more pictures from a different angle. “Trust me, as nice as it would be to have a man in my life, I don’t think it’s likely to happen for a while.” She shot her sister a little grin and a shrug. “Not that I’d argue if it ended up that cutie that just went into the church.”

“Well he seems like a nice Catholic boy. You go for him girl,” Poppy encouraged, watching as her sister efficiently got to work, taking shot after shot. It never failed to impress her, the ability her sister had to see a scene in front of her and not only catch it fully in a photo but to make the image almost better than the original itself. It made Poppy some what envious some times. But she had her own skills and talents, ones she wouldn’t trade.
Poppy only wished she had someone who even looked at her in any non creepy way. Well, there had been that man in the library a week or so bad but he had been disturbing, the way he had all but followed her around the building. She hadn’t mentioned him to her sister – she doubted it would have gone down well.

Iris gave a chuckle and shook her head. “If I have half the chance, I might just take that advice,” she admitted, snapping a few more photos. “It’s not like I’ve got any other possibilities and he really does seem pretty nice. He seems like a gentleman and the fact that he’s also cute doesn’t hurt anything at all.”
Poppy was smart in keeping that bit about the guy following her around. Iris would have flown off the handle and likely would have haunted the library, watching and trying to figure out who he was in order to deal with him herself.

“He also looks good in a suit.” Poppy agreed, taking another step backwards and leaning against the bonnet of Iris’s car. She watched as her sister took some more photos, wondering if she would be able to find what she needed here – in work terms anyway. Who knew what she needed outside of that. “Do you think we need to go anywhere else or do you think you have we need?” she asked, rubbing her hands together lightly to keep them warm.
Poppy hadn’t seen the man since that first day a week ago and she certainly hoped she wouldn’t see him again. He had given the young student the creeps, not just his poor personal hygiene or the empty stare he had repeatedly fixed her with, but also the way he had lurked near her when all she could hear was his heavy breathing.

“That he does,” Iris agreed, taking a few more shots. “I was thinking that we could head to the outskirts of the city so I can get some shots of the skyline with the moon.” She took a couple of more pictures and lowered the camera. “What do you say we go inside for a couple of minutes?” She tried to ask it casually, but she imagined that it was likely that Poppy would catch on. Iris couldn’t deny that she just wanted to check Denny out one more time before heading off again.

“Uh-huh… strange how you suddenly want to look inside even though you need to take shots outdoor shots, not ones of pretty… buildings…” Poppy grinned, not buying the attempt at casual at all. It was obvious Iris wanted to take a second look at the foreign young man – and she couldn’t blame her at all. If he had spoken to her… well, Poppy would be inside already.
“Alright then, let’s go inside. Take a look at the handsome stonework and craftsmanship.” She grinned and bounded up the steps ahead of Iris, excited in her own way to take a look inside. It would be interesting to see the church during the night with only artificial light.

Her car was an inconspicuous thing, a simple family looking car and Yelena hated it but times had changed. With werewolves running the night it simply wasn't safe to be her usual ostentatious self when she was out and about. She might have been a little bit to the left of sane but she knew enough to value her un-life and not want to make waves and draw attention, most of the time. In any case she had to be contented with dressing up in satins and furs and looking like she belonged in a high end escort service.
She had been rolling through the streets for sometime when she passed by a Church and her off yellow eyes picked up that it was Catholic to boot. She smiled to herself, maliciously and pulled into the parking lot. She had a long history with the Catholic faith and the scars to prove it. Maybe a little...'drive thru' was in order. Yelena shut off the car's engine and got out, having made sure to park close to the building. She straightened her dress out beneath her cloak like jacket that let her black leather, bondage style boots show fully as she walked into the Church interior.
