Continued from: Carey Hall; The Front Lobby with Katrina.
All the way into the city, Eli did his best to awaken his primal instincts, using a number of tricks he'd taught himself over the years. These methods were private, and not something he would share with anyone... even Katrina; she just assumed his thrill of the chase was what awoke the inner animal every time, which, in part, was true. If they ran, he chased... it was instinct; he couldn't fight that. Not at his age.
The approach of the full moon would make him all the more eager to hunt, he knew... it was little comfort. It was bad enough that Katrina never let him turn away while she fed.
They arrived at The Onyx nightclub, seeing it was in full swing, even if the sun hadn't been down too long. Eli looked to the doormen, having learned not too long ago that a rather large, foreign werewolf sometimes worked the entrance; he wasn't there tonight. At least, not yet.

Katrina dropped him off on the corner and drove around, parking the car away from prying eyes. Moving around to the preferred alleyway she gave a light bound and landed on a fire escape. Another short jump had her halfway up the building. From here she could see the nightclub a few blocks down - she could smell the party goers and it made her eyes dilate to black.
She settled in to wait, alert to the sounds of the night. Eli would deliver, and if he didn't - well, she would be fed either way.

Nick pulled up in front of the Onyx, finishing off the last of his fries as he parked. Well fed and content, he shut off the engine and got out, shutting his door and turning towards the car, trying to decide if he should put the top up or not. Nah. Set the alarm. That'll be fine. Though if someone touches this car, they're going to be in serious agony if I ever catch up to them. He pressed the button on the key chain to set the alarm and stuck his keys in the pocket of his jacket. Stretching, Nick took a moment to glance up at the sky towards the moon.

Waiting until Katrina had driven away, Eli turned his green-hazel eyes back towards the club, letting them briefly wane to their lupine, more vivid shade; to any passers-by, it would easily be explained as a trick of the light - one of the benefits of his human and wolf forms have similar eye colours, he supposed.
Wandering from the curb, he headed towards the club, slipping easily into a role he had assumed countless times before. He was an unattached young man looking for a good time. He could never quite pull off being cocky, though; he'd have to hope there was someone inside - man or woman; Katrina wouldn't care about sexual orientation - looking for company in the form of a somewhat quiet, wandering individual like himself.

Having finished his stretch and grown bored of looking at the moon- it held very little interest for him any more- he started for the door, thinking about what sort of beer he wanted. As long as it's a longneck, I don't care. Just none of that mug junk.

Letting the door swing and click shut behind them, essentially locking, Eli took a breath in, glancing skyward, to the moon; in less than a week, it would be full. He finally managed to pull his eyes down from it, though they were perhaps a little brighter than they should have been normally, and looked to the girl, Allie.
She gave him a sweet smile. "It's much nicer out here."
“Yeah…” he replied, almost in a distracted manner. He managed a smile for a moment, wondering how to go about his next task. He’d done this before, but it never got any easier.
"You okay, hon? You look like something's bothering you."
Eli realised he was letting his act slip, and smiled quickly. “No, everything’s fine.” He glanced skyward again. “Nearly full moon,” he added quietly, almost conversationally.
"Yes," she agreed, looking up as well. "It's really a gorgeous night, isn't it?"
Tell her to run. The small voice in the back of his mind was, as usual, quickly silenced as Katrina’s cold command re-entered his mind, taking precedence. “Yeah, it is.” He looked to her again. “You came here alone?” It was a simple question, but served a purpose; he didn’t need to deal with the hassle of her friends coming to look for her later.
"Nah, I came with my best friend, but she found a guy and bailed on me. Don't even know how I'm getting home -- she's got my purse, the bitch."
Eli gave a gentle laugh, which was really rather empty. He supposed her friend had really signed her death warrant for her. Had Allie’s friend still been in the club, he probably would have rejected her, and found someone else.
"But I'm not as worried about that now," she added in an almost baby voice; it was clearly meant to be endearing, but it came off almost sickening. "You'll take care of me, right?"
Katrina would have laughed at the tone, Eli knew. Since she wasn’t here, he settled for laughing gently, and nodding. “Yeah, I’ll do that…” He glanced to her, head bowed over slightly given his height; his back was to the alley’s opening, where it led to the front of the club, and the streets beyond. Allie would be the only one to notice the more intense shade of green in his eyes all of a sudden.
"Wow..." she said, staring at him. "You've got really pretty eyes...."
Eli had been about to respond, or simply give his ‘true nature’ away enough to provoke her inevitable flight response when he detected an unmistakeable scent, and the door behind them clicked open. Spooked by the noise, Eli’s eyes flashed vividly, and he growled loudly, immediately identifying the intruder as another werewolf.

She felt rather than saw Eli's return to the street and noted with satisfaction he wasn't alone. The tall blonde he was with looked healthy - and she was aroused, that was obvious enough by how close she stayed to her dog.
Lovely choice. The arousal will add sweetness to the tang of her fear - this will be an excellent feast tonight.
With a swift leap, she was across to a closer fire escape - her eyes narrowed as she saw Eli's manner change. "Another one, mm?" She blew air out her mouth in an annoyed huff. "Ah well. Eli will know what to do." Her lip curled into a grin. All too well.

Being greeted by a growl wasn't what Nick had been actually expecting, but it didn't actually surprise him. This was, after all, werewolf territory. Still, unless the girl was a werewolf, which wasn't likely since he was just getting the scent of one, he had thought the guy would be smarter than to reveal what he was to her. It was almost an unspoken rule to not announce your otherside to those who weren't the same species. There was a lot less trouble that way.
"Not interrupting anything am I?" Nick heard the door click shut behind him and leaned casually against the wall. Despite looking rather unconcerned, he was ready for trouble should it show its ugly face.

Allie was glancing around in utter bewilderment. Eli had just growled...and now suddenly, there was another guy interrupting the whole thing. She was suddenly very, very afraid.
"Maybe...uh...maybe I should...be going..."
Eli made short work of shedding the plain jacket he had been wearing, leaving his t-shirt on as he quickly snatched out, acting instinctively now, and grabbing the girl’s arm; he couldn’t have her running away too fast. This new wolf complicated things, and made Eli very uneasy, but he would handle it. He had to. Noticeably, his form started to shift; contort…
She stared at him. "Eli...what...what's wrong with you? Let go of me!"
“Can’t do that,” he growled, fangs pushing through his gums as he turned eerily bright eyes on her now, his hair becoming more wild and feral. Another growl cut through the air around them. If he was going to transform, then he had to do it now, before this intruder made a mess of things. He jerked on Allie’s arm; not enough to do any damage, but enough to unbalance her so her retreat would be hindered.
She teetered a bit on her high heels when he jerked, and lost her balance. Sitting down hard on the ground, she stared up at Eli; he was so different, now, and becoming weirder by the second. "Oh, shit..."
Throwing caution to the wind, and rather hastily, he reached up, and tore his shirt off over his head, kicking off his boots without a second thought. Glancing meaningfully to the other wolf, he gave in to the inner beast, and transformed.
Allie screamed, scrambling backwards as she tried to get to her feet. "Nononono....damn you, Jill, for leaving me here!" She stood up clumsily.

As the other werewolf started to transform, Nick pushed himself away from the wall. "Son of a..." He hadn't actually been expecting a fight, but if this guy wanted one, then Nick was happy to oblige. He shucked off his jacket and kicked off his shoes quickly. "Dude, I don't think you want to do this, but since you started it, let's go." He pulled his scarab pendant from around his neck, dropping it with the rest of his stuff and kicking a bit of the jacket over it in order to conceal it from view. He didn't care about his clothes, but he wasn't about to risk losing the scarab.
Nick's hazel eyes brightened to amber and the transformation began immediately, his hair spreading over him and darkening as his bones cracked with the change. It was only moments before he was on all fours, fully transformed into the large black beast that was his wolf.
Giving a snarl of challenge, Nick found himself wondering if the girl was going to be smart enough to make a break for it while she had the chance. He was old enough to have no problems keeping his wolf's mind under control, though he pushed it to the surface just a bit. He was a fighter, but the wolf was an even better one.

Even before Eli had finished forming into the huge, imposing wolf that he was, the girl had, for lack of a better term, freaked. She screamed loudly, scrambled properly to her feet, and ran as fast as her heels would carry her. Turning his short-muzzled, shaggy head to the black wolf, he bellowed at it, and then dropped to all fours. Instead of barrelling into the newcomer in a less-than-subtle challenge however, he pursued his ‘prey’… really, Katrina’s prey, but the animalistic mind took over, and registered the chase; the hunt.
He charged after her, always staying far enough behind to make the poor girl think she had a chance, but close enough to make her pile on more speed, and really get her blood pumping. He growled loudly and savagely, using all four limbs as he thundered over the hard, dirty floor; he couldn’t risk losing her, even if the intruder was on his — non-existent — tail.

"Oh good boy." Katrina nearly purred. He'd ignored the impulse to fight and gone after her prey like she'd required. Excellent. But this was going to end differently than she wanted, and as reluctant as she was to admit it, it wasn't her dog's fault.
She dropped down to the ground and began to run, easily moving to where she'd cut off the chase. She heard Eli coming, and without any movement wasted she stepped from behind a wall with her arm out. The taller woman ran straight into her arm, and Katrina's strength pretty much made it the equivelant of a wall. She went down like a doll and Katrina moved to her head, ignoring Eli tearing up.
The blonde began to whimper, looking up at Katrina - "shh, dear...." She put a finger on the girl's lips - giving a small smile she looked up at Eli. "Take care of him. I wish to begin my meal." Without another look, she bared her fangs and buried them into the girl's throat - exulting in the taste of the girl's emotions thick in her blood. The scarlet liquid stained her lips and she drained her life away - feeling her own body warm as the thickness pooled through her.

Nick went tearing after the other werewolf, paws pounding heavily on the pavement as he gave chase. His mind was on the chase, using his speed to his advantage, never too far behind the larger wolf. Despite being smaller than the one he was after, Nick's stubborn streak and instincts kept him going. There was no way he would give up so long as he could still manage to keep his feet under him. Even if he was having difficulty with that simple feat, it was unlikely that he would back away.
Under normal circumstances, he never would have considered transforming in front of someone who was not a werewolf, but as far as he was concerned, desperated time called for desperate measures and this definately qualified. Staying close on the other's heels, he could have probably made an easy tackle, but decided against it for the time being.

As soon as Katrina appeared, knocking the young girl off her feet, and essentially dooming her, Eli slowed, and instinctively obeyed her command. He could smell and hear the other - smaller - werewolf charging up behind him, and wheeled about, green eyes blazing as his maw opened wide. Fangs showing, he roared, and moved towards the approaching black wolf, before rising up onto his powerful hind legs to intercept him, casting a large shadow over the alley; at just over nine feet, he was no small opponent.
Hopefully this intrusive werewolf would know what he was doing... not that his smaller size meant he was by any means weaker. Eli knew better than to underestimate an opponent.

Nick managed to pull to a stop just as the other werewolf turned towards him. Watching as the other stood up to his full height, he lowered his head, flattened his ears back and snarled, baring two rows of sharp, gleaming teeth. Intimidation was one of the things that Nick never gave into, no matter how powerful the opposition seemed. He knew full well that his bullheadedness was likely to get him into trouble one day- it certainly wouldn't be the first time- but worrying about such things was not something Nick was going to be bothered with, especially not now.
Hackles up, he let out another snarl. The run had gotten his blood churning and now he was ready for a fight if one was upcoming.
