"That sounds fine," Sissy said in response to Cassidy's statement about waiting half and hour. She glanced over to the book, Salem's Lot, thinking about how ironic it was for a werewolf to be reading a book dealing with vampires. She couldn't believe she had actually left it in the music room, especially since she couldn't remember exactly what she had been doing in there to leave it in the first place. She wasn't musically inclined in any fashion and she usually didn't even go into that particular room, so it was a bit of a mystery. Still, it had given them the perfect excuse to go hang out with Nate for a bit. She leaned over and claimed a handful of trail mix for herself, munching on it, calm once again and glad for it.

"Y'know," Cassidy began, holding the bag while Sissy fished into it, grabbing some more for herself after her friend had removed her hand, "I've never read this. I might have to borrow it some time." She glanced up, and smirked, before nudging the book away, so she wouldn't get it covered in the trail mix.
"I hope that new werewolf settles down," Cassidy mused aloud, rolling over onto her back, despite chewing on the snacks. She wasn't worried about choking, and as such, didn't even hesitate to keep eating. "I mean... I know they wanna help her get the hang of it all, like they did with all the other bitten werewolves, but if she keeps acting that way..."
The redhead bit her bottom lip thoughtfully, and then glanced to Sissy from where she lay. "What do you think they'll do if she keeps lashing out like that...?"

"It's actually a good book." She smirked. "If you can handle it being about vampires, that is."
At the questions about the newcomer, Sissy bit her bottom lip thoughtfully for a moment before answering. "While we were there, I noticed something. She didn't start lashing out until my wolf became angry. Did you hear the way she was talking when it happened? It's like she was picking up on the wolf's anger." She shook her head. "I know we can sense things easier than humans, but I was perfectly calm. It was only the wolf that was really becoming angry."
She sighed as she looked at the trail mix that was still in her hand. "I think maybe it was my fault she lashed out. Since I couldn't control the wolf and emotions ran away with it, I think maybe she might have been lashing out to either get away or prepare to fight it should there have been an attack. It's all theories, of course, but still..."

Rising to sit on the edge of her bed, Cassidy twisted gracefully on her mattress, and looked at her friend, head cocked at a slight angle to cause her hair to drape around her face gently. “It’s not your fault, and besides, Cole and Dia were there. Nothing happened, and even if she’d have gotten violent, it’s not like they’d have let her do anyone any damage.” Hell, even Brock would have gone on the defensive, Cassidy knew. That dog’s dedication to his human master was… extremely touching.
“Okay… well… I’m gonna go see the friendly-neighbourhood-Beta-female,” she began in a reassuring, cheerful tone, with one of her trademark smiles, “and you can chill in here ‘til I get back.” She grabbed hold of her stereo remote from the nightstand, and tossed it lightly to Sissy. “Be back soon.”
And with that, she bounced off her bed, and was on her way out the door, leaving her friend to her thoughts and contemplations on the matter at hand.

After Cassidy left, Sissy glanced to the remote and switched on the radio before getting to her feet. The remote got tossed onto the bed as she began pacing, something she did too often in her opinion despite the fact that it sometimes helped her to relax. That, however, was not proving to be the case this time. It seemed to make her mind work twice as fast, something she was in no mood for, but because she felt the need to be doing something at the moment, she continued moving back and forth over Cassidy's floor, tapping her fingers lightly on her jeans in time to the music.
She knew that her friend had been right about how the Alphas wouldn't have let Mara do any damage, but she still felt that the whole incident had been her fault in the first place. After all, shouldn't she be able to control her wolf a little better than that? It normally wasn't that bad, but why did it have to choose right then to decide to be territorial, and over a human? Admittedly, Nate was a very nice human, but he still wasn't of her sort.
I hope Cass manages to find out something good. If not, I don't have a clue as to what I'm going to do.

Continued from: Heidi's Office.
Swinging her door shut behind her, she glanced at Sissy, surprised to find the other female werewolf pacing around the room. "Oh. Hey." She checked the door was closed behind her, and then headed back over to the bed, looking briefly to the radio that her friend had turned on. "So I talked to her." She knitted her hands in her lap as she sat cross-legged on the bed, having nudged her shoes off her feet to land with gentle thuds on the floor.
Deciding not to keep Sissy in suspense, she persisted, "And she said to just keep quiet about it, and see what happens... like, maybe it is just the moon."

Sissy stopped pacing to look at Cass. "I really hope it is just the moon. I just can't imagine a werewolf and a human having any sort of hope." She shook her head. "I mean, even having a crush on Devon- not that I do-" she added quickly, feeling it extremely neccesary to do so, "but at least it would make more sense than having feelings for Nate." Still, even as she spoke, she found herself just a little disappointed about the thought that the feelings she had felt towards Nate could really be from nothing more than the moon.
There were some in the pack- who she kept herself from naming, even in her mind- who really did have the potential to be mates if they would just open their eyes and figure things out. She had noticed certain pairs in the pack that really would make good mates for one another and she was certain that others had noticed this, too. In a way, she supposed she was jealous of this. She wanted to find someone to spend the rest of her life in love with. Never mind that she was still rather young when the fact she was a werewolf was considered.
She sighed and sat at the edge of the bed. "I guess waiting is really all I can do."

Mara's wolf was practically howling in her head - she knew that people were in the room - maybe she just hadn't been loud enough. You want to fix it, just fix it!
Putting her hand on the doorknob, she took her courage in both hands and turned it. It turned easily, and the door opened slowly. She let it open, and said a little loudly - "Hello? It's Mara Harper...Do I have the right room? Cassidy? Sissy?"

In truth, Cassidy hadn’t heard the door. Shameful, really, considering her nature, but she was no fighter, and if things continued the way they were going with the pack, then it seemed she may never be. Really, all she wanted was a chance, but the pack had a stable body of fighters already, so…
Maybe she should just suck it up and approach Dia about the prospect. She knew the Alpha female had a large role — understandably — in that area, as did Cole, but she would feel better approaching another female on the matter.
When the door opened, she straightened, instinctively on her guard. Her red hair lightened a little at the very roots, but then she used her senses; this was no vampire, obviously.
How the hell would a vampire get in to begin with? her brain argued chidingly, and she chuckled to herself sheepishly. She immediately recognised the woman who poked her head in. “Oh, hey. Yeah, right room… um… c’mon in.” There was no reason to be rude, after all.

Truth be known, Sissy hadn't heard the knocking at the door any more than Cassidy had. She had been lost in her thoughts and hadn't even realized there was someone else there until she caught Mara's scent, which had only been once the door was open. She had finally pushed the whole Nate thing out of her head and had been working on a layout for a website she was going to be designing for a client. I really have to start paying more attention to things, she told herself silently as she looked up at Mara curiously. Whenever I start to read or think about sites, I seem to lose track of everything.

Mara found herself at a loss for words with both women regarding her. "I um.. was going to go to the training room and have a little training, but um...Heidi told me where your room was, and I wanted to uh - stop in and," she cleared her throat, "clear things up maybe."
She came in and shut the door behind her. "Look, I ah - I hope I didn't offend either of you earlier - I'm not sure what I did, but see - bloody hell this is hard." She put her hand on her head. "I'm an empath. And my wolf reacts to emotions, and one of you was upset with me and it could feel that and I don't have alot of control yet." She looked at the ground. "So - if I could just apologise for whatever it was I did, I'd like to and start over - this place could be the best thing that's happened to me and I don't want to muck it up."
Taking a deep breath, she pushed her hands into her pockets and looked awkwardly around.

Cassidy had been chewing on something from the bag of treats that still sat on the sheets. She looked from Mara, to Sissy. This really wasn't her place to say anything, and besides, her mouth was full.
This is kinda awkward, she thought to herself, chewing a little more, and then swallowing. She looked to Sissy again, and then back to Mara. Even if she hadn't had a mouthfull of chewy... stuff... she wouldn't have really known what to say anyway.

She bit her lower lip lightly before letting out a soft sigh. "That was completely my fault. You did absolutely nothing wrong. My wolf got a bit jealous and... well... maybe I did too a little. Oh, I know you didn't mean for it to happen. There was really no reason for either of us to get upset in the first place. After all, it's only natural that Nate would have taken a look at your injury and you did nothing to warrant any sort of hostile reaction. I think the feelings were multiplied due to the approach of the full moon and I'm really, really sorry if I gave off the impression that you did something wrong. You didn't and there's no reason at all that you should be apologizing. If anyone here deserves an apology, it's you. I really am very sorry about earlier."

Mara smiled with relief. "Look, let's just wipe it clean. Even if that doctor was Brad Pitt, I wouldn't go after him, so if he's your territory or if he's not, you're still in no danger from me. My heart's still wrapped in duct tape from the last one." She gave a wry smile.
Extending her hand to Sissy, she said - "Let's start over. I'm Mara."

Always one for starting over when things got off on the wrong foot, Sissy shifted on the bed and extended her own hand, shaking Mara's with a smile. "I'm Sissy. I never use my actual first name and am quite happy to view it as a 'don't ask, don't tell' sort of thing."
