Stepping into the room, Nate quickly came to the conclusion that it was, as Cole had said, unoccupied. The grand piano sat, in pride of place, just off-centre, and there were various other pieces of equipment and instruments around the room; guitars, a drum kit, keyboards, and the odd brass instrument… there were perhaps other things Nate couldn’t see, and in fact knew to be secreted in drawers or closets in the room, but he had no need to hunt them out. What had once been the Hyperion’s grand dining hall had been easily converted into the large room for the more musically inclined members of the pack.
Not that Nate was complaining…
Husky hot on his heels — tail wagging as always — the doctor headed over to the piano, and played a miniature, swift piece. It was perfectly in tune… not that he’d had any reason to think otherwise. Setting down his bag under the piano’s polished body, he settled himself on the cushioned stool, and was silent for a moment, before he started to play; quietly at first, but soon building in confidence, and subsequently, volume.

Sissy stopped just inside the music room, head tilted as she listened to Nate play. She had never been musically inclined- she couldn't carry a tune to save her life and instruments were far beyond her talents- but she appreciated talent when she encountered it. She really didn't want to interrupt, rather content to stand there and listen. Despite having been able to hear the music perfectly before entering the room, she couldn't help but think it was better from her new spot. She smiled, watching him play.

Cassidy leaned against the other side of the doorway, head tilted. She recognised the piece, but couldn’t put her finger on the name. If Brock had noticed them, he didn’t call any attention to their presence; she smirked at the dog, giving him a ‘friendly’ wink. Hell, Brock was helping them sneak up on the doctor, so he was in Cassidy’s good books. Then again, she didn’t know if Brock had ever been in any of the pack’s bad books, now she came to think of it.
Glancing to Sissy briefly, she watched the human again, almost itching to join him.

Nate may not have been a werewolf with heightened senses, but he knew when he was being watched. Of course, since he didn’t have eyes in the back of his head, he couldn’t tell who it was.
“You can come in, y’know,” he said calmly from his seat, playing the bridge of the piece. “I understand you’re the ones more likely to bite than I am.” He smiled somewhat fainter after that, wondering how whoever it was would react. If it was one of the younger wolves, he might have struck a nerve; even if they weren’t too young, if they had still been bitten and not born, then he could very well have driven them off.
Smooth…

Sissy, not really being one to take such things badly, grinned and cast Cass a glance before saying, "Maybe, but I wouldn't tempt us if I were you." Her mood was already switching from bored to entertained, which gave it a real boost. "You might accidentally convince us to try giving biting a chance."
She moved into the room now. "You can just ignore us." But I hope you don't. "We're just here to see if we can find a book I left in here." She had every intention of making the search a slow one if for no other reason than to look at Nate for a little while longer.

He glanced over his shoulder at them, offering them a warm smile. “Of course, if you were tempted into biting, I might have a little trouble explaining at work why I need every full moon off.” He pulled a face; amused and thoughtful, almost. “Y’know, it gets pretty crazy at the hospital on the full moon.” Nate jerked his head a little, to show them they were more than welcome to come on in.
Brock rose from his seat, and padded with a more controlled enthusiasm over to the two girls, tail wagging and tongue lolling as always. “I haven’t seen any books though. Unless you include these…” In a break from using both hands, settling on just using his left, he tapped a piano book with his right.

She scratched Brock behind the ears with a smile and said, "Well, you know what they say about the full moon right? Brings out the crazies, but some of us are crazier than others. As for the book, it's not going to be one of those unless Stephen King has started writing music." She paused and shook her head. "There's a weird thought." She patted Brock's head and went about looking for the novel in the various cabinets and drawers around the room. It had very likely gotten moved to one of them. As she searched, she shot quick glances to Nate, trying to keep them as unnoticable as possible.

When the dog came over to her, after moving along from Sissy, she crouched and gave him a rather affectionate but playful cuddle, laughing when he made a kind of yipping noise that was almost like a canine giggle. She had to admit the dog was too adorable for his own good. Tickling behind his ears until he gave a little groan, she headed off and sat beside Nate on the piano, letting Sissy get to her searching. When Nate’s eyes turned on her, she shrugged.
“She lost the book, not me,” she clarified with a smile. “I’m just here for moral support.” She grinned. “Chopsticks?”
Nate laughed, and they got to playing; slowly at first, before picking up speed. All the while, Cassidy kept turning her eyes towards the other female, noticing how she would look back towards the piano every now and again… not only that, but she was being discreet about it. Cassidy’s lips turned up softly in a smirk.

Moral support my foot, Sissy thought, rummaging through drawers one handed since she was still holding the trail mix bag. You wanted to come flirt. Not that she could blame the other werewolf. After all, she had only wanted to come search for the book now so that she could watch Nate for a bit.
As she pulled open the next drawer, she spotted the novel and pulled it out, almost disappointed that she had found it so quickly. Instead of saying anything, she pulled it out silently, shut the drawer and settled herself into one of the chairs that were kept in the room. Leaning back in it, she watched the pair at the piano, listening in silence as they played.

Nate hadn't played the erratic piece in a while, and given that - despite how old she looked - Cassidy had been playing at least a century longer than him, it didn't take him long to make a mistake. The redhead werewolf at his side laughed to herself, victoriously.
"I win."
The human cocked his head. "I didn't realise we were competing," he said, glancing across the room to Sissy. "Oh, hey, you found your book," he pointed out needlessly with a smile.

Continued from The Lobby with Cole:
Mara hesitated at the sound of chatting coming from the room before her and watched Cole walk in without any hesitation at all. There were two females, young, though that was not an accurate judge any longer for her - and a young man as well. Also a very personable husky, who came tearing up to Cole, wagging his tail, then ran over to Mara, giving a yip of greeting. Smiling, she bent to pat the dog and waited for Cole to make the introductions.
The room was very nice and Mara considered absently that she'd need a room for developing her photos - and the people around her exuded such energy that she was itching to get a camera and try to capture each of them. How am I becoming so calm... this is getting weirder by the minute.

Sissy had given a half grin and a light shrug to Nate's comment about her finding her book. Before that, she had sported a raised eyebrow at the competition he had unknowingly found himself in.
Catching Cole's scent, as well as one she didn't recognize, she looked up towards the door. As much as she loved meeting new people, she managed to stay in her seat rather than bounding over and introducing herself. She always had pent up energy and had become very adept at keeping it under control. Instead, she smiled a greeting.

Cole had insisted to Kyle that he needn't accompany them to the music room; the Alpha was still smiling at the fighter's frown by the time they got through the door. Brock seemed all too fascinated by the stranger, and was making his presence well and truly known, even as Cole acknowledged those in the room.
He should have known the young females would be in here too; Nate often attracted a companion or two, for whatever reason... though it wasn't unlike Cassidy and Sissy to be those who kept him company.
"Mara, this is Cassidy Blake and Sissy Donovan; two more of the pack. And this is Nate Wilder, our doctor... and his dog, Brock." Cole chuckled. "Everyone, this is Mara Harper."

Turning his head from the piano at the sound of people coming through, Nate smiled in a welcoming, reassuring manner, even as Brock bounded over to greet this new individual. Taking his cue as Cole made the introductions, he rose from the stool, glancing once to Cassidy before he did so. Making his way across the room, he offered a hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Mara. Can I call you Mara?" Perhaps he was too worried about being polite, but whatever the reason, he caused the Alpha male to smile all the same.
At least someone's enjoying himself... not counting Brock.

Sissy had nodded at her name and had to force the smile to stay in place as the wolf became agitated. She knew what the problem was and it was all she could do to not roll her eyes. He's human, she thought. Cute, but human and I'm not biting him. You just calm down. The wolf hadn't cared much for Cassidy sitting beside Nate, the way he had looked over to her or the way he was offering to shake hands with Mara. Sissy personally knew that none of it was really that big a deal, but the wolf seemed to see things completely differently. She didn't notice her smile falter as she fought with the wolf, who was getting more on edge about even the smallest things as the full moon neared.
